  1. I feel dirty. Just as I came over Butser Hill this evening a blue transit covered in Portsmouth signs drove up the Petersfield slip road. It also had the sign 'Books Purchased' emblazoned on the sides. I was sorely tempted to open the window and give it an appropriate salute but, Rallyboy can vouch for my ladylike decorum and refained nature, I forebore to do so. I averted my eyes from TCWTB who was no doubt driving. :-)
  2. They all look like those people in early 19thC photographs when they all look at the new fangled stuff the photographer is holding.
  3. A few years ago Portsmouth had a calendar where only one of the players was left by the end of the year..
  4. Hadn't thought of that, but not being in the qualifiers will make quite a bit of difference in what they can do. Hope they don't overdo it though.
  5. On a match day.
  6. How about a dare. Pint to anyone who goes in the pub and innocently asks "How long has that sign been up for?"..
  7. That's a bit tabloid, isn't it? Mind you, my opinion is that Saint Charlie is a bit that way..
  8. Oh, Jimmy, you cruel thing. I suppose we have sink schools in the south as well.
  9. Bit late for Pompey. Does that mean their cash flow is really quite healthy? /coylyinnocent/
  10. Didn't see the game, but in this live guardian report the photo shows what great height he got for his goal: https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2016/may/29/barnsley-v-millwall-league-one-play-off-final-live
  11. Perhaps Under Armour will pay! Anyway, despite being old enough to remember Keegan's arrival, I don't think it's going to be us, boys and girls.
  12. I'm afraid skates are bottom feeders, and I don't think we'd want our players in the mud and fat of Fratton. Besides, where would they train?
  13. Can't you use the phrase taken from (I presume The News' ) article: "the latest bid to escape League Two." :-)
  14. One of my locals has their ale. Seconded.
  15. I've had my credit card bill. :-(
  16. "Mané would cost significantly more than the £20m earmarked for Götz" says The Guardian article. Indeed. "So you're not leaving for European football then, Sadio?"..
  17. I wasn't in my normal seat so ended in the Itchen wing towards the Chapel. I can confirm it was c**p there too. Fine down in the concourse, FWIW.
  18. How about a pay per goal/assist remuneration package. "Yes Zlatan, _you_ can have the penalties..." :-)
  19. According to a report I saw somewhere he wants to go to Man United and wants £220,000 a week. Is that how negotiating works then?
  20. :-) You learn something every day! Certainly not that big vic is angling for more money.. Perhaps they should sit him down in front of a massive screen of the final league table, show him we were only 3 points off the CL, show some horror videos (his sending offs) and then ask him, "Is it really CL you want?".
  21. I'm sure your right, but it gives PFC the chance to blame them. On the other hand who would want them? Eastleigh, Forest Green Rovers, Bognor?
  22. Hmm, both players quite old. They might re-sign them, but later on, when the first season ticket money starts rolling in. Talking of which..?
  23. Plenty of clubs (let's ignore WHU!) think it's worthwhile to expand. Having just received my credit card with the season ticket on it I know why lots of people don't go! With more affordable tickets a younger crowd would help with the atmosphere too, and it's all part of the growth of the club. Having another 8000 wouldn't be massively difficult to fill with a slightly different approach (prices, sales points, advertising, larger away allocation etc.). It might make the council force them to reinstate the free buses which we had as part of planning consent before the club's financial difficulties.
  24. Couldn't afford to go to three games (got to keep some money for later...) but at least the group stages make planning a bit easier. Sassuolo is a tiny, tiny place so that would be good. They don't even play in their own ground (4,500) since they got to Serie A, but at Reggio Emilia - still only 20,000. It's all fantasising until the draw though, so best to avoid wasting too much time on it.
