  1. Just repeating what Whitey posted... A mural in honour of Marcus Rashford was defaced within hours of his missed penalty in the Euro 2020 final in what police are treating as a racist incident.
  2. Not hard to spot.
  3. Why don't you ask the plod, they are the ones treating it as a racist incident.
  4. I havn't assumed anything, you are the one assuming there is not small graffiti.
  5. There has clearly been some bits painted over as well, you can tell by the shiny paint.
  6. Nothing shows up very well on a black background, could easily be some smaller graffiti there.
  7. I couldn't see any racist wording in that pic, that doesn't mean there wasn't any racist graffiti on the wall.
  8. How do you know there is not other graffiti not visible in that pic?
  9. I have no idea what was written on the mural or wether it was racist, the police clearly think it was. The players clearly have received racist abuse on twitter though, as many have in the past.
  10. https://www.gmp.police.uk/news/greater-manchester/news/appeals/2021/july/police-are-investigating-after-a-mural-in-withington-has-been-vandalised/ None of the reports I can find say exactly what was written, not sure it really matters TBH wether the abuse comes via twitter or graffiti, no one is denying he was the victim of racist abuse as many of our players have been week in week out.
  11. I haven't seen a picture of it but the plod reported it as a 'racially aggravated act of vandalism' so that is why it has been reported as such. I guess if you are that concerned about wether what was written was actually racist you best ask the Greater Manchester Police. I don't think there is much doubt they have been on the end of some racist abuse through twitter etc, not surprised at the usual apologists though. We can all read between the lines.
  12. Probably why he will end up at Spurs.
  13. Think if you want to root out the idiots there will have to be some division. The majority of people understand the taking of the knee for what it is. The media, pundits, the FA, the players, the clubs and the vast majority of fans don’t have an issue with it.
  14. I would applaud them if they pulled out of the World Cup, doubt you Gammons would be that happy tho. Taking the knee is just a gesture but it is way more visible than the Kick it out stuff that preceded it. What do you want them to do, set themselves on fire?
  15. Putting a spotlight on the issue is more likely to effect change than just ignoring it though, online abuse is just part of the problem and there are obviously technical and legal ways of dealing with that. It will never get dealt with unless it is on the agenda tho.
  16. I doubt it has increased, it is just getting more attention from the media now. I think it has to be good that the issue is addressed, not just swept under the carpet with a kick-it-out T-shirt once a season.
  17. Of course there is hypocrisy, what is your point?
  18. How do you know they won't use their time there in a constructive way to promote an anti-racist/homophobic message? Whatever they do no doubt you Gammons will boo them.
  19. To show support for someone who has suffered racial abuse. Fuck me it's not rocket science .
  20. What difference does it make where these people are from?
  21. We let young players go all the time, how is that not effective management?
  22. "Play alongside Kane" - what a bunch of cunts. We all know Kane is going to leave and they will have £100mill plus in the bank soon.
  23. Except Le Tissier didn't just pick a spot and thump it. I remember watching him explain his technique, he always side-footed it in a way that if the keeper moved early he could easily adjust his foot to go for the other corner. If the keeper didn't go early he knew his strike would be powerful enough whatever corner it went in.
  24. Probably more than if it was just ignored/swept under the carpet.
  25. Some idiots will do it whatever but it doesn’t help with dog whistle politics trying to stir up a culture war just to try and get votes from knuckle draggers. When the PM and other politicians say it’s OK, and actually encourage people to boo anti-racism gestures it just empowers these morons and makes them think their views are acceptable.
