Sounds good but any idea on price? Kinda makes me wonder what’s in this for Augsburg ?? If he’s great we get him for set fee and if he flops he goes back there why would they want this deal if he’s so highly rated ?
-
Not saying we will do that just that in my opinion Ings would be the one that drops out more likely then Adams or redmond.... Anyway not sure what price has to do with it or why it’s mad ? Redmond Adams boufal could work just as good if not better then Adams Ings redmond as Adams is kinda being forced a bit wide in a three where boufal and redmond are more natural wide attackers
-
Very happy he seems to be playing his way back in, although formation could be a bit tricky for him to fit into atm if we are sticking with the 3-4-3.. unless we drop Ings and play che central
-
As much as I think Djenepo looks a very exciting signing, it would have probably made more sense to deal with Cb position before signing him..I mean we have redmond, boufal, sims Armstrong and possibly jwp or moi (if we ate feeling desperate ) that can play there. Feels a bit like when we signed Gunn over more needed positions last year.. it’s best to plug the holes first!
-
Trouble is it’s like a game of snakes and ladders as soon as we start getting near the top of the board we are picked apart and back to square one again
-
This, ^ I know our recruitment takes a fair bit of bashing but can we really expect to keep unearthing mane, vvd types on the cheap? I think this is the biggest problem with our buy low sell high strategy- once the purple patch of good signings inevitably runs dry you become in the situation we have found ourselves the last couple of seasons.
-
Is it really a good idea being so transparent with our desperation to move on players ? Surely it’s weakening our hand? Also I can’t see why this will be only a problem for us for example say Jordy Clasie had of been a hit, that would have probably pushed one of the other midfielders into unwanted failure mode, like wise if Hoedt had been a hit we could have been moaning about vestergaard or whoever else needing to be sold now ? Not all players can be in the first team.

Great post agree. Also strongly believe it’s having that continuous run in the team starting for many of the players, Gaston and Osvaldo we’re here at the time we had lambert j-rod Lallana front three which certainly didn’t help their cause.. boufals last season he was in and out of the side along with redmond and neither done particularly great similar kind of stats Looking at last year redmond has 6 goals four assists in 38 games in the league which he was pretty much starting every game, this isn’t that great would boufal really not match that in 38 starts himself ?
-
Hopefully not.. can’t we ditch moi instead

We don’t know for sure what Ralph has seen of him, but anyway getting him back taking a look at him in training seeing how he’s responding to Ralph’s tactics and instructions, what we saw of him under pellegrino etc could be completely different as it was a slow tedious approach which allowed little space for attacking players. I think this lack of end product and stuff is a myth, he was around the same statistically as redmond up until last season. He’s got better attributes then all our other attackers and wingers, why not at least give him a crack in training ?
-
Yeah could be right. I mean he was getting frustrated under pellegrino (hence the west brom goal celebration) and Hughes who he fell out with. So he probably doesn’t feel super appreciated at saints.. what he needs is a long constant run in the side like redmond had last season.. it’s hard to get thrown on late and change games.. or be in one week then out next two,, redmond wasn’t doing much either when they were both rotated in and out of the side
-
Surely Ralph can’t be behind boufal sale . Must be someone else’s idea.. find this pretty frustrating if we just let him go without giving him a shot under Ralph.. could be our standout attacker if it works out.. and if not 10m seems a floor price for boufal anyway if we get the best out of him he could be worth 3-4 times that so why not give a go ?
-
I just hope we try to go for the striker we think is best rather then trying to cut a value deal. By that I mean if we think Adams is the solution let's Get Adams, if we're to think augustin for example is a lot better then Adams but say 5 m more I hope we go there. This is a position we are crying out for quality so I hope we get a player that can deliver rather then trying just for a tinpot cheap deal. All within reason though I'm not suggesting we go out a but a 50m striker or anything just want us to get this one right so if we actually rate Adams higher then okereke let's get him
-
We are stupid if we let him go on the cheap.. has far more talent then Redmond will ever have. Give him a long run in the team and he would do at least what Redmond did last season. And then would probably be worth 40m. For morocco he looked the class act when he came on and that's in a team including ziyech

Tbh haven't watched enough championship football to have a concrete opinion on this, Adams was in the nominations for championship player of the season though and has better stats then James so guess he had a better season not saying that means he has higher potential. But still Adams is young English hit 22 goals I'd say that makes him one of the top players in the championship and also has the pace and physique to look like he can step up.. Maddison went for 22 m also so why do u think Adams should be so cheap in comparison ?
-
I think we are probably slightly under the value for Adams maybe should be about 16-18m considering the prices other championship players are going for.. think we are trying to play with brum thinking they are weak.. Problem is it is probably going to be hard for us to sign anyone even as proven as Adams For 14m Maupay seems to have a 20m valuation. I wonder if we actually rate Adams higher then the likes of augustin or whether it's more that we think Adams is in our price range
-
Is there anything really concrete in the article ? Doesn't even really say that we have made a bid of 14 m?
-
Don't you think the signing of djenepo, makes the likes of lookman or promes extremely unlikely ? Seems to me they are in a similar mold and I'd be very surprised if we shell out another 20m on this type of player?
-
But still what do you think he's gonna say..that he's not happy and this club sucks and he's only here to get a move to a bigger club? players and managers in general are programmed to say what the supporters and owners of the club want to hear.
-
Yeah much better to wan k over pretty much every player we get linked with and hen slag them off after a few games.. even elyounoussi and vestergaard were made out to be world beaters when we weren't signing them. No ones really writing off Adams's but having an opinions fine. I agree personally his shots in the video look scuffed and scruffy finishes.. but I'm also very excited by his pace and power so can see both sides myself.. augustin would have been my preference .
-
Tend to agree.. something about his finishing looks kinda scruffy and scuffed. And makes me wonder if he's got the technique for the prem.. on the good side though he's seems to have all the physical attiributes built and pacy
-
I'm a big believer in players having to have a decent run in the team to hit a rich vein of form, which is exactly what Redmond had last year.. the season before him and boufal were pretty much chopped and changed with each other and it didn't really benefit either and there stats were pretty similar. Jwp another that benefitted from getting a decent run, many fans thought he was gash before.. and then we have the likes of gabbi decent player but getting the odd start of being brought in about 75 mins wasn't helping you could see him trying to impress by trying to hit long shots all the time as he had little time to impress and make a impact.. Re Armstrong pretty harsh imo.. he looked one of our more creative and intelligent players in some games.. and had some guile about him which is quite rare in our team also full of energy and has a shot on him
-
Might be on my own here but I'd still rather we just gave boufal a run and concentrated on plugging the more important hole like striker centre backs etc, we also have Armstrong who still looks to have decent potential in a attacking role. I'm quite convinced If we gave boufal a big run in the team he would never at least equal to Redmond and I think his ceiling is much higher.. better at dribbling and beating a man, better shot better technique in general. Would really like to see what he could do under a manager like Ralph .
-
Thing is Ralph pretty much said that he only let Cedric go, so as not to block the path for valery.. so seems a bit strange. Personally I just want to see the gaps plugged before anything else . We need a centre forward and we need a cb.
-
This djenopo guy does look exciting, crazy some crazy skills and step overs in that vid but looks a bit raw on end product from what I've seen.dont mind us bringing in him or lookman etc at all, but striker and cb should be the priority. We still have boufal coming back hopefully who could be like a new signing and will certainly be better then moi
