I thought that he was crap, according to other people on this forum?

I understand what you are saying about the singing but film and stage are completely different. I loved the film of "Warhorse" but love the stage production even more. In "Les Mis" the actors were acting and actually singing at the same time, as opposed to miming to pre-recorded tracks. I first saw Hugh Jackman in "Oklahoma" at The National Theatre some years ago. He is/was a very good musical theatre performer but this is not musical theatre - it is cinema. Having listened to the cast albums of "Les Mis" hundreds of times I know that it is going to be different, but different in a good way, I hope!

So many people on this forum never cease to amaze and annoy me. He has not been awful. He is quite obviously a very talented player, but let`s be realistic. He has come from Italy to play in the PL for the first time, in a team that has been struggling. For every foreign player that makes an instant impact in the league, there are ten that take time to adapt. As far as the transfer fee goes, I don`t think that he had anything to do with it. He was out injured for 3 or 4 weeks with a dead-leg. He has been flying back and forth to Uruguay because of a family bereavement. Give the bloke a decent chance before condemning him as "awful". I know that this is an alien concept on here but let`s try. -
Indeed. Or the innocent people killed in the Twin Towers or the London bombings or any other terrorist attack. It is very sad when ANY innocent person dies.

Lowe back in business Former Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe has been tempted back into football by the potential of the Brazilian soccer schools set up by Simon Clifford, who briefly worked as a Saints coach. Lowe, whose Saints academy alumni include Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, has taken a controlling investment in Clifford’s struggling business that includes Northern Premier League club Garforth Town. Lowe, who was set to take charge at Nottingham Forest and bring in Glenn Hoddle as manager before the death of owner Nigel Doughty last year, has always had great faith in the coaching vision of Clifford, once dismissed as a ‘ball juggler’ by Harry Redknapp Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2250824/Manchester-United-Arsenal-Manchester-City-Chelsea-fight-Premier-League-debt-limit--Charles-Sale.html#ixzz2FaPbBIwX Was the Notts Forest thing common knowledge??

Oh, I think that he probably is!!

We were in a decent position at the time. Hoddle, quite unexpectedly, sent the team off on a break at an important part of the season. Spurs had assured everyone that they were going to appoint a new manager over the close season. GH assured everyone that he was staying at Saints but held talks with Spurs while the team were away on the break. GH was offered, and took the Spurs job, probably because they had an FA Cup semi at Wembley. Hoddle did not return to the club and sent John Gorman to pick up his stuff and say goodbye to the squad. The man has no principals and for that reason I did not want him back.

A true British eccentric and a broadcasting legend. He wiil be missed.

I think that most people on here have me down as a Guly lovee. He is not the greatest player that we have but neither is he the worst. Those mindless morons that booed him yesterday are despicable. His contribution when he came on was valuable. He did what he was asked to do. Those "sheep" that followed the "Guly is ****" mantra are not worth thinking about.

You don`t sit in the Kingsland centre do you? I have a "Statler and Waldorf" pair behind me that call him that. We have also had Punchard and Jaydoy (Jaidi) in the past and "we signed Ramez from Bologna" with Bologna pronounced exactly how it is spelt - a bit like Bogna!

Dunno but seemed odd that the t-shirts were blue.

Just been to West Quay and saw half a dozen lads in blue t-shirts with these words on. Anyone any idea what that`s all about? Is it "The Blue Phew" on an awayday or what?

Not sure this is the right thread but I see that Jonathon Forte (and Tadanari Lee) scored for the under 21`s yesterday. Didn`t realise that he was back with us.
