RK doesn't seem to bother taking people off just because they've been booked. Mane springs to mind in those 2-3 games when he was tearing around and throwing himself into challenges, even on a yellow he was left on.

3 years before I was born. Throwing away that lead at Fratton in our promotion season was devastating, I'd love to see us win there one day. Could be a very long time before we get another chance.
-
This is excellent. They're only 3 points plus goal difference above dropping out of the football league. Any chance we can send some of the U21s out to get some first team experience with some of their rivals? At first I wanted them to hang about so we'd have a chance to get them in the cups, but now that they can't even get into the same round as us in either cup, they may as well hurry up and get relegated.
-
Good time to play them, but we've got to be a lot better than yesterday. ------------Forster Clyne - Fonte - Gardos - Bertrand ---------Cork-----Reed Davis--------JWP----------Elia --------------Pelle Defensive solidity and a clean sheet please.

Come on Cambridge! Brilliant effort, would love it if they found a winner.
-
United have been ****e, completely devoid of ideas. Really hope Cambridge cause an upset.
-
Hard to see any, but there's always at least one. Accumulators are a nightmare with the cup games.

Not many all prem clashes so we'll be hoping for some upsets. Despite how we're going in the league, I'd love a cup run, as long as we can avoid replays I think we'll be fine. Friday: Cambridge v Man Utd 19:55 Saturday Blackburn v Swansea 12:45 Birmingham v West Brom 15:00 Cardiff v Reading 15:00 Chelsea v Bradford 15:00 Derby v Chesterfield 15:00 Man City v Middlesbrough 15:00 Preston v Sheff Utd 15:00 Southampton v Crystal Palace 15:00 Sunderland v Fulham 15:00 Tottenham v Leicester 15:00 Liverpool v Bolton 17:30 Sunday Bristol City v West Ham 14:00 Aston Villa v Bournemouth 15:00 Brighton v Arsenal 16:00 Monday Rochdale v Stoke 20:00

I haven't seen anything to suggest that Lovren is injured. Left out of the 18 for not being good enough, which I like a lot. Had a quick glance at twitter and he's still getting trolled left right and centre.
-
^^ on the other hand, if we get through the next couple of weeks unscathed and start getting our best players returning to action for the run-in, what a boost that'll be.

Excellent work.

That's a bit naive I think. He's been generally good but is often guilty of being glued to his line instead of coming to claim a cross or a long ball and taking the pressure off. Maybe his howler vs Aston Villa plays on his mind, I'm not sure, but it's definitely something to work on. If he was off his line quicker against Newcastle, with a big shout, there's no way Gardos would've felt the need to try to clear it, and maybe I would've had more dream team points over the weekend.
-
That could've gone either way, but you make your own luck. Unreal week. Harry Reed my MOTM. Stepped up to the plate and didn't put a foot wrong. Unbelievable shift from him and we needed to get at Newcastle.
-
Good value on QPR picking up points. 3/1 for the draw. I've got 1-1 @ 13/2 and 2-2 @ 13/1 to make it more interesting
-
QPR's record at home isn't bad. United's away record is bad. United have 6 points from the last 5 games, only 1 win. I won't be backing United in my acca, that's for sure.

Tough one to call. Missing Morgan, Vic & Toby is huge for us defensively, and Newcastle are so unpredictable. ----------Forster Clyne Fonte Gardos Bertrand -------Cork-----Reed -----------Davis JWP---------------------Elia -----------Pelle Off day for Newcastle, another clean sheet for Saints, 0-1. Saints labeled boring in the press, Koeman happy with "amazing schpirit and organisations" United drop points at QPR, fans have a meltdown.
-
Strange to see Bertrand playing in the advanced role when it didn't work last time, and Isgrove was the best player on the pith when he came on last time out.
-
4th, on goal difference, after a late equaliser vs Citeh pushing United down to 5th despite them winning. 1. Chelsea 2. Citeh 3. Arsenal 4. Saints 5. United 6. Spurs 13. Liverpool

Nice surprise

De Gea and some outrageous smash and grabs are the reason they're not floundering in mid-table with Liverpool. I don't buy into this whole 'getting results when you're not playing well is a good thing', because they've only really played well against relegation fodder, and not even regularly. This is a great time to play them. Big Vic, Schneiderlin and Davis as a midfield 3 please, Clyne and Bertrand need to get forward early to put them on the back foot and give their full backs/wing backs (depending on whether they're 3 or 4 at the back) a lot to think about. Get someone close to Pelle so he's not just trying to hold the ball up for himself, get runners from midfield into the box and we'll cause problems. United make mistakes every week, we just need to take out chances this time instead of letting them off again. Oh, and another majestic performance from Fonte and Alderweireld would be nice. ----------Forster Clyne Fonte Alderweireld Bertrand Schneiderlin Wanyama -----------Davis Long------------------Tadic -----------Pelle 1-2

That's what I meant. Wasn't properly awake at that time in the morning
-
On the game - they didn't come out to try to win it 2nd half, stuck 10 men behind the ball and defended well, we ran out of ideas. Not the last time that'll happen this season. Our balls into the box weren't good enough so we tried to play through the middle too much and got crowded out. I was calling for more width in the last 20 mins, I thought we'd have got a breakthrough eventually but we didn't do enough. Wanyama bossed it again, Davis class again, Fonte and Toby were strong and Isgrove looked great when he came on. Tadic disappointing again, not enough urgency from him, and Pelle couldn't find the chances he needs. Frustrating.

I was in Block 12 (Itchen/Chapel corner) and I had pretty much the same experience. It's not hard to be outsung when you've got 5k travelling fans, but giving them the whole Northam end just removes any chance of a good atmosphere from us. Got to give Ipswich credit though, they were very good apart from the several renditions of 'oh when the town'. What the **** is that all about?!
