Birmingham desperate to sign him and their local newspaper is doing some leg work. Here is their latest on Sam http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/birmingham-city-transfers-sam-gallagher--13073814

Plenty of clubs in the Championship are chasing Sam but for now it's very much a first team place in a red and wide shirt he is eyeing. He brings versatility pace and strength into a forward line that lacked that somewhat last season. I think he will surprise quite a few. Let's hope so anyway.

Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Everything you say is true but unfortunately he is not quite Top 10 Premier League standard. He usually makes one dire mistake or pass every game. In the competitive environment we exist in, he is a weak link. That is cruel but so is Premiership football. -
I think there will also be more announcements tomorrow.
-
I like Yoshida but he has one big flaw that lets him down and that is woeful distribution. That weakness in itself is enough for him to be regarded as not good enough in the higher echelons of the Premier League.

Backroom staff, all those in favour..Hands up for Sammy Lee
Fitzhugh Fella replied to patred44's topic in The Saints
Me too, at least he wasn't found to be lying to a court of law. Sammy Lee maybe a nice bloke but he veers to the Harry Redknapp camp when it comes to being squeaky clean over transfer fees. -
Sam Gallagher - Joins Blackburn: Official
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Saints
Incidentally over the last 30 years publishing books on Saints I have probably just about broke even. Considering the amount of time invested I would not recommend it as a primary career. -
Sam Gallagher - Joins Blackburn: Official
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Saints
Sorry still genuinely puzzled. Yes I am not the club can do nothing wrong type of fan and I criticise more than praise. But by and large I feel the club has been well run under Ms Liebherr. I shall be sorry to see her go. I do think however the club blows too much smoke up its own arse - one of the reasons expectations are perhaps too high. -
This has the appearance of a buy to improve the squad rather than a buy to improve the team. It would be nice to have gone for Chambers I guess but money comes into it.

I am genuinely intrigued why you want to make everything so personal? We must have met? -

When St Mary's was built there were many who said we would struggle to get 30,000 week in week out......but we did. Indeed the planned stadium capacity at Stoneham was only 25,000 which was considered by Lowe to be ample. I am not saying we would fill a 40,000 arena, but can't see the harm in extending one side, presumably the Kingsland, to get a capacity of 36-7000. We can't just sit still. Southampton is a growing city, you only have to visit the down town area and Woolston to see all the building activity. All within walking distance of St Mary's.

Ricky is off to Eastleigh I hear
-
That is a bit of a simplistic way of looking at things even though I appreciate where you are coming from.
-
To be fair there has already been a lot of activity and deals being brokered.
-
Seriously? Giggs? A nasty piece of work if ever I saw one and far too much United blood in his veins. It would be an awful appointment rather in the same category as Hodgson or Pardew.

Let's hope Les Reed and Co get it right this time and in time to have a better window than last summer.

Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Precisely, it's a bizarre scenario and one the club should have avoided. Surely his position is 100% untenable? -
Short answer, when we build and more importantly fill a 65,000 capacity stadium or persuade Bill Gates living in Woolston is the ideal place to raise a family.
-
I think the "should he stay should he go" debate to be a bit superfluous now. He's going of that I am sure. Only time will tell if we made the right decision and much will depend on our powers of persuasion in terms of recruiting a replacement. This is when Les Reed earns his money.
-
The club are riding two horses at present but sooner or later are going to have to take a decision. My money is still firmly on him going.
-
Very clever. I just hope they manage to collar him.

It's my opinion yes. This forum is based on opinions. Some educated some not so educated but while I don't have any idea who is being lined up I remain sure CP is on his way due to the odd snippet I've heard and reading between the lines spoken by Krueger. I wouldn't be too upset to see Puel depart but his departure within 12 months does undermine my faith that the powers to be will get it right next time. We really have to get some stability into this position.
