If he wins us the Champions League as promised I will forgive him about the lack of pictures in the paper thing.
-
That lasted long then! LOL
-
Can't agree with that, if another company tries to poach your staff I don't think there is any obligation to keep it secret. I don't remember Lowe keeping quiet when Spurs nicked Hoddle.
-
Have you changed your mind about this season?

It's still early so there is every chance of promotion but things have gone spectacularly badly so far so I can't say I'm optimistic. -
Because Cortese seems like the type of bloke to hand out favours...
-
Like Bournemouth will care if they are on Nicola's **** list!
-
There are no facts which go against what the Scunny chairman was saying.
-
I find that very hard to believe - a Geordie in Costa Coffee when they could be in the Bar.
-
Fair play to Adkins for having some decency and loyalty. If what is reported is true then he's probably relieved to not be working for such a ****.

SSN reporting that S****horpe say the offer to Adkins is withdrawn

I think Adkins is right and it shows he has decency and loyalty - two traits which his new employer should value. Compensation is there for a reason, if we decide to be underhand and stitch other clubs up by making managers resign - other clubs will just do the same to us so we wont gain anything at all. -

Wow, Cortese has managed to **** of the new manager before he's even signed the contract - that takes a special sort of tosser. -
Adkins has NOT signed - and may not do so now either !!!

Cortese really is a nasty piece of work. -
Has a decent record, just hope Cortese gives him time.
-
If we were in the Prem we would struggle to land Martin ONeil, some Saints fans need a reality check.
-
Can't control what gets out from S****horpe.
-
Adkins has a decent record but I fear for him under Cortese's "instant success or sack" policy. I would have gone for a big name because they would have a greater instant impact and more likely to handle the pressure/expectation. With our squad I don't think the manager has to be a genius to get them out of this league, get the players organised and motivated and you are half way there IMO.
-
I dunno, usually when they say they have permission to talk it's pretty certain they end up going. It's not in Adkins or S****horpe's interests for everyone to know he's spent all week sorting out an interview at another club.
-
S****horpe's last team actually had a higher average age so Illingsworth is officially talking out his ass. Murphy 29 Jones 31 Byrne 28 Mirfin 25 Nolan 22 Togwell 25 O'Connor 22 Wright 25 Collins 24 Dagnall 24 Forte 24

You are using an extreme example, I doubt any manager would want that scumbag in their side. My point is that good managers have a talent for finding the right players and blending them into a successful squad. It's a talent you should harness not water down.
-
Football is all about opinions, if your manager wants to take a punt on someone like Marlon King you should trust him as he's the one with the talent and it's his head on the block.
-
It's the "right for the club" bit that is the problem. A manager is not going bring anyone in that he thinks is wrong for the club so why does he need a Charlton reject telling him what is right or wrong?
-
I'm not against the Director of Football thing in principle, but if we do somehow manage to land Martin O'Neil as manager does it really make sense to have Charlton's worst ever manager and some ex-banker telling him which players to sign? Madness. It would be like hiring Lewis Hamilton to drive your car and putting your girlfriend in charge of changing gear.

I hope that's just the Echo making stuff up.
