While this is not a big issue I do fail to see SFC's logic behind this airbrushing out of former greats. Surely the 125 thing shows the value of history and traditions within football. Whenever I have been in the corporate at SMS one of the highlights is chatting and having a laugh with ex pros, listening to their stories and opinions on the game. Saints v Man U is on the TV mainly because it's a replay of 1976 - a traditional romantic FA Cup giant killing - surely it would be beneficial for the club to embrace that? Also I expect the current players look at how ex players (people they admire and look up to) are treated - are they part of a club or just commodities to be bought and sold? There's also a PR issue - the media are always in touch with ex pros like Le Tiss, Big Mac, Shearer, Keegan etc, why is it our interests for them to dislike the club? The whole thing is dumb - what exactly does SFC gain though freezing out these people?

Just seen the first goal on TV, Kelvin should be dropped. He could have smoked a cigar and come out and caught that. I'm fed up with watching Kelvin rooted to his line as the ball drops in the 6 yard box.

Le Tissier Snubbed ticket for United game ?

Oh FFS all Matt le Tiss did was try to save the club he loved, if you see that as a negative you are a ****-wit. We all agree that the club is in good hands, no one wants Cortese to leave, that doesn't mean you have to agree with every one of his decisions like some spineless wet mong. All the club legend wanted was a chance to BUY some tickets. That's give £500 of his hard earned to a club he loves to watch a team in a stadium that wouldn't exist if it wasn't for his work. -
I don't see what Lawrie has said that is so wrong there.
-
I made that mistake last time, the Itchen North is a thoroughly miserable place to be when you are getting stuffed and have 7000 glory hunting, manc ****s shouting in your ear.

You have to wonder if they had one eye on the Man Utd game? What's the betting they put on a cracking performance for the "big" game, still lose, then turn out another garbage display against Exeter on Tuesday.
-
We should do better, that team was shocking (Paterson, Mclaggon, Ryan Smith etc). But Man U this season are unbeaten and yet don't seem to have any particular stand out players, they could rest eleven and still field a team that could smash another Prem side. I can't see anything other than a comfortable Utd win, though Chambo does give us a puncher's chance of fluking it.

We're going to get arse raped and dumped out the cup live on TV by a team we hate - for the 3rd year in a row.

hmmmmm, lights go off with Utaka clean through on goal. Middle Eastern betting syndicate?

Le Tissier Snubbed ticket for United game ?

I'm offering it now. I would happily watch it down the pub because a bunch of my mates, who also are not being allowed to buy tickets, are watching it there. -

There might be more to this story than what we have read, we don't know. One thing you cannot deny though is what CB Fry said - if this story broke when Lowe was running the club he would have got a thorough kicking from everyone on here. -

Wouldn't need to, can't you read, there were 4,000 left going into today. Anyone who really really wants to go will already have one. If it doesn't sell out whoever made the decision not to sell him 10 tickets have cost SFC over £350. -

I think he should have been allowed 10, given that St Mary's stadium probably wouldn't exist if it wasn't for his loyalty, there were 4,000 left going into today. -

So so true. Many on here seem to be scared to criticise anything Cortese does. -

True, but I think not letting him BUY some tickets for his mates doesn't show much honour considering St Mary's would probably not exist if it wasn't for him. -

Why are people banging on about what ex-players want to get for free, the article clearly stated he wanted to BUY 10 tickets. The way Cortese is treating Le Tiss is a disgrace IMO, not just that it's ****ing dumb. The wise thing to do would be to give him some complimentary tickets to the board room, put all the takeover crap behind them, have a chat with the guy and pick his brains about football, the media etc. How can there be any doubt that Matt Le Tiss adds value to the SFC brand? How can SFC expect players like Chamberlain to be loyal to the club when loyalty is obviously a trait they do not value themselves. -
Yeah of course, and we don't want the stadium full of Mancs but if it doesn't sell out it would be a missed opportunity. If it sells out they have got it spot on. My plastic mates don't deserve a ticket over someone who's on the database and willing to buy a Carlisle ticket as well.
-
Oh, Alan Knight is bankrupt He spent it down the pub And now he's f*cking finished Just like his sh!thole club
-
They are not arsed about being on some database, they are not that bothered about wether they watch the game live or in the pub. That's my point, if someone who has never been before quite fancies going, they can't. And you never know, if a plastic goes and sees us turn over the best team in the country they might get hooked - it's a good chance to expand the fan base.
-
Membership/customer number whatever, my point was that it's daft that some cutomers are prevented from spending their money. They have been to a game previously but with tickets brought by me so they don't register on the database. There obviously has to be some structure so that loyal fans get first dibs but I don't think first time customers should be put off. As it stands there might be empty seats at SMS while my mates spend their cash down the boozer watching it on Sky.
-
I don't think it will sell out unless it goes on general sale. All this linking tickets, one per membership stuff is ******, I've got 4 mates who want to go yet they can't get one as it stands.

Tevez seems to be performing OK at Man City.

If you really think we don't need to buy...

If we had a couple of injuries up front I think a Guly/Connolly partnership couldn't be relied upon to score enough goals to get promoted. Alot of people on here seem to forget that we are trying to finish in the top two, a couple of games where we fail to score could be the difference between going up or not. There is little room for error, we can't just assume we wont have injury problems and hope for the best.
