I think we are getting a little bit ahead of ourselves. Any development would need to be where the gravel place is and I guess they need to be situated there to receive gravel by boat.

The last thought of everyone of them must have been "what was the ****ing point".

Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up

Saturday was better than anything we saw under Pardew IMO. Cortese might just have got it spot on with the Adkins appointment. He knows this league better than Pardew and I think he is more motivated, he has more to prove. Still early days though, could just be new manager syndrome. -
We are all effected because it's our tax being handed out and cuts in other areas effect everyone.

"There were hundreds of posts before the school bells had rung," says Freegard. Her children safely behind their desks, she decided to set up an online poll. Soon there were 2,500 responses. The message was clear: seven out of 10 mums opposed the change, believing it to be unfair on those who had paid their taxes and relied on their benefits." You couldn't get a more pointless poll, anyone annoyed at the cuts (obviously the middle class mums sat at home doing **** all) immediately logged on to make a point. Those in favour/not bothered about the change or at work would have had better things to do than go on some daft website.

I would prefer it if they redeveloped St Mary's, I would hate to move to some out of town location. Having said that it would be worth knocking down a perfectly good stadium and building a second bigger one purely to **** pompey fans off.

To be fair, a couple of years ago they were staring non-league football in the face and today are 10 places above a team that has traditionally been two leagues above them. It's a bit petty us having a dig at them for getting excited.

Two 2-0 wins in a row and the mongs on SWF still find something to moan about.
-
I think the "who" thing has caught on because it's only a few years ago we were used to watching the Beckhams and Lampards every week, now were playing nobodies week in week out. I just watched them today but I couldn't name one Tranmere player.

What is a handout then? If I lose my job and end up on benefits I will receive handouts, I've paid tax all my life, it doesn't stop them being handouts.
-
Easiest 2-0 I've ever seen. Guly MOTM, think Schneiderlin has lost his place. Great stuff!
-
That's nonsense, we all pay tax so that there is a health service, police and the streets are kept clean. People getting cash for having a kid is a handout IMO.

Sort of dispels the myth of Saints having a bad hooligan problem.

That's the problem, governments should be able to ensure there is some fairness in society, at the moment they are completely powerless. I'm not anti-capitalist but capitalism without control is just survival of the fittest at it's worst.

I don't have anything against success, my mate has made millions selling sub-prime mortgages and I don't begrudge him a penny. He worked his ass off and took the risks. He hates paying tax and exploits every loop-hole there is to avoid it. If we up the tax rate there is no way he will move abroad though, he is settled here with his family. I think we could get away with taxing the higher level at least another 5% without too many leaving. You have to remember that every pound your mate's company makes has come out of the pocket of someone else - who would also have spent it on services, products etc. By having a few super rich it doesn't mean they are contributing any more, we all contribute.

Not another post noshing off your hero Mark! We all pay tax, we all contribute to the economy and public services - the lower/middle earners contribute more in total than people like lovely Mark. If Mark buys a million shares for £1 each and sells them for £5 each he is a hero because he has made his company a fortune. He hasn't created any wealth though, he's just taken wealth from one part of society and put it in his company's bank account. They pay some in tax and keep most for themselves - they have taken more out than what they have put back in.
-
I'm gonna have to look into what handouts I can get hold of then, I've been paying tax for years as well.
-
I just shocked that people earning 40K were actually receiving state handouts, ****ing madness. Then there is this new rule to limit benefits to 26K a year! 26K tax free for doing **** all - no wonder this country is broke.
-
The problem is "'er indoors teaching kids and shaping the future" could very well soon be out of work and on benefits because banker Mark doesn't want to give up too much of his millions in bonuses.

Have you still not learned a thing? Size of debt is not important, it's your ability to service it.

Rupert Lowe did Good Things while he was at the club - discuss

You have to give him credit for getting the stadium built and he did OK with the academy. His personality flaws and lack of understanding of football were his downfall. While some of his ideas in theory were sound he made some barking mad decisions. -
You've highlighted the problem, the big financial companies will continue to take the **** and the World's governments are completely powerless to take the appropriate action because they will just threaten to move to another country. Everything is carrying on exactly as before, only now I don't see the government bailing anyone out.

But athleticism is only part of what being a footballer is about, there is no point being fit physically if you are not fit mentally. I think it does footballers good to let of steam every now and again because being a footballer is a pressurised job. Being unfit will effect their performance, but so will being unhappy.

There is nothing wrong with staying out to 3am, or having a few beers. Sure drinking too much, or drinking too near a game is not on but one night out letting off steam is not a bad thing. Getting in a fight is dumb though. Didn't Brian Clough take his Forest team out for a beer the night before they won the European Cup? "I like women and I like to go out and enjoy myself, which is why people can identify with me. The night has always been my friend. When I go out I feel good, then I always score goals." Romario
