I think the fact that the last World Cup was rubbish will sway the decision our way, Russia is a bigger risk than England.
-
I fail to see how a website which exposes corruption can be a bad thing.
-
The area near me (Bursledon) was used as a camp in preparation for D Day. I only found out because I saw some strange cuttings in the river bank and wondered where they originated from so did some googling. As I thought, they were made by the D Day landing craft. http://www.qe2activitycentre.co.uk/hms%20cricket.htm

I think some incendiery bombs were quite small so I doubt all of them were accounted for.

Why is it so hard for some people to understand that it is the timing that has ****ed people off not the fact that FIFA has been exposed.
-
Because it would be nice to watch the World Cup in this country?
-
I couldn't care less how accurate it is, at the moment we need to suck up to those corrupt ****ers to get the World Cup. No one cares about what they broadcast, it's the timing. The BBC have deliberately timed it to maximise ratings/publicity with no care to what the effects might be. If we miss out on the World Cup because of this hopefully Cameron will rip the arse out of their budget, or even privatise them.
-
I have no problem with them exposing how corrupt FIFA are but the timing is ****ed up. Delldays is right, if all the BBC is concerned with is gaining ratings with this type of sensationalist crap then they shouldn't be funded by the tax payer.

I agree it is a roll of the dice but it is a roll that IS going to happen. Much better prepare ourselves for the outcome than try and kid ourselves that we can stop it happening. It makes sense to develop renewable energy and be less wasteful and I would carry on doing that. But I would spend more time and money on trying to predict what will happen and adapt the best we can to the effects. Noah built an arc, he didn't try to stop it raining.

Messi wins because Ronaldo is a cock.

I don't buy that Gulf Stream theory, just because they made a film about it doesn't mean it will happen. The idea of melt water from Greenland effecting the steam is sound, but surely if the UK is turned into Kamchatka then Greenland will be similarly colder and the process will be reversed. If the planet is a few degress warmer we might benefit from a nice cool North Easterly wind anyway. It's all guesswork.

None of the major country's leader give a damn, every developed country a the UN summit will only be concerned about: a) What is the best deal for them money wise. b) How can they appear to be doing something so that they don't lose votes.

I think you're falling into the trap of thinking everything is due to climate change. I don't remember scientists telling me 10 years ago that our winters will become colder. Fact is they just do not know what is going to happen - that's why billions is being spent on satellites that measure thickness of ice and water in the atmosphere. The UK could gain from a warmer climate. Arguing about it is pointless anyway, the fact that the UN climate summit is being held in Cancun, a city who owes it's whole existence to long haul flights, shows how futile it is to give a damn. Climate change will happen regardless, forget trying to combat it and just try and adapt - even James Lovelock is saying that now.

I think the cup can be a distraction, if we were a Prem or Championship team with a chance of going far it's worth bothering about but for us the only important thing is promotion. We already have a nice rearranged midweek trek up to Oldham thanks to the FA Cup, we need any extra injuries/suspensions like a hole in the head.
-
The scientists obviously know better than us about what is going on but their record for prediction is not very impressive. I'm starting to not give a ****e about climate change. I agree with the consensus, CO2 is warming the planet, it will be disastrous for some countries, but I don't give a **** because it's freezing in England, I would prefer it a couple of degrees warmer.

6/10 so far, the managerial instability has cost us big time. Optimistic about Adkins though, the team are playing good stuff and he's only brought in one player on loan. The league is there for the taking if he's allowed to bring some players in during the January window.

Why will the play-offs not be at Wembley?

This happened to us, best thing to do is change provider. The settlement figure should be low with your current people (say you have not be at this address much, work away from home etc). The new provider will take a reading and it will half a year before they realise the meter's busted and they wont have any previous readings to go from so you can shaft them as well. When they install a new meter, live in the dark for a month and they will probably give you a very low estimate. Then change provider again.

The pub opposite is called the Harrier so you're probably right. Dumb decision to get rid of the Ark Royal, the whole excuse for spending billions on these two new super carriers is that "we don't know what's round the corner", now we have no carrier capability. I would think if anything a smaller sized carrier is more appropriate to todays warfare then a super carrier. -

Ark Royal? -
Maybe the whitewashing was a work of art. An ironic post-modern reaction to the use of vandalism as a critique of modern culture perhaps?

I wouldn't read too much into that report, if anything I think it reads like the club are just trying to get the message across that any signings are out of their control and is up to the Football League. They might be trying to gamble, or just buttering the few up for the inevitable sales of their top earners. "Steve Cotterill has been told he can buy three or four players in January. Whether these are loan or free signings or for money depends but he understands the club has to work within its budget," a highly placed source at the club said. "The Football League closely monitors all of our dealings, which we respect." If they gamble and fail the Football League will look like a right bunch of idiots if they end up in admin again.

From my experience, based on a few Muslim friends, anti-semitism is wide spread and considered completely acceptable in most Muslim households.

It's not the bonuses themselves that is the gripe (although I think it was 5-6 billion handed out this year which is no drop in the ocean) but the fact that the banks are handing these amounts cash out amongst themselves shows how much profit the banks must be making. If the banks are making such huge profits why are we worried about the effect Ireland being broke will have on them?
-
Would these be "our" banks that are handing out billions in bonuses.
