  1. Do you not think that one of the reasons for the tougher sentencing is because of the public outcry for retribution during and just after the lawlessness? I would suggest that "the people" had a great say in this.
  2. Don`t really know, but if the only clubs that wanted him were Skates and Stockport, it would suggest so.
  3. In all honesty FMPR, how do you think that in the same situation Saints crowds would have been affected? Especially as both of your league games were against near neighbours. Do you think that we would have got more than 16000 last night?
  4. It was them or Stockport apparently. Can`t imagine that Stockport were offering too much.
  5. Indeed. Some "expert" last night decided that because we scored after Guly went off, it proved that he was crap! This, ignoring the fact that we scored three time when he was ON the pitch!
  6. What if what`s in place at the time isn`t actually sufficient? Most things (including sentencing) change/evolve to suit the prevailing environment. Maybe, just maybe these sentences reflect the the unusual outbreak of lawlessness, and the public fear that went with it, that took place last week. People that thought that they would probably just get an ASBO have had a rude awakening. I guess that the saying "If you can`t do the time, then don`t do the crime" applies here.
  7. I said last season that Guly has the potential to be a great player for us, with the more time and space that there is away from the lower leagues. IMHO he was too good for League One. Yet sadly, he is going to be one of those players who will sharply divide opinion. See some of the comments in last nights Match Thread. Me? I`m really glad that we`ve got him.
  8. But surely, it was a tactical sub, not just taking him off because he wasn`t playing well. By all accounts he was having a great game.
  9. Is that the same Guly that was on when we scored three goals??
  10. It`s there!
  11. Very good! http://www.cafepress.co.uk/Adkinisms

  13. Bugger! Mine was for Viagra!!
  14. He was landlord of the Rufus pub in Totton (Eling) some years ago and if I remember correctly had a small cafe somewhere in the area.
  15. Me neither. Mind you, I had never heard of Rickie Lambert until we signed him.
  16. Oh yes. That was it. However, the tickets prices were announced at the beginning of June and the two week renewal period finished IIRC on July 15th. Not sure that this was much of a problem/obstruction though.
  17. Doesn`t NA have a background as a physio? I am sure that IF Maynard were to sign, any past injuries would be taken into account.
  18. Didn`t NC say something in his programme notes for the Leeds game that he was impressed with the amount of ST`s sold or words to that effect??
  19. Even I am getting bored with you now. All it needs now is for you to do the "has Skacel signed yet" "joke" and it will be the "Perfect Storm" of knobness
  20. Interesting view on things:- http://nathanieltapley.com/2011/08/10/an-open-letter-to-david-camerons-parents/
  21. I know him! Isn`t he the Mayor of P*rtsmouth?
  22. The other thing that annoys me is when we don`t have anyone at the far side of the box when we have corners. We generally have a big bundle of players in the goal mouth but no-one spare on the far side for a ball hit too hard that sails over everyones head.
  23. Empire of the Summer Moon - Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanche Tribe. A superb read if you are remotely interested in the subject of American history.
  24. Houdini?
