The Football league will rip into portsmouth next season. Lord Mawhinney will already be cracking one off at thought of all those possible point penalties.
-
If you ignore the hilarious schoolboy insults of Nigel Farage he actually has a very valid point. None of us elected this European President, we were not even allowed a refurendum on Europe. The whole Europe thing is just a big self-perpetuating gravy train. and totally undemocratic.

Spoken like a true ass hole.

I don't get why only the Scotts get to vote on this, surely we should have the opportunity to rid ourselves of them. Not exactly fair.

He's gone up in my estimation after that rant.

I'm guessing they would advance them the cash that's due at the end of the season + parachute payments. It would cause all sorts of grief to the PL if pompey folded so it's in their interests to keep them running. Also I expect they will actually be better off financially as I expect the total they will give to pompey would be less (like when we cashed in on Walcott early). The PL are not a charity, I think you can rest assure dthat anything they recieve now will mean they miss out on twice as much in the future. Would be great if their current players, Chanrai, Gaydamak n co walk off with all their next two years parachute cash - they will be ****ged.

Draw at Norwich and Win at Wycombe = good 4 points
aintforever replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
4 points from those games is not a bad return, but if you are trying to catch up 17 points on the top 6 it is just not good enough. We had to win both to give us any hope at all. -
According to the beeb, portsmouth choose who is administrator... Q: Who will be the administrator? A: This is still unclear, but we know it will not be Nick O'Reilly, the man who prepared the club's recent "statement of affairs". This document was the financial reckoning Portsmouth had to submit to court last week and it would have contained all the gory details (debts of £70m, a tax bill of £12m and rising, and a see-the-season-out estimate of £20m), as well as his opinion on the outcomes, in terms of money returned to creditors, of administration and liquidation. Chainrai either disliked O'Reilly's candour or he balked at his quote, which is believed to have been £1m. This may seem like another professional's attempt to wring money from the club, but it should be remembered an administrator becomes liable for the company's debts and businesses in administration have proved they are not that great at paying those.
-
I don't see the point in having an administrator if he's hand picked by Storrie so that he keeps his job and does whatever he likes. I thought the whole point of the administrator is that the idiots who caused the mess were kicked out and someone with the creditors interests was brought in. All pompey will have is some shyster on Chanrai's payroll calling the shots.
-
I think the bottom line is that Chanrai, Gaydamak and HRMC all want their money and it's the administrators job to get them as much money as possible. None of the people involved have the slightest interest in Portsmouth Football Club.

Well I think tonight's result puts this thread to bed. Roll on Wembley and 2010/11.
-
not good enough
-
If we don't win this then it's game over as far as the leagues concerned. It's a good job we've got Wembley to look forward to and the skates to laugh at.
-
Does the administrator have any claim to future payments? Doesn't seem fair that HRMC and the other creditors will get 1p in the pound when future parachute payments will be due to the club.
-
Is there a chance that the administrator will take one look at the books and say **** this, I'm winding it up?
-
I expect the interested parties all have buying from administration in mind anyway. Hopefully they wont get a CVA and still get the minus points next season, jammy gits probably will get away with it though.

There's a difference between being hard and losing your temper and stapling your own hand.
-
People who bully usually do it through frustration because they are **** at their job and they know they are. Brown is not PM material, never will be.
-
My gut feeling is that the judge will put them in admin with the hope that the players will agree a wage cut to get them through to the summer. Then cash raised through a fire sale and Sky would give the creditors something. Wind them up next week and the creditors get zero and the PL is thrown into chaos, doesn't make sense to me. But then again HRMC are not that happy with football and want blood so liquidation wouldn't surprise me.
-
To get to 40 points Portsmouth need to average 2 points a game - that's the same as Arsenal.
-
Even if we go on an exceptional run the chances are enough teams above us will get enough points so it is very unlikely.
-
Whilst I think it sometimes makes sense to rest players, I don't think now is the time - we need to just go for it.

If these South Africans are serious about taking over on Monday they are going to need to have serious cash. They will need to stump up £12mill cash in a weeks time to pay the taxman, they will need funds to keep the club going until May. Any sort of investment is going to want to own the ground and land so they will need at least another £10mill for Chanrai, plus whatever Gaydamak wants. That's before any investment in the team, stadium etc. Surely if they are rich enough to chuck that sort of money around on a Championship club then proving funds should take about 5 minutes?
-
I do like the way he talks about portsmouth in the past tense.
-
I would say they are worse off because even after administration or liquidation, whoever owns the club will have to fork out £1mill a year in rent to Chanrai for Fratton Park.
