Good point and could have been more, the change to the 3-5-2 worked a treat along with the introduction of diallo, this is what you wanna see from Ralph to make tactical switches that effect the game and it worked this time. Wow on Livramento looks a prospect and a half,, when he drives forward reminds a little of a young Gareth bale once he gets going he’s hard to peg back and keeping kwp out of right back position speaks volumes. AA I’m still quite impressed with tbh ok he had two chances to win the game but he’s fast confident and looks a bit of a predator he will score plenty this season and I’m not too worried about missing ings anymore. also thought salisu was pretty decent at the back well done guys

Yeah agreed he is sort of in the same mould as our stuey I think this could be a nice bargain actually..Christie likes to shoot a lot as well, my only concern is I’m not sure we would play him and stew in the first team together as the two number tens, would probably work better if we played at 4231 with one of those two in the hole

Think I’d go with this Forster kwp. Bednarek Salisu. Perraud livramento jwp romeau s armstrong A. Armstrong Adams looks provably our strongest most obvious line up to me Livramento and kwp right side should give us strength in attack and defence down that side and Stuart Armstrong should be easily the first name on the sheet number ten wise,, although Ralph may see it different

It’s form though isn’t it ? this bad run has carried on since January, now it’s carrying on into the new season... if he was to manage to get a good run of form going it might get people off his back but it’s looking unlikely right now,, and I think his colours are starting to show now that he’s quite a stubborn tactically inept manager that can’t/won’t make the changes neccasary.. right now I’d prefer someone that just makes us hard to beat, we are totally soft under Ralph

I’ll probably get some shit for saying this and it won’t happen but I’d take Gaston back actually. Think he’s better then the majority of our tens bar Armstrong. he always looked creative to me and was probably a tad unlucky we had lallana lambert and jrod all firing at the same time which reduced his chances.. always liked him personally and was superb for boro too

I still feel it could block tella a little which is a shame if there is no option on this dude.. yes tella can also play number 10 and will get some minutes but he would have been maybe the main option to replace the starting strikers if out,, so in a way to me i find it a bit strange to delvolop the Chelsea dude over our own .. on the good side though.. OH MY GOD does this boy look special FREAK springs to mind.. he looks like a create your own player on Fifa when you take a big tall lanky dude and give him 99 pace and acceleration Jesus Christ . i know anyone can look good to a extent on you tube but you can’t really cheat freakish attributes like this .. he is insanely rapid for such a big guy kind of looks like a young Zlatan but with rapid pace . Very exciting he looks better then Armstrong too. I wonder what our plans our with him ?

He does look great tbh.. super fast for a big guy. But like I posted in the transfer thread if it’s only a loan with no view to a permanent move I think it’s a bit of a weird signing,, surely better to develop the likes of tella and obafemi who are actually ours ?

Well if he’s not ours and there is no option to buy it’s a bit pointless having him over tella and obafemi, might as well develop them instead? id just like us to get the ings replacement sorted first tbh., we got money from the sale.. season starts Saturday why dither about and end up starting Redmond up front or something as bad vs Everton when we could get our replacement sorted now?

Exactly it’s a bit worrying some of the players we are being linked with.. we don’t need oxo especially on loan,, the young Chelsea striker if it’s only a loan is also a bit bizzare.. we need to replace ings ffs and not with a frikkin loan.. I’d still like us to go for Darwin Nunez

Nice analysis buddy.. could you include that Uruguayan striker we were linked with a while ago darwin Nunez? He looked fantastic to me and like a prime torres from the you tube.. might be out of our range but not more unrealistic then Tammy

It’s scary to me that we don’t have one clinical finisher at the club currently, even Adams is a scruffy finisher who can just as easily miss sitters.. ive got a horrible feeling we could be starting the season with Adams and Redmond up top.. but long tella obafemi and Walcott options also do not offer any finesse or clinical finishing either, it’s really important we get that with our ings replacement

Thing is isn’t Adams now really our main physical hold up player .. I know he doesn’t have quite the same attributes as pelle but a lot of Adams best attributes seem to be his physicality and holding the ball up to play in the quicker faster guy (ings) signing a big man kinda striker like sorloth might not get as well

Knowing us we will probably haggle and penny pinch over Armstrong or whoever our target is until the end of the window, possibly losing out in the process

That’s our fan base for you.. get excited about every Tom dick and Harry we had never heard of before and it’s now at the stage we getting excited over untried kids Southampton board got it easy appeasing us

How many of those appearences where starts ?.. if you wanna go with those appearances as proven though that adds up to 5 goals between them in 50 appearances, does that fill you with confidence If say ings got crocked for the season? smallbone has 12 appearances would you want him as the main back up to jwp and romeau ? lets be honest we don’t really know ourselves if tella and obafemi are up to it yet.. tella does look very quick and something differant but maybe more suited to being a winger/10 and obafemi finishing wise does not look great and was out of favour for the majority of last season and looked set to leave to a lower level

But really tella and obafemi are pretty much just youth players who have been blooded a little.. having them as back up to our first two strikers when we play two up front is not much differant from having say Vokins or Ramsey coveting Bertrand and kwp last year.. its very risky even though I do like tella

Tella and obafemi are completely unproven though It’s a big ask to expect 10 goals between them over the season even if they played a fair bit. Both are Quick but neither have showed much finishing ability..

Yeah but at least with what Virgil done we got full valuation for him.. what ings and hojbjerg done is making us take a crap valuation because it’s better then losing for them nothing and we end up not even getting half of what they are worth

Koeman used the league he knew to make signings.. and it worked a treat.. players like pelle and tadic he knew all about.. shame Ralph hasn’t really done that approach I’m sure there’s some real quality in the bundesliga that would do a great job for us

To be honest if it was up to me I’d bring lemina back into the mix.. think it’s a very skewed perception of him since Ralph froze him out..before that many regarded him as one of our most valuable players and better then hojbjerg.. fulham fans were also saying how he gave 100 percent, would give us a different option in midfield anyway someone a bit more dynamic for when we need to attack teams more I’m sure hardly anyone agrees though :)

Agree it would be a joke really to only get 20 m for one of the best cfs in the league..would hope we don’t sell too.. Trouble is we really do not seem the kind of club who runs a players contract out or keeps them against their will, all the talk that semmens spouts that we would not stand in a players way im kind of leaning if he doesn’t sign then we will crumble and sell him

Wasn’t Armstrong playing more as a box to box number 6 type cm at Celtic..?don’t think he was playing the same wide attacking number ten like he does here. So maybe makes elyoununoussi numbers look better against him?

How do u mean that Ralph saw eventually.? Ralph is still picking him ahead of tella and Walcott up until the last game of the season! even after Redmond gave away a goal by misckicking a clearance and standing with his hands on his hips for the offside Ralph left him on the full 90 so I’m not sure what makes you think Ralph has realised ? seems to me ralph rates Redmond and has him higher in the pecking order then Walcott djenepo and tella.. which kind of makes the Walcott signing even more pointless if he’s not even seen as better then what we have which bar Armstrong is not that good
