Looking at the League 1 season which has just finished, we would need the following points (based on starting with -10 points): Avoid Relegation - 60 Points Needed (1.3 pts per game) Reach the Playoffs - 86 Points Needed (1.87 pts per game) Automatic Promotion - 99 Points Needed (2.15 pts per game) I think as a club we just dont have a winning mentality, its not instilled in the players, fans or staff! I would love to see us winning most weeks, but unfortunately I just can't see it at the moment! I think we will do well to avoid relegation.

Im not saying this to attention seek (those on here who know me, know that isn't my style!) but there should be some news on this in the very near future! "People" are losing patience, shall we say! I have no idea about the alternative that Mark Dennis has discussed, but I just hope it is a viable option!

Believe me, this is a lot closer than many on here think. And I am not just saying that to stir things up.

It's a sad, sad reflection of our fans! Ormerod scored the goal to get us to an FA Cup Final, he should be cheered and remembered fondly by all of our fans! He wasn't the most gifted player, but that makes it even more special that he scored that goal and got to represent Saints in an FA Cup Final. The proudest day of his footballing career I'm sure, he must love OUR club! At other clubs like Man City, they love their try-hard players of the past, just think of Paul Dickov! He scored a play-off final goal for them, and they hold him in legendary status! I dread to think what some of our fans would make of Benali if he was still playing, he would get booed every week!

I can confirm 100% that Lupoli was at St.Mary's yesterday to discuss terms! My source is from within the club, but I will not be disclosing exactly who (for obvious reasons) Negotiations are ongoing, so I guess it's a waiting game to see if these are concluded! I must admit, I doubted this at first when I read the thread, but I assure you 100% that discussions are taking place!

I could not agree with you more! I am by no means happy with our league position, but I really do not believe we would be in a better position with a different man in charge! He has the hardest job in the entire league (why can't people see that?) and the poorest group of players to choose from in the league (without doubt!) It's easy for people to be critical on here with hindsight after games, and we all think we could make a better manager and do a better job! But in reality, I thing given the whole situation the club is in, we are doing well to be in touching distance of safety!

How times change hey...... a year ago, most of the users on this forum could not wait to be rid of Davis!

Schneiderlin, Lallana and Surman?

Simple Answer = VERY!! We are on a very dangerous slide at the moment, and that needs to be stopped ASAP! The confidence must be very low amongst this group of youngsters, and I am sure that they are questioning themselves as to whether they are up to this or not!

Does anybody have the link to this full story? I saw it mentioned in the BBC Gossip column, but no reference was made to Saints! (Or is that bit just a wind up?) Apparently, the story is in today's Sunday Express!

Thats exactly how I feel too! I am always telling friends that I would rather Saints won promotion than England win a World Cup, because I know which would give me greater pleasure! Most 'football' fans wont understand this, as they 'support' their big team from an armchair, and dont understand the true passion involved with folowing your local team!

I have this on VERY good authority! Obviously any deal can fall through, but this one is at 99% at the moment!
