The Beautiful Game is now firmly in the land of the fairies
aintforever replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
I think the rest of Europe will soon get ****ed off if English clubs continue to dominate by getting into massive debt. -

And that was just an Arab giving money to a Russian - it doesn't benefit England or the game at all. -

It is rediculous, but it will be great watching City knock one of the usual 4 out of the Champions League spots. Would be great to see Arsenal, Liverpool or especially Man U go tits up. -
Looking at the debts of the big 4, if the arse falls out of the TV deals, those clubs could be seriously ****ed up.
-
I agree, but the more cheap seat deals they do the less desirable the next years Early Bird saving.

Where does a crazy Dutch total football experiment fit in with this rationale?!?
-
I don't get your point, they could just as easily get injured in training or the reserves. Yes he is overpaid and has not performed well, but we are still paying his wages while he is sat on his arse doing naff all - same with when Lowe froze Rudi out. If we were doing OK I wouldn't mind but we are not. The team is playing ****e and it's looking like were getting relegated - freezing out two experienced players is not a good use of resources. A good manager would get the best out of players like this in our situation, then they might actually be able to be sold.

the things the fans have said over the years

Talk about over complicating things! Get a good manager and keep him here - that's by far the most important ingredient for success and something Lowe is not capable of. You can have the best acadamy, sports science, club set up in the World - throw in a **** manager, the team gets relegated. -
It makes no sense to freeze players out like Rudi and Euell while the team is complete ****e, we would be better off getting the best out of them while we pay their wages.

Terrible news - Roeder is the worst manager in the world. I expect Norwich will start moving up the table now they rid themselves of the Roeder handicap.

what happened to "Surman and Lallana off as soon as window opens"
aintforever replied to Ken Tone's topic in The Saints
Not really, Lowe has often held out for a better price. Depends who's interested though, Stoke were reported to be after Surman but they signed Etherington so I expect that ends their interest. There hasn't appeared to be much interest in Lallana, and to be honest he hasn't cut much mustard at Championship level so I doubt any Prem clubs would be after him. -
True, but to be fair there is hardley a club in the country that hasn't built a new ground or redeveloped their existing one in the last 10 years. Even portsmouth have a roof now.

David McGoldrick - one of the top 50 rising stars?
aintforever replied to SaintDonkey's topic in The Saints
Because he's playing with a bunch of 12 year olds people forget that he is still young and learning. His goal tally is not that bad considering his age and how ****e we are. -
I don't know how there can even be any debate. Best: Big Mac - the only man ever to have won anything. Worst: Wigley - Apart from having the worst record this guy actually picked Brett Ormerod and Dexter Blackstock to play up front when Peter Crouch was on the bench. Most hated - Redknapp, Branfoot was **** but he wasn't **** enough to relegate us and didn't **** off to pompey.
-
Wigley by a mile - useless ****.

Saints before Lowe...Saints 6 ManU 3
aintforever replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
To be fair, football in general is rubbish now unless you support 1 of 4 clubs, Sky's money has ****ed it all up for 95% of fans. -
We were much worse in the first half, that's when the damage was done - too many points dropped at home to ****e teams under Wigley.

the things Rupert Lowe has said over the years
aintforever replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Burley was well received by the fans, but that is irrelivant - it was another poor appointment - it's as simple as that. -

That was classic that one, just before the start of the season Rupes was in the national media saying he wants Champions league football, a few weeks later he sacks Sturrock after just 2 games - blaming pressure from the media. -
Doncaster_ Most important game of season?
aintforever replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
Rubbish, lucky people are more confident more like. -
Is probably one of our higher earners so if we don't flog him this month he will be offered a contract in June for much less money and leave for another CCC club IMO.
-
If it was a financial issue I expect the club would have said so, it certainly would reflect better than "didn't want him enough". There has been nothing said that suggests Watford are paying more than Saints, I expect in this sort of deal the club just pays the players wages and that probably wouldn't change unless he got a new contract anyway. I doubt there was any loan fee for giving a kid a run out.

In case we survive in the CCC - JP situation
aintforever replied to Belgiansaint's topic in The Saints
I doubt he would be allowed to say that they are not playing because Rupes wants to put the kids in the shop window. -

aintforever replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
That's complete crap, of course every team will try and win every game but some games are more important than others. If you beat the teams around you you can jump above them, it's the same for Man U v Chelsea as it is Saints v Doncaster. -

It is a must win game, not only because it is a 6 pointer but because psychologically a home win is vital.
