  1. It's a bit dangerous being an ITK on here but none of what you said seems ridiculous, and certainly Spurs would see JWP as being in their (Levy's) budget. I wonder if losing against Ajax will impact their spending? PS: did you ever get that PM?
  2. It's rather a long list. I think he's operating on the Dalek principle..
  3. Boom tish..
  4. Exactly my approach. Early in the season I started to think what I could do with the money I spend on going to Saints but I'm now enjoying going again.
  5. Yep, 5th June. Must be worth £3.50 on a cheap day return from my local station to have the opportunity to give him the finger. Heard the news when I popped in to my 90 year old mum this afternoon. "Boo" was her immediate response!
  6. A few useful subs there though. 90 minutes would be too much for Lemina, Ings and Valery all coming back from injury. Sims can come on when Watford are tired and a few are on yellow cards, which might give him a bit of protection.
  7. Wish I could remember but I wasn't driving.. but I think it was The Crown Posada. Lots of good ales and lovely ceiling fanlights, friendly home fans too.
  8. Hope you're feeling fit, there's an awful lot of stairs to get to your seat. The only away ground where I've been wary about standing!
  9. Don't forget the toilet roll for the changing rooms this weekend.. It's on the OS. Announcement regarding new organisation at the end of the season.
  10. Crap beer.. Not that I ever have any these days, I get my pre-match sedatives in early.. :-)
  11. It'll be an old photo of whatsisface (ah yes, Milan) on a JCB with a bit of photoshopping Mac, sorry.
  12. Doesn't look like any of the examples shown would fit Charlie Austin..
  13. I'm sure I've read or been told by a coach somewhere that throw-ins are one of the situations in which teams are most likely to give the ball away. But I recall years ago shouting at our players at throw-ins to "move!", so it's certainly nothing new. Having said that we still need to improve. We were actually practising them at my team's last session which was back on our home pitch under natural light: a useful exercise as we realised one of our recent recruits can get it into the area on our narrowish pitch. As pointed out above it would be useful if we too could occasionally use longer throws to be slightly less predictable, so V or JB would need to take more throws, otherwise them trotting over would be a sure fire sign it will be going long. Waiting for the usual full back to take all the time also allows the opposition to get in position and a bit of quick thinking by somebody near to the ball might end up being profitable.
  14. Must admit this thought occurred to me too. I think the crowd is pretty realistic in respect of transferred players: most know the score. Incidentally, something I learned at S.U.S.U. meetings in the 70's. Hissing is far more effective and unsettling than booing. Go on, give it a try. (Possibly not against Spurs where I believe it can be misconstrued..)
  15. Did anybody else laugh at this satirical post?
  16. I remember him as he stopped playing well and was obviously angling for a move, or at least that was my opinion at the time. We took him out of non-league football but I've never heard him mention us once. Mind you, not having a TV means I may have missed the occasion!
  17. Let's hope it's a celebratory hangover! I don't get drunk when I'm depressed so all mine are celebratory! Here's hoping..
  18. Does your user name refer to the team at that time or you? :-) Or both?
  19. Oh gawd, I now feel old. For an additional Liverpool connection does "ale house brawlers" ring a bell? :-)
  20. Danbert, worth mentioning again but you have to be a bit quicker to be up-to-date with this thread! Have a look earlier...
  21. Hah! Colin will implode. The Gyardian live feed: "I am not certain Neil Warnock respects the democratic will authority of the officials. " :-)
  22. All local football is off round here and everybody is down the pub watching, but going there and jumping up and down when Sunderland score is probably not a good idea, and schadenfreude is not a virtuous feeling. If enjoyable.. Radio Solent it is then..
  23. Aargh, glad you wrote that as I hadn't realised it had been changed. I'd better start changing my social arrangements...
