They may be in debt but their income covers the payments they have to make no problem.

Not a chance. United with £80m to spend on new players? Just think what Fergie could do with that. What is depressing is that Ronaldo is worth almost six times what Saints are, according to the Echo. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/football/4432150.Manchester_Utd_accept___80m_bid_for_Ronaldo/

That plot was from Terminator: FutureShock, one of my favourite games of all time. Great game. First time I was ever truly immersed in a FPS. Personally, I really liked Salvation. I'm a bit of a Terminator geek and think it may be a film aimed more at people who have seen the first two films hundreds of times as the number of very subtle references was actually quite astounding. I think McG possibly went a little bit too far in trying to keep the fan boys happy rather than letting rip and creating a film that could stand alone and be great without the need to have seen the first three. I do hope the muted critical response to the film (I've no idea how it is doing at the box office) doesn't stop a fifth film, though.

The rights to the badge are owned by the club, which the new owner will own, so there is no need to do a new one just for that reason.

Not really, as he says initially he was representing a group of people which has now been whittled down to just one person.

I've played the demo and thought it seemed very good. I've got a few other games I really should finish first though before getting any more...

Pah. Someone else got there first.

Spot on. £1m might be too good to turn down in our situation though. Mind you, Vital Football sites are far from reliable sources of information.

I spent two years living in Portsmouth and I can tell you now a lot of people there see our council as progressive and supportive of the city when compared to theirs. Basically, the grass is always greener. Gunwharf (can sometimes be a bit rough at night mind) and the Spinnaker are huge successes, but Commercial Road is dying on its arse compared to Above Bar, Guildhall Walk makes Leisure World look peaceful etc. Personally I think the worst bits of Portsmouth are far worse than equivalents in Southampton (Somers Town, Portsea and Landport make Millbrook and Thornhill look idyllic - I never found Paulsgrove that bad though) but the tourist bits of Portsmouth like the dockyard and tower have more to offer (or at the very least, are better utilised). I think promotion to the Premier League has changed the outside perception of Portsmouth, but I don't think it's inspired the city itself at all - especially in the way that relegation seems to have decimated civic pride in Southampton. Assuming we get through this though, we'll be back. Just the same as Pompey did.

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4403468.Radio_Hampshire_shut_down/ So what does that mean for online commentary next season? If we have any matches to play, that is...

If you wouldn't mind running up and down Above Bar too, singing about how corrected you are, that'd be great.

The Echo story (I posted the link above) says Crouch had paid April's and could pay May's wages - not that he had done already.

£100m in debt? Didn't Ashley settle all the debts when he took over?

It's on the shortlist, but I don't see how it could happen. The new stadium plans have all been shelved, and instead the plan is to redevelop FP to 30k, with a huge supermarket next door. If that does go ahead (on past form, that's a big if) I fail to see how there would be enough room to make the ground 40k. I do wonder that if our future had been more certain, would we have been on the shortlist?

Jason Euell. He's on 10k a week, and has received a signing on fee of 400k (which was paid in two installments) which averages out as 17k per week. It was in the Echo's Saints Untold Stories thing, but they don't appear to have put that particular article up online yet.

Yeah, after all, if it's spent 12 years in development there's no way it could possibly meet that level of hype and expectation.

If there was a press conference, no member of staff would be sworn to secrecy. Press conferences are not clandestine affairs. If the press officer says he is unaware of any press conference, it means there is no press conference. Now, the club may have called one since someone on here rang up the press office (it doesn't take long to call up a few media outlets and lay out 30 chairs), but I consider it unlikely seeing as a press conference about a new buyer would be a high profile thing and the Echo/BBC/Solent/SSN would have reported it.

Looks like it's now in development hell permanently. Well, even more permanently than it already was. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2009/may/07/games-pc

Personally, I think fair play to Stockport for spotting the loophole and playing it to their advantage. However, it just goes to show that the league's rules have been applied in such a slapdash manner it essentially one rule for some and another for others. However, because they don't have the profile of us (having been in the Premier League) I doubt very much we'll see anyone else (Mahwinney or other managers for example) crying foul of the application of the rules as they did when it looked like we had exploited another loophole (which incidentally, still remains, despite us being punished).

What router do you have? I didn't change any settings on my router a few months ago but suddenly I couldn't stay online long enough to play a round of COD. Basically the router just gave up the ghost, but it was only on the PS3 where the connection being dropped was an obvious problem. It could just be that it's only when you've been downloading stuff on the PS3 that the router has rebooted itself or something.
