Many thanks. Sounds good.

Can't get a stream. Anyone know what's happening?
-
Ok. I started the thread for the last round and it worked. COYS!
-
Not sure. Could Lee and Reed be playing wide with Gaston in the hole?
-
Highly amusing. You've clearly never met me
-
That's pretty insulting. And worse followed. Oh, and I have no problem with being questioned or challenged over a post. It's just the needless sarcasm. Give it a rest.
-
Surprised they haven't gone by now. Wonder how many left and whether they'll go to general ST sale.

To give you the courtesy of a reply, of course I put him straight. He didn't really have the intelligence to discuss though, just droned on and on in his awful Brummie accent. Would have walked out but did want to watch the game and there were no alternative bars. How you deduce (wrongly) that I was unable to argue with him or that, in your boringly typical offensive way that I know nothing about football, I haven't a clue. Haven't posted for some time and won't bother again. Am really p!ssed off with the way any straightforward post on the is forum is now just regarded as fodder for attack by the trolls.

It’s not arrogant to point out our strengths and express confidence over the outcome of a match. Not that I personally think that there is any team that I would feel totally confident of beating – anyone can beat anyone as has been pointed out. The arrogance that annoys me is that of supporters of teams living on past glories who assert that, just because of the name of their club they are of course better than a “little” club like Southampton who can obviously never seriously challenge for the top spots. And after we get results against these teams, this minority of supporters always assert that it was down to their “off-day” or our luck. I think the worst example of this that I has ever had the misfortune to come across was when I found myself sitting in a bar in Coralejo, Fuerteventura watching the Birmingham vs Saints game (the one in the snow) with just one other customer who happened to be a Birmingham fan. He spent the whole game explaining to me that it was ridiculous to think that Saints would be promoted because they were too small a club for the Prem, that Birmingham were a big club who would definitely go up alongside other “proper” Premier teams such as West Ham. I would like to discuss the current situation with him now.

Just get online at one second past nine. You'll be queued - no refreshing needed. I did it that way on Thurs. was 22nd in line initially but ordered tickets within a minute. HTH

Interesting read. One or two accurate assessments mixed in with misguided arrogant dross. They were a poor team who still managed to be dangerous on the rare occasions they won the ball. We dominated midfield, won nearly every second ball and dispossessed them at will. But I did agree with the point that for all our possession and control we created few clear chances and lack the final cutting edge. If we could just get Osvaldo and Ramirez firing properly ......
-
Looked that way to me. Took his legs with the ball. Must have been a clearer view from where I was as everyone went up for it.
-
I agree. Ramirez was a decent option, although in the conditions perhaps Lee could have been given a chance. Gaston doesn't really like cold, wind and rain, does he? But JRod was a bigger threat than Rickie - think he should have gone off as we couldn't sacrifice in defence as they still posed a threat and we needed to keep midfield dominance. Thought it showed that the team put I. A massive effort - there were clear signs of tiring by the end. Disappointed that we didn't get the win - might have done if the nailed-on pen had been given, but in the end a decent point and they couldn't score except with a freak 90 yard effort.

Palace, Sunderland, Cardiff.
-
Yes really. They are a different prospect this season. Still strong, but more football, less hoof. Taken a while to settle to the new style, but now playing some decent stuff. With string support, they'll be tough.
-
Will take your word for it as I wasn't at that one, but I've been there three times with no trouble.
-
Not true. The one pub near the ground is a Harvester, shared happily with home and away fans. Anyway, if you wear stripes, how could they tell?
-
Spent the night in a motorhome in Porlock on the Somerset coast. Pretty wild but still intact. The track shows the worst headed further south than expected. Glad we escaped the New Forest yesterday!
-
Didn't know about Davis. The way he's playing, would be a loss. Guess it would be JWP to replace? And maybe Ricky for JRod. Unless this is Gaston's big (last?) chance.
-
They're not all friends of the landlord. I'm not and I wrote a review. Excellent food and beer.
-
That's the one. Now just get it going!

Post Match Reaction: Manchester United 1-1 SAINTS
Shroppie replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
You are right. That is the rule for ManU at Old Trafford. Elsewhere the normal rule applies. -
It was 2-1. 3-2 at St Mary's.
-
It quite often is.
