Think how far adrift we'd be without our revolutionary coaching structure!

Exactly.

So now Lowe says we couldn't afford Pearson!!!!!!!!

You got in ahead of me. We played some excellent football against both BC and Sheff U at the end of last season, despite being under a lot of pressure. -
Dodgy knees? Wasn't that Delgado? Signed by....oh!

Good, a proper player of CCC standard whose wages are obviously not too high, Rupert having renewed his contract this summer. No doubt, under the revolutionary new coaching regime, he either won't get picked or will be played at left-back!

Some small things that could make a big thing...

Much more important things than these, which would improve things rapidly, would be to play people in their best positions and adopt sensible tactics. This is what is taking us down, not the finances or the fans! -
3.25 mil for a decent, reliable 'keeper (that has been getting a lot of practice tbf) LoL more than for a long time. Only bit that's correct about that is the bit in brackets. More likely valuations: KD free. Plenty better in CCC and his wages will be relatively high. AS £1.5m AL £1m plus add-ons

If this is true, it shows how stupid the normal ticketing policy is!

Saints Greatest XI - Nominations For 2nd Best RM.

I don't think Bally ever played right midfield for Saints, so don't think you should consider him there. Before choosing any of the front 6, I think you should have a poll to determine what position Matt's going to be played in, as you could make a case for either wing, striker or (possibly) centre midfield. Once that's decided, it would then be easier to organise the rest of the team without excluding any 'greats'. -
Thought you meant we'd got rid of Jan - Damn!

Top 5 best and worst player to play for saints in CCC
Big Ron fan replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Best: Bale Kenwynne Theo Rudi Stern (Idiakez and Belmadi would have got in if they'd been fit more often) Worst: Powell Wotton Pele (when played at centre-back, but a good midfielder) Bennett (improved after his shocking debut, but still poor) Robertson -
Not for the first time, I'm probably in a minority of one, but I think he could do a decent job for at least half the sides in the Premiership. He's a good all-round player - his lack of pace wouldn't matter so much in a side with plenty of pace around him. Like one or two others, he's suffered over the last couple of years because he's been surrounded by a load of dross and had tactically inept managers.
-
Chelski will probably want him to play in a stronger team - perhaps a lower Premiership team - in the second half of the season.
-
I've just seen his picture on the OS. Is he the love child of John Barnes and Jermaine Wright?
-
LoL! Haven't heard that expression for a while!!

Sturrock by a distance, but I quite liked Pearson also. -

I remember back to Joe Kirkup's latter days and I agree with the 3 you singled out, plus I think Jeff Kenna deserves a mention. I never thought Golac was that sound defensively, so wouldn't choose him. Mick Mills was always an excellent footballer and was instrumental in turning around the team after KK, Mick and one or two others left. I'd vote for Dodd, though. Until his legs went in his latter years, he was a very consistent defender who rarely had a bad game, but also contributed lots going forward and created many goals from his overlapping runs. Also a good captain, I thought. -

I can't believe so many people are going for Dave Watson. A top player when he was a few years younger, but when he played for us he was old and slow - so much so that Lawrie (despite his love of class players in the latter stages of their careers) moved him on after a year or so. McGrath and Wright for me, but honourable mentions for Gabriel, Nicholl, Richards and Killer. -

That's a really stupid comment. I can just about remember Dennis Hollywood. For me, Dennis, Bridge and Bale have all been outstanding for us. As the latter didn't play for us in the top flight, I'd choose one of the other two. Don't know who yet - I'll make up my mind at voting time! -
I can't believe anyone includes Wotton, even on the bench!

Apologies if I've missed another thread on this. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10881 Whoever wrote the second paragraph is delusional. Perhaps it was Jan (via a translator).

He also said that Stern was now the official penalty taker, the day before he was shipped out on loan!
