  1. Oh well. Still proud.
  2. Not a bad draw really, I think if we can get past these next two matches then we should start to look towards trying to win the thing................................ (why not?)
  3. That was actually a really useful win ahead of Leicester, Forest & Birmingham.... nothing to lose now in these games and they will all be very, very scared!!!
  4. Keep it up boys, if only to keep up with Brighton!!!!!!!!
  5. I'm trying to not get ahead of myself here....... wow!!!
  6. What the hell is going on. I think that video took me over the edge, its time to get the army on the streets - plastic bullets etc, who cares if it gets worse, who cares if some of these thugs die..... they're spoiling for a war and I would imagine that that is what they are about to get.
  7. The penalty probably wasn't a penalty, but Jack Cork did trip Max Gradel around the 65th minute, so ultimately it was evened out by the end. I'd rather have conceded that 95th minute penalty than that 65th minute one!!!
  8. Yup, Sunday Morning 2:00am on Fox Sports 1. Looking forward to our annual opening day let down...
  9. What will August prove? That we remain one of the slowest starters out of the blocks in English football. I would be stunned if we were in the top half by months end.
  10. He's fed up and he wants to leave. His body language also suggests that he knew Amy Winehouse was about to die and that he is an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He wasn't too happy that his Dad had burnt his toast in the morning, and he is concerned that Adam Lallana's arse tap in the changing room was more than just a joke.
  11. A Burnley fan, reacting to the news that they-who-must-not-be-named have made a 2 million bid for Paterson: I couldn't care less if Paterson leaves for the right money, but I'd rather hand Blackburn 60m than even sell AIDS injections to Portsmouth FC. Are you that blinkered that you can't see your club is responsible for further poisoning a debt ridden shambles that is professional football, whether that was the previous owners or not it was Portsmouth FC shafting their staff, stealing from charities and writing off debts that you should never have been allowed to be built up. If you were complaining when your club signed Defoe, Crouch, Muntari, etc on sub 20k attendances and if you boycotted the FA cup final and FA cup semi finals you bought your way to with a blatantly unaffordable squad, then congratulations. If you gullibly lapped up and enjoyed that time without questioning it your a complete retard and need to STFU. Protesting once the damage had already been done is like installing a fire alarm whilst your house is already a raging inferno, you reap what you sowe. Your club deserved to have been thrown out of the league completely, but instead got a slap on the wrist. Ask fans of Chester and the other clubs who were wound up for hundreds of thousands of debt if your club with over 100m of debt should still exist, Fratton Park should be a block of flats or a park by now. I had sympathy for Portsmouth fans to begin with but the club itself should no longer exist. Your fans since are revelling at chucking more money at ****, you'll end up the same way again, get a bit of success, get in **** loads of debt and start to protest only when you receive your next winding up order. I despise Portsmouth, Cardiff, Leicester, etc spending what they don't have and cheating to temporarily succeed and bull**** excuses like "it was the owners" when you all supported the teams that put you in the ****, all buzzed off transfers and all enjoyed your cup exploits before even protesting... I don't buy it, that's just a sympathetic plea. Portsmouth FC is a joke and should no longer be trading and you'll find this view from millions more than me. Ha Ha.
  12. http://www.google.co.uk/#sclient=psy&hl=en&site=&source=hp&q=jeff+gradidge&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=e28a0a03c8b215fd&biw=1366&bih=595 Well he managed 1hr 37min 11secs for the Great South Run. SIGN HIM UP!!!
  13. Oh noes, apparently we're doing a swap deal with Pompey - Tal Ben Haim coming to us and Rickie Lambert to them. Plus we're getting 1.6 million of Russian laundered money!!!! http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=424&fid=203&sty=2&act=1&mid=2117139236
  14. After beating Wednesday on Sky last season I think we're getting over the Sky 'jinx'. More concerned that we haven't won on the opening day in what... 11 seasons? That's the jinx that will continue and condemn us to a defeat in front of a big TV audience excited about the start of proper football again.
  15. If he does decide to go to Cheats FC then you would have to question his motives with a Premier League offer on the table. But nobody will question his motives, because no one has the balls. I see parallels with Qatar > FIFA and Pompey > Football League. Its just a horror story of cheating, cover ups, denial and brown envelopes.
  16. I'm gonna have a guess at Blackpool away. Based on a similar theory that sees top Premier League sides host newly promoted sides on the first day. Arsenal v Swansea City Manchester United v QPR Chelsea v Norwich City etc
  17. That sounds like an unbelieveably awesome trip!!!!! I was in London in 2007 and was 50m or so out from the finish line - Cancellara zooming by at the end right next to us by the fence to demolish the field will remain one my favourite sporting memories. Unfortunately now living in Australia means the stages tend to finish around 1am, so its quite an effort following the race... Good luck climbing the Isoard (eek)
  18. last year I shipped the sash shirt over the day it was released. this year I'm spending my money on the new Brisbane Roar shirt instead. does that make me a traitor?
  19. While this is all so hilarious the sad reality is that they will get away with it. There is too much wrong in the world of football and understanding this is something that Cheats FC are excellent at. If Qatar winning the World Cup proved anything, it proved that FIFA was corrupt and it proved that cheats do prosper. I fully expect any embargo, if placed upon them, to be ignored. I fully expect any financial restrictions to be placed upon them to be ignored. I fully expect any points penalty placed against them in the future to be successfully appealed in court. With characters like Lampitt and the Russian mafia lurking, they have too much power. On top of this, nobody has the balls to stand up and be the one to take them down. Injustice Mann proved this. I know that most of the footballing community are unaware of the whole story in this country - one of my mates who is a football fanatic said he would be "gutted to see them go", and I think that would be the case with a lot of people who just don't know the whole story. Therefore, who would want to be the one to kill them off? You would face the wrath of the average unaware football fan, the wrath of the violence that Pompey fans will likely conduct and most fearfully now, the wrath of the Russian mafia. I sit here today laughing but also realistic. I will be pleasantly surprised if any more punishment is inflicted to them, even though it is obviously deserved. They have already gotten away with too much for it to be a coincedence. In fact, doing the double over them next season would surely be both just, and punishment enough for the Cheats.
  20. When do we start getting concerned that our promotion was all a dream??????!!! On a different note the Roar pre-season is now well underway with wins over Redlands United and Peninsula Power. They play Sunshine Coast, Eastern Suburbs, Olympic, Melbourne Heart (rumoured), Ipswich Invitational, Rochedale Rovers, Wolves and Brisbane Strikers in other pre season games up to August. The Rochedale game on Weds 27th July might be a good shout for that pre-season meet up that was mumbled. And finally the old man will make an appearance on the Danny Baker show on Saturday evening (6:10pm to be absolutely 100% precise), as he's going to be 'reporting' on Redlands United v Olympic in the BPL. It will have to be heard to be believed. I'm sure he will tell more if he ends up reading this thread before Saturday..........
  21. The Carling Cup 1st Round draw is usually seeded. And divided into north and south for the first round as well (though they won't tell you this). So there will be no Accrington, no Burton, no Coventry, no Skates, no Forest and no Bristol City. The seedings usually include the top League 1 clubs as well. I hope we get AFC Wimbledon, Plymouth or Torquay personally.
  22. Great news for the other 23 clubs. Cardiff won't be as strong as they are know. Stupid fans wanted him gone, and now they will get what they deserve - failure, and more managers getting fired in quick succession.
  23. Nearly happened in the A-League this year!!!
  24. I wonder which club will make history and become the first team to finish 25th in the Championship next season? I'll plump for Pompey.
  25. Well done to Huddersfield, it was another great game for League One! But its great to see them get to the final, obviously its what they deserve. The push on the ref was an interesting one. He wasn't going for the ref IMO - and was nowhere near as bad as Emile Heskey's charge a couple of weeks back. How Heskey was not sent off for that, I honestly have NO idea.
