I loved that era - including having players like Shilton, Ball, Channon, Nick Holmes, David Armstrong, Dave Watson and the rest. Quite a iot of people on here thought he was a great appointment at the time, muttering things about his excellent track record in Ligue 1. Which was a load of balls too. I suspect Tonda is a better manager tactically, but in this current period however he is is being shielded by how good Leo S is. If we lose him to another club or injury we will see how good - or not - Eckert is. But can't say I haven't enjoyed the points haul recently.
