  1. In the absence of decent beer we had the red wine. In the absence of a train service I had to drive. So much for my promise that I'd go to The Guide Dog when we won..
  2. Unless I chucked it in the bin by mistake with the TV licencing letters I haven't received it.
  3. I'll teach it to my friends in the pub before the match.. Actually one of them used to be a lecturer of German so we should get the pronunciation right!
  4. Sorry to intrude on this thread, but as I can't PM Steve Grant could you point out to him I paid my subs on 22 November. This is the last of my 3 posts today...
  5. ooh er. Not Toys-r-Us any more? Interserve? They produce power from waste.. Naughty boy, Trousers. Don't leave us wondering.
  6. A small comment at the end of the Targett interview: "There were a lot of details in his meetings. Longer meetings than previously. More detailed, which is good." No complaint there then. As for the fitness aspect, I've never known an amateur player not to want the little short sided game at the end of a session, and there's always half-hearted grumbles at the time of doing the fitness work, but everybody knows it's needed. I can't see professionals being any different.
  7. @Lighthouse, could you tell SG that I paid my £5 to be able to rant at will back on the 22 November via bank transfer to a/c ******04, and could he reinstate my membership. Thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to post numerous celebratory posts on Saturday, but then I'm an incurable optimist..
  8. Well, we obviously wouldn't play Cedric..
  9. Don't think I'd argue with any of that. Perhaps the Northampton game was a way of giving him some much needed match practice and he will be in the squad for Saturday for his defensive qualities?
  10. Apart from Vestergaard it seems a pretty mobile team, or is that just me being cynical about Austin?
  11. Hoedt, you utter idiot.
  12. Pretty fair summary. There has been good football in patches and I reckon we're the better team, but oh dear, our defence.
  13. Maybe Marcus Barnes will make the squad?
  14. If you haven't seen the report, don't look and guess how many Chelsea have out on loan....
  15. They missed out Hesketh (and Flannigan.).
  16. If Saints are doing it he probably would be dead by the time of completion..
  17. At that money saints could build a 4G local pitch. They could name it it The Richard Scudamore Memorial Pitch and keep everybody happy unless the guy really is a money-grabbing whatsit..
  18. I've just told one of my football crowd and she said she thought something was going on. She can see the stadium from her house across the water and the office lights have been on very late all week. Her tongue in cheek question though: "will it help us put the ball in the back of the net?"
  19. Does being an unpleasant, patronising **** come naturally to you or did you go on a training course?
  20. As a moderator don't you think you should try and stay above the level of Cabbage Face et. al.?
  21. The great thing about being otherwise engaged on a Sunday is that I managed to miss watching the game. Saw on my phone at HT that we started with an og by Hoedt, and conceded in the last minute of the half, so all seemed to be going as forecast. I heard a bit of Solent which described a few promising moves, they detailed just how much MC had paid for their individual players, JWP seemed to be playing well and then I lost interest again and it was no surprise when they scored a couple more. I haven't fallen out of love with football yet: I was playing, we won and I scored a goal, but the Saints aspect is getting increasingly depressing.
  22. I respect you and your faux outrage. Can you please take this to the muppet show.
