  1. I confess I didn't pay a great deal of attention to the debate. It was always going to be about Johnson trying to say nothing on policy beyond Get Brexit Done for fear of saying something even more stupid than usual and using personal attacks and lying about the opposition. But I would say Corbyn missed an opportunity. He did obviously decide on presenting himself as the rational, reasonable and yes, more statesman-like option but was too passive and defensive, especially on Brexit and the topics where figures are clearly distorted. Of course Johnson brought out his standard attack that Corbyn isn't clear on Brexit. In fact Corbyn does have a clear position but it's not dogmatically insisting that the whole party follows a Leave or Remain position. Why wasn't Johnson reminded that he was preparing to support Remain on the day before the referendum? Only the possibility of personal advancement directed his stance. And he has in no way been consistent since then. He voted against May's deal but is desperate to push through his own which is worse. He's evicted his MPs who won't back him, but you can be sure than many remain who are keeping quiet to protect their candidature. Pretending he's united the party is a farce. He may be closer to that in the Commons, but across the country millions of moderate (and mostly Remain) Tories are divided. Many will vote tactically. The opinion polls are not telling the whole story. Johnson is relying on party loyalty, ignorance of the real state of Brexit negotiation and weariness to get people buying into the simplistic idea that he'll make Brexit go away. He'll probably get away with it, but at what cost to the country? And on another tack, why on Earth was there no challenge to the small print in the Tory manifesto that alludes to sweeping changes, including taking away the judiciary's ability to hold government to account when they break the rules? The Tories, as expected, are fighting a lying, smearing, dirty campaign, hugely helped by their friends in the MSM. It needed to be met far more aggressively, but Corbyn has failed. 2. In other words, we want to be able to speak uninterrupted and unchallenged so that we can spout our propaganda, moronic soundbites and lies without the annoyance of an interviewer asking the wrong questions (ones we can't or don't want to answer) and stopping us answering questions that haven't been asked. "Informing the public" = "presenting whatever lies we like and expecting them to be accepted without question or challenge" Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  3. I'm not claiming this as original but his "oven-ready Brexit" is a turkey that's already been reheated twice and is unfit for human consumption. Will make anyone partaking very ill and, once Johnson has sorted the NHS, also very much poorer. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  4. In the light of Andrew Neil's challenge I'm predicting a Johnson YouTube release today giving jokey, simplistic soundbites answers to the questions (or to be more accurate, soundbites that mean nothing and are not answers) so that he can claim to have replied without actually having to face the grilling. He clearly will not do the interview. He can't answer questions, doesn't know the detail of his own manifesto, bumbles ridiculously and cannot afford to be exposed. What a mess. How can anyone take him seriously? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  5. But the four Tory candidates accused of Islamaphobia are getting the full support of Johnson and his ministers. Thought they said they had zero tolerance and would investigate any accusations thoroughly? Unless they're candidates in marginal seats, of course Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  6. Armstrong is injured. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  7. Not worth an argument. Sure I'd enjoy another win, but I've made my point. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  8. Wrong. The 0-9 came before the Man City games. And we lost to Bournemouth four days before Pompey, then took one point from the next three games. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  9. Ok, you're probably right. But I don't think it would be particularly beneficial to us. We've beaten the third-rate League One side and out them in their place. Satisfying, yes. And I know many will say they'd forfeit the PL to beat them again, but I wouldn't. I don't mean I wouldn't mind losing to them. That's unthinkable. If we play them, we have to make sure we win and that distracts from the main business. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  10. Maybe at home, I could agree. But since we played them, our form has been awful. The 4-0 gives us bragging rights until we next okay them and as far as I'm concerned about ten years time will be fine. I'm not sure we'd get a full house. We've given them a good hiding, now the priority is the league. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  11. Shrewsbury away would be convenient Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  12. Quite seriously, that's the last distraction we need. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  13. I did say consider! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  14. He's not fit. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  15. Basically same team but of consider Valery for Cedric, Boufal for Redmond and maybe Long for Obafemi. Redmond, Adams, Romeu Obafemi the main bench options. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  16. Can't help thinking back to the time last season when there were desperate hopes that we could find a way out of having to buy him. Long may he stay fit: he did say in pre-season he'd prepared better than ever before. Fingers crossed. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  17. Works for me. Basically same team but of consider Valery for Cedric, Boufal for Redmond and maybe Long for Obafemi. Redmond, Adams, Romeu Obafemi the main bench options. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  18. Well, twice in the last two games. Hattrick Weds? [emoji2][emoji2] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  19. That's frequently obvious from the disappointment (or certain posters just vanishing) when we do well. There's such a determination to undermine any good news. As a Saints fan of over 50 years I'll still criticise when it's called for. But the days when you could have a sensible conversation about the game on here seem well and truly over. 20. This is a very determined hate campaign. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  21. Watching the same as me. JWP put in a good shift. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  22. But just for the moment, I'm celebrating a win. You're obviously disappointed with that. But I'm a Saints fan. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  23. Just totally wrong. He had a good game. What is your agenda? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  24. Disagree. JWP contributed a lot today. The problem was a lack of movement in front of him, often forcing him to play the safe pass. I'd agree Cedric didn't have a great game - lack of forward driving when he had the chance. Yes, Stephens made a couple of mistakes, but overall I thought he was good. 25. I agree. JWP put everything into the game today. I'm hoping Armstrong will be back soon because in combination they're better. But the result was everything tonight Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
