  1. Left wing for America though, and that's where they govern.
  2. Isn't Barrak Obama considered left wing in the US - I nominate the USA. Now you give me a more sucessfull right wing country....
  3. You can have left wing Capitalist countries, no one on here is saying we should be like communist Russia - like Dune and his little nazi brain would have you think.
  4. i would get rid of Scheiderlin and bring in a new midfielder, bring in a replacement for Puncheon and probably offload Connolly and get two new strikers.
  5. If it was written somewhere by someone it must be true. That's how it works, if you write something it instantly becomes a fact.
  6. Why are you banging as if I was there, I've never been on a march, part of civil disobedience or been in a union in my life. I don't consider myself right or left wing. I think you have got your wires crossed somewhere. All I was saying was that there is only so much you can know about what went on by watching the TV. For what it's worth I think this government will bring itself down, the Lib Dem's natural alliances lie with Labour, they will have to jump ship before the next election to save their party IMO.
  7. You have just proved my point you muppet - watching the news shows you what is happening but doesn't show why or put it in any context.
  8. Of course. If you see pictures of a student wacking a copper with a piece of wood you don't know if previously the copper had wacked him.
  9. The TV pictures show parts of the violence but to understand what led up to them you obviously had to be there.
  10. You obviously don't understand Al Qaeda, it's not a protest it's an ideological war. They don't want to draw attention to anything, they want to destroy our culture.
  11. Yeah, because mass murder and violent protest is the same thing!
  12. Like I said, the fact that this thread exists shows that violent protesting works.
  13. I think all humans are essentially greedy and selfish. Even the most left wing among us are happy to moan about lack of this and that whilst people die of hunger in another continent.

  15. Could explain two rather odd decisions.
  16. I think alot of people vote tory because of what they say they stand for instead of what they actually stand for so I wouldn't say all tory voters are necessarily greedy but greed is a big part of what the Conservative Party is about.
  17. We badly missed Barnard's energy and movement up front, plus Schneiderlin was his usual pointless self there is so much more to being a midfelder than just having a nice touch and doing the odd good pass. You also have to ask why have we offloaded Bignall and Puncheon - is money really that tight?
  18. The fact that the issue is being discussed on here shows that violent protest works. Just like it did for the Poll Tax.
  19. We obviously don't know who is involved or what the money was but maybe NC's judgement is not that accurate. So far he seems to me to be the sort of person who knows the cost of everything but the value of nothing. Whenever I've been in the suites (Terry Paine, Booby Stokes, Mick Channon and Director's Guests) one of the most enjoyable things of the experience has been chatting to ex Saints. It's probably easy to look at the bar bill or their expenses and question their role, it's not so easy to work out the value they add to the experience. I don't doubt that there was some hangers on, just wouldn't take Cortese's word as gospel when he says certain people were "milking".
  20. The 50K is just a guess but Tuition Fees are only part of the costs of being at university, you have rent and living costs as well. When I went to uni it was free, I had a job and grant, plus my parents helped with the rent and I still got into debt. You obviously have trouble getting into the mentality of someone from a deprived background. If someone is from a family on benefits, earning 25K at Mcdonalds could be quite appealing when the alternative is spending 3 years skint and leaving with 30K+ debt and still maybe not getting a decent job.

HMV are ****ed IMO, there is nothing in that store you can't download for free.
  22. That's ******, whilst if you go to Uni you don't have to pay it back unless you earn a decent salary, the prospect of getting in at least 30K odd of debt will put off many students, especially from a poor background. Chances are, an 18 year old from some inner city slum will look at the debt and think they will be better off being a manager at mcDonalds getting 25K a year from tomorrow rather than study and be poor for 3 years, get 50K in debt, then leave and probably only earn 25K a year anyway. If you're dad's a millionare and you've been bankrolled through Eton, going to Uni is a non brainer but to 18 year olds from deprived backgrounds these fees are just another barrier in their way.
  23. If the Royals funded it themselves it would still attract the same amount of tourists and would provide extra vital funds for the country.
