Huge result, 3 more points against Wycombe and we're cooking.
-
Chanrai's loan was secured on the ground so it was always going to be his. They effectively sold the ground to pay the wages at the start of the season.
-
That's an ass-kicking.
-
Impossible to say, one thing is for certain though - they will say a deal is being done regardless of what's happening. They've tried every trick in the book so far, expect some businessman/billionare to be wheeled out Mon or Tues saying time is needed for due dilligence etc.
-
All to be expunged soon. Next season we will be celebrating 125 years of SFC and all the history that goes with it. Your club will be in it's first season, playing Totton.
-
Pretty much the same thing, they need to send a strong message to other football clubs to make sure they get paid in full and on time in the future.
-
I'm usually pessimistic but I can see us doing a job today, I think the players will be relieved to get all that cup nonsense out of the way and get a settled team again. 2-1 Saints.
-
The club doesn't own the ground, Chanrai does.
-
But at the moment they have no assets, zero payers to sell, zero sky money, if they can somehow make it to June they in theory will have something to fight over. They might want to teach football a lesson though, in which case pompey are definitely fish food.
-
You are probably right, their biggest problem is the fact that they have lost their ground to Chanrai and the land to Gaydamak, even debt free they would not be a good investment, all you would be buying is a bunch of overpaid players and a rent bill for the use of the stadium. But it must make sense for HRMC to keep it on a life support machine until June, I expect Muntari and co would even consider pay drops when the alternative is being expunged.
-
I expect admin is still an option, it makes little sense to fold the club now and not get the Sky money due at the end of the season or cash from possible player sales. They could send their loanies back, loan out everyone they can and flounder along until May.
-
Didn't get Oscar Gobern
-
Could all this new owner nonsense just be to try and get the court to put the club into administration instead of liquidation? From what I understand (not alot) administration is more likely if the court thinks a buyer can be found.
-
If we could have sold players outside the window we wouldn't have gone into administration. Cheating ****s
-
The German system is the way to go, will never happen though because there is too much greed in the game here.
-
Why the hell do they not sell the players in the transfer window, increase their wage bill by bringing in loans, now try to break all the rules by selling them now - it doesn't make any sense at all. Surely they didn't want to beat us that bad.
-
The problem with that is that many of the current Chapel/Kingsland sit down and be quiet types will stay where they are, as will many of the Northamers. you will just end up with people getting annoyed with each other over the stand up sit down issue and with no vocal area because the whole ground will be watered down with displaced silent Chapel standers. Leave it as it is, a whole load of fuss for no reason.
-
I can't help feeling it's win or bust for us this weekend, anything other than 3 points and the very unlikely will become pretty much impossible.
-
I don't think most people care if Argentina has the oil or the Falkland islands.
-
Surely the Court should have someone independent to produce the SOA? I don't see the point in getting some dodgy tax avoidance people, employed by pompey, to do it, they could write any old ******.
-
We wouldn't have any more of a case for being reinstated than the other teams they have knocked out so I would think it's fairer to let Brum have a bye.
-
That's what I keep saying, there will always be a football club in Portsmouth of some sort. Some softies on here keep saying they don't want you to go out of existence, they just want you relegated - which is nonsense as they are effectively the same. If you fold and get expunged or whatever it's exactly the same as being relegated 7 or 8 times over in one hit - which ALL Saints fans must see as being a fantastic thing to happen. Like it or not, finances are as much part of today's game as everything else and you are about to score the most spectacularly funny own goal in football history. FA Cup winners to Unibond Wessex league South in a couple of years.
-
That's quite clearly complete ******, anyone who knows anything about football knows that there is a fierce rivalry between Saints and Pompey. Because of the size of the clubs it's never going to be the biggest but the nature of the two cities and the rareness of the fixture does make it fiercer than many. I didn't see any trouble on Saturday though, all this reporting by the BBC is just sensationalist nonsense, a few things were thrown thats all. The only person injured was by a police dog.
