  1. It says "threatening to reduce" which could mean anything. As we have just brought in 2 new players and given Smith a contract I cant see how admin is that near.
  2. Then why do you think Rupert got his mate to release the information then?
  3. I don't think that article would have any effect on the price of our players, the price would mainly be effected by how many and which clubs are interested.
  4. Lowe will obviously get less grief if he flogs Surman if the fans think we are knocking on the door of admin. It may be that we are that ****ed and do need to sell, but it could also be the case that our financial situation is being made to sound worse than it is.
  5. To keep the club as a going concern then it is vital that HMRC gets paid, the club doesn't need Staplewood or that farm so the logical thing to do would be to sell these off. Obviously depends on what is owed and what they are worth though.
  6. We're clearly being buttered up for the sale of someone.
  7. Surely we must be able to cover the tax bill, we could flog that farm and the Staplewood dome etc for starters?
  8. Exactly, it was obvious Pearson had potential, the job he took on was a very hard job (as Dodd and Gorman showed) he had zero time to build his own team, he was basically fire-fighting. What he achieved as a relative rookie was very good. Another thing that is overlooked is the fact that his fixtures were not easy, particularly having to get results at West Brom away and Sheffield Utd at home.
  9. If the Lowe/Poortvleit combo is still in place I have no desire to go the next game, and I have a season ticket. I' just don't think it's fair on the kids to be put in that situation, it's hard enough making the jump from academy football without having the handicap of a manager who hasn't a faintest idea of what the league is about.
  10. The bottom line is I think you can trust Crouch to do what he thinks is best for the club.
  11. Dodd and Gorman turned out to be ****e but it's a bit harsh to criticise Crouch over it, he only let them take charge of 4-5 games after Burley did a runner. It made sense to give them a crack at no extra cost while a new manager was being found. The only thing Crouch has done wrong is believe Wilde's lies about investment.
  12. Curbishly & Pardew are on the dole.
  13. He added: "I think we have to work even harder, because I think it's a fight." He "thinks" it's a fight, I dispair I really do. This guy really is clueless.
  14. I agree they are pathetic, but not as pathetic as the gimps on here who thought they were rejecting the SISU deal for the good of the club. "it's right for Coventry but not for us" was a ****** many came out with, now a few months later we probably face being in a worse position than Coventry ever were.
  15. If that was the case then we would sell/loan out, then use whatever money we get to bring in the new players. If the bank were making the decisions I doubt they would spend money we didn't have in the hope that someone wants to buy one of our players.
  16. Surely if money was that tight we wouldn't have been able to bring in two new players and sign Smith perminantly. Or maybe the bank manager didn't rate Skacel at left back and thought Smith was a cracking player so what the hell?...
  17. Wouldn't surprise me if Boothroyd is lined up - Woodward connection and all.

  19. Lowe could salvage the situation, he just has to admit he was wrong, sack Poortvleit, apologise to the fans and appoint a decent manager. If the team look like they are turning it around the Lowe out aggro will stop.

  21. And he boasted that we had a comparible turnover to Aston Villa and Celtic, a top 10 club in the richest league in the World - and he gambled the whole lot on Sturrock ... then Wigley!
  22. Still a pointless risk IMO. How many other Prem clubs get their managers from League 1? Ince is the only other one I can think of.
  23. Wrong, Stockport were in the Championship.
  24. He was still poached from 2 leagues down, and he wasn't even the best manager in League 1 that season because Plymouth were 2nd (behind Luton I think). If we were gonna grab a manager from the lower leagues surely we should have flexed our Premiership muscle and nicked the best one from the Championship? Sturrock was a massive gamble, even Ince could be seen as less a gamble because he actually played in the Prem.
  25. The problem with the Trust is that they have these meetings with board members, they are scared to annoy anyone at the club in case they lose these meetings.
