Defending extremely well. Yoshida's best game in a Saints shirt. Toby, Fonte and Reed very good but my MOTM was Davis, we really miss him when he's not there. Class cross for the 3rd goal too. Long lively, should have been awarded that penalty. Everton were poor but still dangerous and we had to be on it. Big win ahead of the next few games.
-
We've got to keep Toby at the back IMO. Forster Clyne Fonte Toby Bertrand JWP Reed Davis Tadic Pelle Long Subs: Davis, Yoshi, Targett, Isgrove, Seager, Mane, Mayuka. F*ck me, I really wouldn't want to be forced into making a substitution with that lot available.
-
He's been poor, but what worries me is go reckless he is in the challenge. Could easily have picked up 2 bookings at Burnley but was let off, and the same thing happened last night. Should've been sent off. What's worse is that RK keeps gambling and leaving him on. Roll on the ACON when we'll have to give his place to one of the kids.
-
Surely RK is wise enough to make the change at HT then, like for like with Mane, maybe switching sides with Tadic to see if he gets more joy there.
-
How has he looked? I'm stuck at work and only keeping up on here & twitter. Has been useless with occasional flashes of being decent in the last few weeks IMO.

I'm sorry, but what exactly would you expect from a Southampton win away at Hull? 0-3 and 65% possession? Yes it was a wonder goal but they rarely threatened and we were fairly comfortable. A very well deserved 3 points. We were crap against Villa and their anti-football but that's hard to play against, you won't win them all over a season. And City will beat almost anyone in this league when they're on it, and they were at the weekend.
-
I'd say Shane Long was just as poor as Mane. We definitely need to go back to 3 in midfield and one of the 2 back on the bench. Hoping they get properly roughed up by Bayern tonight. 5-0 or so.
-
Very poor tonight, lapse of concentration for the goal and he never seemed to regain it. Must be hard though where he's been stood about scratching his arse for the last month. If he's stayed on his line I think Toby would've got to the ball first, he only pulled wide when he saw Fraser had committed. Shame as it gave Villa something to try to defend, and we were never going to score many playing that poorly.
-
Well I'm betting based on stats and form, rather than my irrational paranoia that we're going to balls it up. I'm on 0-1, 0-2, 0-3. Hoping we keep it tight.
-
Told you Gaston was sh*t! Bit unlucky really. It'll be really sweet if Spurs fail to win now. Even better if Hull somehow find a winner.
-
He was knocked off the ball a handful of times in the first 20 mins. I agree he's grown into the game though. Hull have been excellent so far but need another goal soon I think. Ben Arfa should've done better.
-
Gaston up to his usual tricks then. A few nice touches and a nice shot, but too lightweight and looks completely lost when Hull haven't got the ball. Still, my Palace/Hull double is still on, for now.
-
Won a bit on the football today, just put the odd £12 change on the perfect double for tomorrow - Spurs & Liverpool to lose. Just over 12/1

FFS. Eating my words again.

Welbeck never looks like scoring until he scuffs one in.
-
I'm blaming Lallana for the goal conceded. Is a team with Jagielka, Henderson, Welbeck really as good as we can find? All this 'future is bright' for England is ********.
-
Fernando Torres syndrome.
-
Clyne having a decent enough game. Lallana has beaten the first man roughly once out of about 5 attempts. England will never be a force if we're relying on the likes of Welbeck at the sharp end. Not even 'nearly men'.

Schneiderlin injured and withdraws from France squad

Nothing has been said to suggest he'll be out for several weeks. Get a grip. -
I'm in. I missed out on London so have signed up for Barcelona marathon instead, but that's on March 15th so should have plenty of time to recover for Southampton half. There are more local races than you might think. I see that Lordshill 10 mile has been mentioned, that's part of Hampshire Road Race League (HRRL) which is 12 races between September and June. Solent half marathon was good, started and finished at Blackfield & Langley's ground, out to Exbury then back along Lepe beach. Gosport half is tomorrow which is a good one, and I hear that Salisbury 10 in March is a good one. I didn't think much of Lordshill, lots of very poorly surfaced lanes and tracks for a road race, and the weather didn't do any favours.

I know a few lads (Saints fans) who are in the Aldershot end today as one of their mates is a Shots fan. Bet they're having fun.

Skates can't even get close to qualifying for an opportunity to face us in a cup. Part of me thinks it's hilarious, another part is disappointed.

They were shocking when I was last at WHL (1-0 Bale) Silent for most of the game, piped up with a rendition of our song after they scored in the 87th min, then filtered out of the ground on 89 mins. Poor.
