  1. Also, many of them are quite sensible posts, leaving aside this thread. I reckon _I'd_ be a better CB than Timmy Mallett although I admit 90 minutes would be beyond me these days!
  2. That was an amusing read. Although I thought we were gone I never completely gave up hope but forbore to express my opinions as it would have given another opportunity to the usual opinionated p**ts who are always so certain in their own opinions.
  3. I'm going to wait for The9's input again. He's been a bit quiet!
  4. So Boufal copped it because he thought Hughes was blaming him for the defeat when he didn't even get on. The article paints a slightly different picture to the story we've heard of refusing to warm up. But the fact that some other senior players wanted him to train with the U23s must mean other incidents or attitude problems - I can't see this the result of just one event.
  5. I strolled back from the village pub under a star-lit night farting merrily as I went. Whether it was the numerous and nervously drunk pints of Pots or my lunch I cannot tell and care less. The barmaid also gave me a litre of slops for me slugs traps, so result all round! I swore in Italian when Gabbi scored, but fortunately nobody understood! The above poster is right though: he held the ball up well, which certainly wasn't happening in the first half. On to Sunday and being able to make a noise and get my stress out of my system. I'm too old for these great escapes, I really am.
  6. Three pints and still not enough as a pre-med. When I get home I'm going to take an extra blood pressure tablet.
  7. Cheriton ffs.
  8. In the pub. Half way through pint of Charlton pots. I can't maintain this pace..
  9. Just changing to go down the pub. Getting there earlier than normal in case for some unlikely reason they're not showing it and I have to dash to another. Oh gawd, two pints a half, one at half time and at the end?.. Never been so nervous. Better put another £20 in my pocket.
  10. You're going with the grape then? :-)
  11. Eh? If we do beat Swansea it'll be our only chance to celebrate in a relaxed manner.
  12. I think this may well be a simultaneous equation. Your goalkeeper scores an own goal within the same period (or at least presents the ball to an opposition boot). So you're being unfair, it's quite complicated really. Like trying to work out whether Saints will stay up. :-(
  13. I'm trying to avoid thinking about it. I'm seeking to achieve a state of zen numbness and to keep my blood pressure under control. I may allow myself to join in a chant of 'Reed Out!'.
  14. I wonder what they're saying on the Stoke boards.. "anyone who appoints Hughes"...
  15. Is it my desktop screen or is that a p***-poor photograph?
  16. Splat! :-)
  17. That's the spirit! Probably a very large single malt..
  18. That is young! I went to uni when they gave you grants and getting in to The Dell cost 35pish, there were just a few mainframe computers around and researching newspapers involved ruining your eyes scanning microfiches. Anyway, you obviously feel every moment and have a very mobile face! Do you think you can keep that up for another 40 years? It's hard, I tell 'ee, it's hard!
  19. Ah. As I came out the station at 11 o'clock yesterday I joked to a policeman "Gawd, it's only Bournemouth!" with a smile. His reply "we hope so", which I now understand..
  20. I did detect some irony in there, so I apologise in that case for not reading this forum closely enough..
  21. Just seen the goal. :-) As an occasional keeper I normally have a bit of sympathy for keepers but in this case it seems to have disappeared. Why was he flapping his hands afterwards - he seemed to be suggesting it was somebody else's fault.
  22. I presume this comment was some attempt at humour? Yeah mush, all of us solid salt of the earth working class types, not a GCSE between us, we abjure the reading of books, our white vans are always dirty. So is my attempt really..
  23. Home with a cuppa after my first visit to The Guide Dog since our last win. Saints win and Southern Rail were on time, wonders will never cease. The sense of relief that flooded the ground at the end was palpable. The crowd stayed on to cheer and I think the players really appreciated it. They gave us something to cheer and how we did. Where has that Lemina been? I'm still expecting the worst, but that was so encouraging.
  24. Came through the station - heavy police presence..
