  1. Can't say I blame him. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_4755953,00.html
  2. The evidence would support that, yes.
  3. Lowe didn't take over a club in administration...he's taking one there! So you are not comparing like with like. For me the most interesting point is his observation (made nearly 3 yeras ago now) that Lowe doesn't have a clue about running a club outside the Premiership. It was the main reason Lowe got booted out in 2006 and it's even more apparent this time round!
  4. You mean wine (albeit non-vintage) into water!
  5. Yep! Plus a lot of arrogance and, quite likely, more than a little lunacy.
  6. 2 and a bit weeks on, this looks like it could be one of the least accurate prediction posts ever!
  7. A number of posters on here go on about how our young lads can't cope with long ball football, big rough centre-forwards, being kicked off the pitch, etc., etc. Based on what I've seen this season (7 or 8 games), this is nonsense. To quote 3 examples, Bristol City, Blackpool and Forest have done none of the above. They have simply been well-organised sides that know how to defend capably and to exploit weaknesses (e.g. poor marking at set pieces, lack of pace in crucial areas, tendency to overplay in midfield) in our limited and poorly-organised team. They may make less passes than Saints, but those that they make are certainly more effective. I'm just fed up with reading posters state or imply that, along with one or two teams like Reading, we are trying to promote good football, whereas everyone else plays long ball, rough house football resembling Wimbledon of the 1980's. It's utter tosh - just like most of our football this season! Rant over!
  8. We've already strengthened this window with Smith and Molyneux, two people who were, respectively, a Millwall reserve and fourth choice at Everton. What more do you want? Some people are never satisfied!
  9. No it's not. He's 53 and a former World Cup finalist FFS!! If he was any good as a coach plenty of clubs with more resources than us would have been offering him work over the last 20 years. What we have seen over the last 6 months has just confirmed what his previous coaching record indicated - this job, even with our limited resources, is far above his capabilities. However, if the (very good) coach of my lad's U9 team needed more assistance, I'm sure Jan would be excellent in that role.
  10. Sorry, I've missed this. Has Cork been having a dig at Rupert since he left?
  11. Would obviously have a great relationship with Rupert then...
  12. I asked the following on another thread a week or so ago: "Can anyone provide a breakdown of our league results this season with/without Ollie in the side?" but didn't get a reply. My reason for asking is that I don't think he's been involved in many (if any) of our (slightly) better performances this season. (e.g. Reading, Derby, Norwich.) Anyone got the facts and figures?
  13. Then you will end up sadly disappointed!
  14. Even more reason for her to wear a 'Lowe Out' t-shirt then!
  15. Agreed. Why can't we vote for a pair, like with the centre-backs?
  16. A real LoL for me! Luckily I'd just swallowed my mouthful of tea before reading it!
  17. I quite liked Marsden, but passing was undoubtedly (for a midfielder) the part of his game most lacking in quality.
  18. No he's not - read Bally's autobiography. You'll find the negotiations with Keegan took place mainly away from So'ton.
  19. Certainly not made aware very long before it happens - the day before Stern was first loaned out JP announced that he would be the penalty taker for the rest of the season!
  20. Because no-one thinks this. There are, however, many of us who think that Lowe and Wilde are, not for the first time, totally mis-managing the club, their strategy including a non-sensical managerial appointment who, as many of us predicted, seems to be out of his depth. These issues naturally impact on just about any thread, footballing or financial, that someone might start.
  21. The club is beyond parody. Why would any decent player/coach/manager want to come here or stay here? Please someone, why?
  22. Exactly the point of the thread. Are such players, in such numbers, sensible signings, given our financial position?
  23. Trouble is that I think many of them, plus a number of our own youngsters currently playing, are probably not even particularly good League 1 players.
  24. Yes, as have Robertson and Pearce. Doesn't alter the point of the thread though.
