Once you open this wound of losing when being 2-0 I fear that it will remain a mental trope unless it's ironed out quickly. That lack of confidence seeped through the team when the first went in (what WAS Bertrand doing?) and Brighton will be licking their lips at exploiting that. Need to get the mental coaches in quickly this week. PS Diallo should have come on way earlier to add muscle to the midfield. And Theo should have crossed to Adams when he shot from a stupid angle. Hope Theo hasn't got one of those 'must play' clauses...

Really the worst bet to win but got 10-1 on them when we were 2-0 up. Seen it so often before. Diallo was the one to bring on. Thought Bertrand played like he had eaten a full roast dinner just before kick off. Need to be bang on it against Brighton

Having said all of this I am so pleased about how we are turning out at the moment. Great team cohesion and unity, which is half the battle. Well done Ralph.

As ever stats don't tell the whole story. I thought Armstrong was good last night, and Djenepo kept getting caught or misplacing passes almost as badly as Redmond does. Armstrong was creative and strong off the ball, and presented a real threat. Sure, he got caught for their goal, but that was one dark spot. Personally I would cash in on Redmond this coming transfer window, and wondered when we heard he had a knock whether it was in fact him sulking about not getting picked again. But who knows. He distorts the way we play, which is about ball retention and re-transitioning quickly. He gives it away too much and dribbles down alleys. Anyone agree?

Saints comms need to start being a bit honest about quite what the problem with Salisu is. The speculation is helping nobody.

We should keep him for absolute emergencies and cup games. Hasn't got the temperament or skill for this league.

It’s not out of the question that we dip into the transfer market again in January for a striker replacement, surely, if necessary ? I reckon he’ll be out for months.

Great result overall but Diallo very rash and just shows how losing Bednarek and introducing Stephens is still a problem. Ralph’s management of games and subs still seems a bit slow. But hey. Great three points. Ward Prowse amazing again. And hope Ings okay obviously.
