  1. I find it offensive what the Football League have done to Luton. There obviously needs to be punishments for teams that break the rules but removing them from the league is just a complete disgrace.
  2. Probably a fraction of what the club spent on the pointless numerous rozzers all on double bubble.
  3. We are 2 points off 3 teams, 3 wins will keep us up, you can have my personal guarantee on that. Doubt we will get them tho.
  4. It's hard to argue with anything GM has said here, Lowe, Wilde, Crouch, Hoos and that tangerine coloured **** should cough up the 500k between them, they are all to blame.
  5. If people want to donate wouldn't they be better off just buying a few extra tickets or something from the store? At least then it would show up in the accounts as ticket/merchandise sales and the club would look more attractive to an investor.
  6. No doubt he was over-rated but anyone who can play left midfield for Hertha Berlin and get in the Czech Republic squad for the last European Championships as a left midfielder should at least be given a run out in our shower of ****e. Or we could just stick with the same side that got dicked by Charlton.
  7. Agree, it is madness he has not even been given a go in his favoured position. This is a guy who scored for fun in the SPL and the one season he has played left mid for us he spent most of his time covering for Bale. Has to be worth a try over the current crock of ****e.
  8. I refuse to believe it's just the incompetence of Lowe that led to this, they would have known what Barclays plans were, they would have known exactly when we were to go over our overdraft. IMO Lowe put the club into admin a few days after the deadline either out of spite, or for some other reason. Can anypne else offer a logical explanation as to why we would enter administration just a few days after the critcal deadline?
  9. I can't see what Barclay's would have to gain by misleading Lowe about the overdraft facility, or if in fact they can say one thing and do another? Our financial state couldn't have been much different a few days earlier, we all knew the deadline was the last Thursday in March, I find it incredible that all this happened a few days later. Clubs previously have been able to time going into admin during the half time break of the final league game to avoid a deduction the next season. Why were we incapable of even hitting an obvious deadline! When we get the deduction we will be a far less attractive buy, 2 years in League 1 minimum. It will certainly reduce the value of the club, I will be very suspicious if Lowe attempts to buy the thing. Also it is my understanding that the creditors didn't put us in admin, Lowe did it when some cheques bounced - I think.
  10. Lowe surely had to be aware of the overdraft facility, and of how much was going out in cheques? A simple meeting with the bank a couple of weeks before might have been a good idea - no? As for extra funding, both lowe and Wilde are very wealthy men - maybe a short term interest free loan might have helped?
  11. Might be a good idea for a couple bucket collectors to hang around the player's entrance.
  12. If Lowe had announced admin 6 days earlier than he did we would be starting next season on a level playing field. His final act of spite or incompetence has really ****ed this club up.
  13. I wish it was do or die, think now it's more do and still die regardless of the result.
  14. He was ridiculed because he pretended to be ITK when he was just passing on info he had been fed. Interesting to know that it was Corbett and Crouch spreading the bull**** about Allen.
  15. It would be great if we weasel our way out of this 10 points AND stay up, everyone would hate our guts, it would be a bit like supporting Man U. If we beat Wolves on Friday a whole load of clubs will start crying like babies.
  16. If the points are deducted it WILL be next season, if we finish in the bottom 3. Our only way to get a deduction this season is by finishing out of the bottom 3 - then it will be applied on the last day and thus relegate us. This is all Lowe's fault for missing the deadline by 6 days.
  17. Surely as we are in administration if someone wanted to buy the farm or Staplewood they would just have to give Mr Fry a call. Isn't that why he's there, to sell stuff and give the cash to the creditors?
  18. One obvious mistake is not taking admin before the deadline and taking any points hit this season instead of starting next season on -10. The club will be much harder to sell if the prospective buyers know they will have at least 2 seasons in League 1. Alpine's "take admin now" thread got alot of stick but he was proved 100% right.
  19. Of course there's a concern that whoever buys us might not be best for the club, but if the prefered people cannot afford to stump up enough cash I can't see how they can be that great. If someone is buying us just to try and make a quick buck there is a ceiling to how much they will pay before it doesn't become worthwhile, anyone decent with the club at heart would be able to stump up more. If they cant then it's thanks but no thanks, hard cash is the most important thing.
  20. Yup http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/westham/3479812/West-Hams-future-in-doubt-after-holding-company-Hansa-goes-into-administration.html The rules couldn't be clearer, I don't know if there is anything different with being in the Prem tho... West Ham United plc are regarded as the member organisation by the Premier League, meaning that the possibility of a sporting sanction against the team, such as the deduction of points, could not be considered in respect of any financial issues relating to the holding company.
  21. I believe we went into administration before any 10 point rule about holding companies came into being. Morally we should be docked, but legally I think we shouldn't get docked and if the League want to close the loophole they should afterwards.
  22. But if (as seems likley) we go down we will probably start on -10, whereas if Lowe had took us into admin a week earlier we could possibly have a chance of promotion. Wether Lowe thought the rules could be bent or not is irrelevant, if we had acted within the deadline there would not even be a risk of the -10 next season. As for blaming the banks, you would have thought Lowe would be aware of our overdraft facility and how much was going to go in or out? A simple meeting with Barclays a week before the deadline could have prevented this mess - surely?
  23. Why is it so hard to understand, if we had took admin a week earlier any penalty would have happened THIS season regardless of our league position. By doing it after the deadline Lowe guaranteed that the penalty would take effect next season if we finished in the bottom 3 or this season if we finished above it. It's not rocket science. Basically Lowe has needlessly given us a -10 point penalty for next season - either by spite of through bad management.
  24. With Aviva looking like they are going to accept between 5-10mill for the stadium it looks like it could well be a simple choice between: A. An art gallery with 150mill worth of art and no football club. B. An art gallery with 140-45mill worth of art and a football club and Communitee Stadium. Now which option would most benefit the city of Southampton? It's nothing to do with choosing between art and football or thick footie fan vs cultured art lover. Southampton needs both, football is as much part of the culture and heritage of Southampton as art, flogging art to save a football club is no ones prefered option, no one wants to lose any art but it may come down to the choice between A and B and for me it's an easy one. The effects of losing a fraction of the galleries art, which is mainly not even in view is negligable. The effects of losing a football club would be severe for the City. It's not just about the jobs lost at the stadium, or losing all the good work SITC do but also the knock on effects of not having 15-20,00 people visiting the city and spending money on parking, transport, food, drink, in the shops and hotels every other weekend. Plus there are the suppliers of SFC that would get hit, the Echo (which is already struggling) would get hit and may just vanish like many other local papers have been. And there is the profile of the city which would be harmed. The money gained through rent could be used to improve the gallery in the long term anyway.
