For goodness sake don't give Turkish more things to be triggered by! 🙂
-
I can never remember games or results, but I've been there once and we lost, no other memory.. Apart from the taxi, from the city centre pub, which had a flat, as did his spare - "oh, it's been like that for a while" he said.

There was a newspaper article I saw with the Ipswich manager (ISTR) on the occasion of the last round of the FA cup and she touched on this whole issue. Hang on..
-
Billy, Billy, don't quote him! 🙂 So Dman thinks this is agressive: " some of us have him on ignore for reasons which don't need explaining..". Does Turkish do too or does he just hope to tar by repeating the statement that I'm abusive. "Uppity female" perhaps, or once saying I must wear dungarees, being a lesbian and all that. 😉 And they say we're snowflakes! Anyway, I didn't know about the shirt situation until it was brought to my attention on this thread, so thank you. It is a serious issue and from the point of view of football I hope that the worst of the cases like Astle occur far less with the lighter modern balls, but it's obvious that more research into the long term issue and better protocols are needed for concussion cases.

What language do you think it was? I didn't realise that the asterisks I actually typed would trigger you.. As for the aggression on my part, really? He expresses some deeply unpleasant opinions against various minority groups whenever I see him quoted, he starts strawman threads complaining about said minority groups or equality issues just so he can then complain and express his own opinion; but perhaps you've never noticed because you agree with him?

Just anger mate, just anger.

Don't quote the ****, some of us have him on ignore for reasons which don't need explaining..

'Biggest stupid thing' - Redknapp on joining Saints
suewhistle replied to Wurzel's topic in The Saints
We might all do that clapping thing instead. Once it's been officially confirmed... -
Just seen the match preview in the newspaper and it's Effing Mike Dean. Apparently his real name is Mike Dean but for a long time I thought it was my first version as so many people called him that..

Wince..

As I type it's 4, but the MBM may have since been updated..

Looks good!

Congratulations! I suggest you change your name to Veryskintsaint..

Just to add to my previous comment, but the reason I was reasonably sanguine before the game was due to how much better our squad is than last year. I appreciate that we will need to replace Long and Walcott, but the others coming in didn't look out of place. Diallo gave the ball away a bit but he wasn't hiding, which you sometimes see from players, Smallbone was obviously rusty but has a bit of pace and moves well, AA put the effort in and his contribution was really useful. We know Valery and Stephens are competent even if not first choice, and it's good to see the former back playing after being in the wilderness. The less said about Djenepo the better: my only hope was that he might score a goal as a result of some unexpected play which would bamboozle everyone, including himself.

Just back and enjoying a cuppa after an entertaining evening. I hope all of you who saw the line-up and didn't watch found something useful to do after your attack of the vapours. Washing up or the ironing might have been useful. A bit disjointed at times, and the debate in my section of the crowd was who was going to replace Djenepo at half time! Some of my ingrained pesssimism when it comes to Saints (or "experience" I like to call it) meant that I feared they'd nick it at the death, but to be honest, for all their experienced, physical team they didn't really create too much. Dawson is a donkey, which helped.

Bloomin' Eck! That reaction, by the way, is at the over-reaction of some of you. It's a weaker team than I'd have liked, but I can't quite manage the pearl-clutching hysteria of some of you. I'm pleased that one Armstrong is rested and the other gets a chance. Not much point having a squad if you don't use it, and certainly they need first team minutes to help them, so when they are called on from necessity they are ready.

Rossini's cat duet?

I'm not sure about "OK", I was thinking during the match how much he was struggling although he looked a little better in a few attacking moves in the second half. As for Williams, I didn't even notice him either way, so we saved ourselves a wasted loan fee there..

I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere on the board but an interesting article in The Guardian today: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/feb/25/ralph-hasenhuttl-finds-space-to-instil-change-in-southamptons-youngsters

That's a commitment! I wonder what they get paid? Enough to help when you are a student I imagine, and they won't be paying match fees like most amateur footballers..
-
When I've seen the odd clip of their games they all look pretty fit and trim to me, so I wonder how often they train? Certainly some of their opponents have had players more like the build I see down in the lower reaches of the Hampshire leagues, where we have a nice mish mash of old and young, fit and unfit and slim and solid..;-)

Glad I saw this thread: no email notification for the game although plenty of other posts from the club. Just booked in my row although not my own seat.
-
Same around where I sit. I got home OK with some delays to the trains but it was all a bit twitchy and a packed train. The guy next to me normally gets the train in from the north but drove due to cancellations. I wouldn't have risked it for an evening match and on Friday against Norwich think I'll drive.
-
No you don't, and if you're that desperate I'll send you a PM.
-
Trains are running from Chichester to Southampton with a few changes and cancellations so getting to the game shouldn't be a problem, although I don't know what it's like further East. The wind will make the game interesting... My game tomorrow has 50+mph winds forecast so goal kicks will be fun, they don't go very far at the best of times!
