I suspect the clamour for TV replays is all whipped up by...the TV companies. Oooh. I wonder why. FIFA/UEFA/the FA/The Premier League might not be keen to cede most of their power to Sky and have to pay for the privilege. In cricket the replay system has led to appeals, which has led to the umpire losing authority and respect. And bad/wrong decisions are still made.

I would have preferred it if he hadn't have been 'loyal' (do you have any evidence that West Ham did not pull out of the deal?) and would put a question mark over whether across the season he has been a net (no pun intended) points saver. I can quite imagine the picture Gold and Sullivan will paint of a high-flying club in a brand new post-Olympic stadium (which I suspect is half why they're involved) in a bid to lure someone cheap to give them stability, like Pardew.
