Cold! The pubs are busy and we'll all be leaving them as late as possible! I'm playing in goal tomorrow and am going to freeeeze!

It's not often I agree with Charlie Wayman, but as quoted above Blackmore made an obvious leading question ("I thought") which isn't particularly professional. 'Well done on the clean sheet, how did you read the game' perhaps? It was a hard watch, and in the first half there were times that all the outfield players were in their half, which seems to be standard MO for most teams playing against us, and we find difficult to cope with. As it opened up in the second half after KWP's goal we played better football and some good interplay, but will nobody shoot or take responsibility please? At least the trains were operating and I was able to have a few drinks. Incidentally, The Junction in St Denys has reopened and it now looks like the new owners have decent standards including hygiene: I know someone who did some work there for the previous tenants and they would have struggled to get 0 stars!

Including age, by nearly two and a half years, which makes a big difference at this age. Personally I think he has more potential than Tella: faster, a decent and better touch but still lacking the decision making that experience will bring. I've seen signs of better movement too. So all in all not an "insane opinion" and I wouldn't make quite such dogmatic statements for such a young player, new to English football.

I didn't know that, thanks. That's why I kept quiet about it. Unfortunately I couldn't get there last night but I'll arrange things that I get to the next midweek match at St. Mary's, it sounded like a good game, and good to see Millie Mott back from suspension.

Exactly this: there was an Everton fan's article in the paper I read (the usual moans), but unfortunately they didn't open it for comments as that would have been exactly what many other fans would have commented..

Possibly, but he's right about CB Fry.

Sorry mush, I was playing, on a soggy Southampton rec pitch with tufts of grass that a cattle farmer would look on with avarice, a fine sea fret and a cross wind that a tea clipper skipper would have exploited for a record passage.. Plus I pay subs for the privilege! LOL

Dodgy pint and the shits?

Interesting article in The Guardian today: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/nov/14/james-ward-prowse-set-piece-mastery-football-west-ham Some pointed comments below the line about how he's only getting the attention now he's playing for WH.

Can't comment on how we are going to play but am sure it will be better than the two times I have been. Jake Thomson ISTR coming on as sub in a 3-1? defeat back in div whatever, and more recently when I think it was a draw but courtesy of some really good pubs and getting in by train I can't really remember. The Rat micro-brewery was good as were the station pubs, and the first time there was a food festival in the station approach. As you can tell, the football wasn't memorable!

Much as I like dancing round the room or jumping out of my seat when we score last minute goals I really would prefer the situation we had against Leeds. Still the Saint's fan's paranoia that they might score etc.... but a so much more relaxing and satisfying experience. How about all the half chances going in for us? Another Boufal like goal? A subs appearance by Stewart with a first touch goal. Sulemanna getting a deserved goal. Bazunu with an assist. A hapless full back giving us an own goal. I shall have some blue cheese with my meal tonight and dream all these events into existance..

Well, at least his shorts do...

Reminds me of an Italian internet cafe' I once went to. The previous person on my computer had been searching for 'neked boys'. As a teacher of English I was deeply disappointed..

Been a while since last "where are they now (posters)" thread?

Who could forget his critique of '50 Shades of Grey'?! -
Thanks in advance to anybody who supplies a working stream, I haven't tried any yet today. But based on recommendations in the past I'm sure some of you must like granny porn! 😉

If only indeed.. I've removed the smiley because his comments on this thread are all of a piece with his normal unpleasant posting style.

So if it's a boring 0-0 draw I presume the chant will be "They're getting sacked in the morning" by both sets of fans? With the early kick off I'm thinking if we win to go for a few drinks afterwards before getting the train. If we lose I won't bother and travel home sober and grumpy!

Well, the local pub did show the game, amazingly; there was another Saints fan there too, but I'm not sure whether seeing that games was a good or bad thing.. At least I stayed to the end, spent a bit on a few beers and had some interesting conversation with some non-Saints fans. But what a hard watch: poor passing, often behind the player even when not under pressure, early on a bit of movement by the forwards but no early balls to them, then later no movement at all. I really shouldn't shout at the screen like I do! So many players receiving the ball when static which doesn't help when you are attacking, a cross by Kamaldeen (I think) with about half a dozen players back in midfield (more shouting at the screen..). I'll be there on Saturday but it's very difficult to be my normal optimistic self, which is amazing in itself, having been a Saints fan for 50+ years!
-
Blimey! That is an attacking bench! I'm going to wander down the pub and see if they can split the screens and give me a black and white one in a corner, seeing as the main ones will no doubt be showing Sandcastle in the Champions League. If they can't a quick drink and home to look for a stream, so any suggestions welcome. Not sure I'd bother following with the depressives on here.

He'll tell you afterwards, just like all the gamblers here tell you about their wins afterwards..

Pample, I think it's meant to be poetry. Here is my contribution: When we are good we're very very good, And when we are bad we are horrid
