Going to this one with an old friend who's now a Reading fan (despite the fact that his son was on Saints' coaching staff under WGS) We haven't been to a game together for 41 years! So will be in plain clothes at the Reading end. Situation will be reversed at St Mary's!

Don't agree it needs cutting out completely. When it works it's a great springboard for attacks. But if opposing teams press and close down we need to use the space that creates further up field and use the long ball to Ricky- as we did towards the end yesterday. Jack Cork is our main outlet for the short ball out and Burnley knew far too much about him.

For the first half hour I thought he'd lost his whistle. There's letting the game flow, but he let too much go on both sides.

Was at the game and would say it wasn't a bad point. Burnley had a game plan to keep it tight, stop us playing and catch us on the break with pace and for 70 mins it worked. They looked dangerous whenever they moved it wide - Fox was good going forward but not sure defensively. Think 451 would have been good for this one Chaplow made a big difference. Should start vs Cardiff. Can't believe RL missed the sitter. Headed it too well. Another 5 mins we'd have won. They were out on their feet and Ricky started to win everything in the air. Disappointing but no wrist slashing. Burnley looked much better than their league position.

Agreed Sky show lower league games. I may be wrong, but don't they have to show these as part of their deal to show Prem? It's the massive coverage of even the most trivial bit of Prem gossip and speculation over coverage of real news from the other divisions that drives me mad. And you're totally right about BBC.

Whilst I can't disagree about wanting to be in The League, which is the only one that exists as far as Sky and many others are concerned, there are many things about the PL that I dislike intensely. It's largely overhyped, again mainly by Sky because they have such investment in it they can't let anyone think that any game is less than brilliant. The players are overpaid and the finances of the PL have damaged lower leagues. And I don't agree that the standard is fantastic. Some games may be, but the way Saints are playing is better than plenty in the PL. The quality in the lower PL can be awful - give me a decent Championship game any day. Even last season I would argue that some L1 games showed more skill than the worst of Prem games.
