  1. To be fair, if a boxer and cage fighter were attacking me I would stuff a bottle in their face.
  2. I agree that Solar activity is the main influence but I think you will find that solar activity has decreased since the 80's so wouldn't explain the temperature rise. Co2 being a consequence is also a fair point, it's a complex science that is not fully understood, but we ARE pumping billions of tons of it into the atmosphere and it DOES absorb more heat and temperature HAVE risen - they are all facts. No one knows what will happen in the future, we could be screwed like Lovelock says or the Earth might regulate itself, or Global Warming could be a good thing if we are heading for another ice age. I still think the sensible thing to do is use renewable energy though if only because of the peak oil scenario.
  3. Agree, the way they have linked these threats in with a drone missile attack in Pakistan is so contrived. As if you need to fly out to Pakistan to organize a terrorist attack in Europe.
  4. Maybe the human rights thing doesn't apply if the Police are keeping you locked in for your own safety - that could explain why it was OK to lock us in for ages at Skatesville and Millwall. Whatever the reason the Police obviously have not been doing their job properly at both the Pompey and Bournemouth games. Locking them in would have stopped any of the trouble outside the Northam end. Football crowds tend to disperse quite quickly, any one seriously intent on violence will do it regardless away from the ground and the Police cameras.
  5. Long overdue, would make a good partner for either Rooney or Defoe IMO.
  6. The Whitehouse is just a bar, there is nothing wrong with Barnard being there at 3am having a few beers (along as it's not too much). He's 20 something, has money to burn and had just won a derby game so was probably still buzzing with the adrenalin - I'm not surprised he didn't fancy staying in watching Xfactor. Like most people his age would he went out to have a laff and find some slapper. Unfortunately he appears to have screwed up big time.
  7. I expect some of he lowest crowds were in the 1890's.
  8. Saints fans can't have human rights then because I remember being kept in loads of times.
  9. If he bottled someone then he is an idiot even if there is an element of provocation/self defence. But to suggest footballers can't stay out to 2-3am in town is nonsense. Drinking huge amounts is not wise for a professional athlete but just because he is out late doesn't mean he has drunk huge amounts.
  10. ...He's short and he's ****ing hard he's wanted by Scotland Yard...
  11. If he bottled someone he will probably go to jail, you get 18 months for shaking a fence nowadays.
  12. It's a hard balancing act between stopping the scrounging slobs from taking the **** and ruining the lives of those who genuinely need benefits but I'm glad the Tories are making the decisions because Labour have let everyone down badly. A limit on child benefit is a good idea (2 kids max), plus people who are relatively well off should get no benefit at all. Food and clothes vouchers are also a good idea, there is no reasonable argument against this IMO. A max limit on housing benefit is a good idea (I think the Tories are already doing this). I would also introduce a scheme that means anyone on job-seekers has to do 2-3 days unpaid work (litter picking etc) a week to receive it. That would help put people off taking the **** and get people in the habit of working. Toughening up on the invalid benefit is important to, need to focus on what they can do as opposed to what they can't.
  13. Still are favorites... http://sports.coral.co.uk/sport/en#/drilldown/type/527/npower-League-1 And look who's second favorites for the drop... http://sports.coral.co.uk/sport/en#/markets/2/TN-STRD-Relegation/Relegation
  14. It's quite clear from that Pardew's saying that the wife ****ging rumours are complete bull. Also if he was banging Fonte's other half the papers would have picked up on it by now.
  15. The thing is with Saints support is that it is a bit of an unknown quantity, the only real success we have had was in the 70's/80's and then we were limited by the Dell. The Strachan years saw regular sell outs but that wasn't real success, and there was no real investment so the club's true potential has never been fulfilled.
  16. Last season we were 27 points off top spot going into October, today it is 9.
  17. I think last season the leeds game was the 3rd most watched, behind only Man U and Arsenal. I thought we would get more than 26K yesterday but considering the ticket prices it was a good turnout. Sort of rubbishes what the skates have been saying out us only getting good crowds because of cheap pricing etc.
  18. I tend to agree, but from Bournemouth's perspective when Saints approached them and Eddie went for an interview they were probably resigned to losing him. You can't blame their chairman for being over the moon when for whatever reason he ends up staying. A good manager is worth his weight in gold and him staying could mean Championship football instead of League 2 football next year. If Mitchell was lying then our chairman should just find it funny that he should resort to such petty behaviour and just have a chat next time he sees him. Saying he is not welcome is just petty schoolboy behaviour and doesn't achieve anything. Maybe one of this Bournemouth team turns out to be a top player who Adkins wants to sign, making an enemy of their chairman is not going to help.
  19. From the info I have I think he had the interview and decided he didn't want it. Wether he was offered it or not only Howe and Cortese would know. Even if Mitchell is saying the truth I expect Howe would be embarrassed about the info being aired so wouldn't read too much into him being cagey. Either way I don't se why Cortese has let it get to him, a bit pathetic really.
  20. I definitely didn't hear any booing and I've got good ears.
  21. I remember him getting subbed at the Dell and when the fans behind the dugout gave him stick he told us to f*ck off. He just can't take the banter, chav tosser like his sons.
  22. There was definitely no booing - the video proves that.
  23. Football has always been run as a business, it's just now there are a few more noughts added on the end. Though football has changed alot it is wrong to suggest it wasn't run as a very successful business in the 70's and 80's. If it's ticket prices we are talking about then I think most Saints fans would be willing to pay a fair wack if we got back in the Prem - even the Championship. There is no reason why you cannot have a successful Prem club and treat supporters as supporters, and treat the club as a club embracing it's history, ex-players, fans and local area and media. It's not and either/or thing.
  24. I think they are getting the directors lounge mixed up with the directors guest room which has a cash bar.
  25. Maybe, just maybe, there were some crowd antics you were not aware of? It's pretty conclusive from that video that there was no major booing of Cortese.
