I think the biggest surprise is that West Ham are sitting 4th. They were absolute dog turd when we played them. Like us, fairly kind fixture list I guess. Still gotta beat what's infront of you though.

We've become good at seeing off mediocre and completely **** sides, can't get too excited yet though. Defeats to spurs and Liverpool tell us that, and they've both been well off the pace.

Jose Fonte in new Portugal coach's thoughts - Gets first Call Up!

Agree with this. He's fitter and stronger than he ever was and reads the game much better. Been a key player through our rise and seems to be loving the responsibility of carrying on the progress after this summer's turnaround. -
Shane Long's transfer surely cannot be described as 'astute'. I'll go along with the rest of it though.

10 changes for Spurs tonight, hoping they get stuffed regardless. Besiktas should be good enough to cause them plenty of problems
-
It's only on Sunday because Spurs play on Thursday night
-
Hopefully we'll still be in a couple of cup competitions for him to get some sharpness.
-
Yep, they can't even manage to get in the same cup draws as us any more. Funny, but also slightly sad. In a funny way.

Very hard not to be a bit smug at the moment. I might be getting carried away, but we really should be winning on Saturday, and there's no reason we can't go and make MP's life a bit more difficult next weekend. 2 wins and I won't know what to do with myself!
-
Or unless that run involves playing lower league opposition, some utter dross (WHU, Newcastle,) and a bit of luck (Swans). Long may it continue however. A win on Saturday and an expected bad result for Spurs at Arsenal and our trip to WHL could see Poch under some real pressure. I think I'd enjoy that.

An injury or suspension to Diego Costa, and Man City finding some rythym could still make it an interesting title race. It clearly isn't going to be as good as last season, but could still be a good one. I'd love to see Spurs and/or Liverpool have shockers this season. And QPR, another relegation could easily ruin them. They're a disgracefully run club and I hope we stick the knife in next weekend and batter them.

I'd start with the same XI as yesterday. The game should flow freely, and Corky is much better suited to that than VW, although he has massively improved in that aspect. The same change an always be made if we need to be stronger in the middle. Great to have good options.
-
Should be a really entertaining game. 2 likeable teams and managers who go about things the right way. Will be a tough one but they'll be expecting a difficult afternoon and there's no reason we can't come home with 3 points in the bag again.

Much better strength in depth than last season, presuming the new boys are up to it. ...........Forster Clyne Toby Fonte Bertrand Schneiderlin Cork/Wanyama ..............Tadic ...Mane...........Rodriguez ..............Pelle Boruc Gardos Targett Davis Cork/Wanyama JWP Long Very strong bench
-
Get Toby & Mane in asap, big Jos out on loan. Then turn off the phones, go home, put SSN on and watch the chaos unfold. That'd be ideal IMO.

Danny Welbeck - Told he can leave.. Only for mid table club

Goodbye England career. Only ever played for England because he was at United. No thanks, j-rod is twice the player -
No thanks. Exactly the dumb pacey wide man we could do without. Head down, run to the byeline and cross without looking up, or cut inside and shoot without looking for a better option, or beat a man with a heavy touch and lose possession, or try to beat the same man 3 times instead of passing. Has ability but lacks the intelligence to be coached into a proper player IMO. See Zaha, Redmond, etc etc, skillful but not team players. Anyway, I doubt AT is looking to leave Spurs, and I doubt Spurs are really looking to sell.

JWP won't be dropped. He had a decent game and his set peices will be vital against a team we're going to have to break down. Pelle didn't get much change out of Lovren and Skrtel, hopefully he'll have more joy against a weaker defence. I'd keep it unchanged, but if there is to be one I wouldn't mind Long for Davis with JWP moving back into Davis' position.

A good summary would be: 'Squad is worryingly thin, time is worryingly short'
-
To avoid a relegation battle.

I haven't had time to keep up with any of this today, and just read this last page first. There seems to be a lack of anger, misery and bed wetting. Is good news imminent?
