  1. Given the amount of bullying that goes on here perhaps it's you who should be a little more sensitive. All I can say is that it's good we're not standing still.... and struggling to find the funds to pay for some rented facilities... Right, back to the PTS thread, and thanks MLG. It's not something that's at the top of my interests, so I'm posting not so much out of interest but because I don't like bullies. If you're not interested guys, don't bother posting, it's really quite simple. Sorry The Kraken for using your post for a wider point.
  2. Or XXXL and I'll get a belt and make it into a short dress. I'm in a good mood: GB women have just beaten NZ in the first event of the olympics. Some good passing and control but not the consistency. Good to watch though, and can get a ticket for Wembley next Tuesday....
  3. I was wondering, that's why I mentioned it... And I did specify an M&S 16 too. 'Cos I'm a footballer I'm an easy 14 lower down but that doesn't help much. But how the heck are you (I've seen pics..) and Alpine and all the other nutjobs going to cope. I suspect many of them have a certain embonpoint.? OK, XL!
  4. Never stopped him before...
  5. But wait until you've heard what they've got say first. Don't forget to record it on your phone..
  6. Ah, you've just reminded me Hants FA owe me some money! I went on a course they organised for junior team organisers/coaches and Jon Gittens didn't turn up. Then I moved abroad and couldn't do the alternative dates. The advantage of pitches here is that they're all surrounded by fencing, and parents can't get in. You still see in the disciplinary bulletins that coaches and clubs are fined for fan's behaviour 'per abuso nei confronti al arbitro', etc. but when I've helped out at girls junior tournaments the parents seem ok. In general coaching seems good and we certainly do a fair bit of ball and positional work and hitting it long is frowned on in training so even at my advanced age I've improved. [bl***y hockey at school.:-( ] Haven't really got anything to compare it with in the UK, as it's all changed so much in the last 10/15 years. But my team have a goal-keeping coach, and a masseuse comes along to one of our 2 training nights and for home games, so a lot better than I'm used to. I've got the programme on my desk here for individual training before team training starts mid-august (glad I went out earlier as it's probably still over 30 here) and at the start of pre-season we train every day. Luckily I shall be in the UK! I've run the line for a friend's team in Sunday morning football when they had no-one else and even got an award from the ref: I gave a goal decision against my own team when it went over the line with the ref unsighted. The other team all appealed, ref looked across to me and I pointed to the centre... Didn't get any grief from friends except 'are you sure'?.. I believe if a player at adult level = 15+ - is transferred the original club gets some of the costs of training back, even at our low level.
  7. The Appy facepalm one is good. How about on the back "We DID warn you!"... Either way, have a beer and go with flow, I'll have one anyway: M&S size 16, Thai sizing gawd knows!
  8. I've seen you down _various_ pubs D, although admittedly on match days. I reckon £700 from any pre-match pub! The only problem is we've got to organise it for before the start of the season. Haven't checked the € today but put me down for €10.
  9. What? To make breadcrumbs?
  10. Ah-b****y-men.
  11. Q: You have been quoted as saying " Our costs are more than £1 million, which we will never recover." Can you enlighten us on this as it doesn't seem normal behaviour for an insolvency practitioner. [in other words, why the f*** would you sustain an insolvent club with your own money? Do you expect to get these monies as a football creditor?]
  12. PS: what was the final score tonight. I think the thread should know, just for the record [or have I missed it?]
  13. The team I play for, we take it in turns to wash the kit. (Me being crafty when I played on an artificial pitch!).
  14. I think a new phrase has entered the public arena, thanks to Guan2.0. I should point out that both skates and eels are already at risk species..
  15. .. and he doesn't want that to happen because he wants to trouser the money himself, as we've said all along...
  16. Another post from your morning commute Trousers? We'll let you off, but good advice from THEVMAN s0 I'd better get on with my to-do list, now gone all posh on my new phone. It's one thing losing a post-it but gawd help me if I lose this! [Might sneak a peek in an hour, though; and who can resist the PTS thread?!]
  17. Just got myself my first smartphone. Marcellus, no you stupid thing marvellous, now I can be entertained everywhere.. Plays videos too guan! Who needs games when the pts is on tap...
  18. MLG: you need to Twitter someone a link.....
  19. Source? Perhaps Dann has more potential than he showed, or wanted to show at Blackburn? P.S. Saint Charlie, I laughed...
  20. You'd have thought so, wouldn't you, but I've been constantly amazed how such concepts as cash flow and solvent trading have completely passed them by in the past..
  21. Good point! We've been so concerned about getting better that perhaps we're forgetting it's a squad game and some players will want to play.
  22. Sounds like fun! Think I'll do Dune and Turkish first coz they remind me too much of some of the primary school kids I teach: always trying to push the boundaries because it makes them feel older. To be honest GS I'm not to sure about you, but if you promise to be good...:-) Bearsy I'll probably leave: he just needs a pat on the back and a 'there, there'... :-)
  23. Abssolutely, I think you reflect a general feeling amongs fans, at least those on the forums. Plus you identified the role of Barclays... I don't get the same level of intelligent analysis from what I have seen amongst Portsmouth fans. I'm back in the UK in a week and will be visiting the village where my house is, and talking with a few friends who are fans so I'll reserve judgement until then..
  24. Yes. Off the bench as a forward and a few full games as keeper...;-)
