Whilst not an "action" movie, this is a brilliant film. Very moving. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0426578/

I absolutely loved her. Even my wife, who is a bit prudish and doesn`t "do" bad language, didn`t stop laughing.
-
I thought that I had slipped into some parallel universe as I started a thread about seeing her last night in "The Arts" forum earlier and thought this was it! BTF, she is smuttier than on TV and uses the "F Word" quite liberally but is very funny.
-
Saw her at a sold out Salibury City Hall last night. We laughed all evening. Well worth seeing. Who says that women can`t be funny!

Surprised (unless I missed it) that no-one has mentioned "Saving Private Ryan". The visceral portayal of the landings on Omaha in the first 20 minutes or so make it compulsive viewing.
-
Downfall for me too. Absolutely superb. Not Nazi but this is also a superb film:- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0243609/

Absolute top post! Says it all really. Sadly people on here are using rumour and half-truths to back up their own agenda. It`s easier that way rather than dealing with facts. I had also forgotten about yesterdays plaque news.

Bloody Hell! The club can`t win can it? Non-sponsored "Sash" strip. Ex-players presented on the pitch at games a number of times. The "125" Logo. Celebration Events last year. Yet somehow they are "airbrushing" our history?? "No comment" would have been better than being open and honest?? Imagine the furore on here with "No Comment"! When the event at The Mayflower was announced, I had no idea whether it was organised by the club or not, but it wasn`t. It was unofficial as were the awards to LM and MLT. What do you expect the club to do? Take credit for something that they had nothing to do with? I think that the club has basically supplied answers to questions that were not answered clearly by the organisers of the Mayflower do. I haven`t agreed with everying that the club/NC has done or the way that they have been done, but it seems that you are either for NC or against him. There appears to be very little middle ground.

But we all know that The Daily Fail is a Nazi loving rag that makes all of it`s stories up, so this is not true...................probably.

Bomb gone off in Eastleigh...?
miserableoldgit replied to saintscottofthenortham's topic in The Lounge
I live about a mile and a half from Eastleigh town centre, towards Swaythling, and heard a hollow boom at around 11.00pm. -
Agree totally with this. It seems that to a lot of people on here this is a "Black and White" situation and you view depends on the pro or anti Cortese stance that you have. Why is he getting stick for pointing out that the event was not organised by the club and was therefor unofficial? Just another club to beat him with.

Perhaps it took a breather by the bird avery on its way to Bitterne Triangle

This is what live sport is all about. You never know what you are going to get. It is unpredictable. If you want a pretty well guarenteed enjoyment, go and see a well reviewed film or show or see your favourite band.

Watched "The Infidel" yesterday. Really wasn`t expecting too much, but apart from the somewhat contrived ending, I really quite enjoyed it. It has Omid Djalili as a Muslim father finding out that he was adopted and that his birth parents were actually Jewish. Quite funny in places and worth giving a punt.

Tend to agree. I was a bit shocked at the cheering. I admit that he wasn`t very effective today but he certainly didn`t deserve that.

The Cortese Tax - OFT probe into firms 'profiting from plastic'
miserableoldgit replied to dune's topic in The Saints
On some theatre tickets you have to pay a "Booking Fee" AND an "Admin Fee" PER TICKET. Yes it is a way of ripping the public off, but at least it is a £3 fee per booking not per ticket at SMS. Sadly it is the way things are nowadays but as someone else said at least Saints are upfront about it and there are ways to avoid it. -
Soccer Saturday Live at The Mayflower
miserableoldgit replied to miserableoldgit's topic in The Saints
Other people have started threads about their memories and time spent supporting Saints. That is as relevant as a thread about MLT appearing live in the city I would have thought. As relevant as the many other threads concerning memories of other, less God-like EX- players currently on the main board. I must admit that worrying as to whether the OP is "Saints related" is not top of my list of prioroties ATM. I have a yoghurt going off in the fridge and it needs to be eaten. -
Soccer Saturday Live at The Mayflower

It`s in Southampton and features MLT. I would have thought it was Saints related. -

The Plaza I think. Also remember the Broadway and the Palladium (?) in Portswood and the Savoy(?) in Swaythling

I had a rattle, painted red and white ( which I think that I might still have up in the roof somewhere), that my grand-dad made for me. I used to take it to the Dell and to Bannister Court to watch the Saints speedway team. Great days

Whilst I agree with the sentiments in your post, what people can`t seem to see is that the perceived rise of "Political Correctness" (getting back to the original subject!) is one the things that is making the extreme right seem like good prospect to certain people. The recent reported case of the head of a health watchdog losing her position and the watchdog losing it`s funding after a long costly investigation because she used the phrase "jungle drums" when talking about rumours is a prime example of this. Whether or not the report is accurate doesn`t matter because this will just be seen as "another brick in the wall" to the Right. The perception that we are not allowed to "Offend" anyone but it doesn`t matter if we are "Offended" ourselves is one of the things that drive the Right. People on the left who in general dislike censorship of most kinds, can`t seem to understand that "PC" in it`s extreme form is becoming censorship in itself
