  1. Every week for the last week-and-a-half you mean??
  2. Sadly, I don`t think that promotion is just around the corner. I think that this season is going to be, at best, a difficult season of consolidation. We are -9, have a good manager (probably better than we should have given our situation), a team that needs changing virtually completely ( and he did have no pre-season time to start this process), and so we hear, no real "football" structure behind the scenes. To get this right is going to take blood, sweat, tears (mainly from us fans I expect!) but mainly time! I suspect that there will be a few more Huddersfields and Swindons before we get to where we want to be, but I am much more confident that we will get there.
  3. I accept that FF, and as I said my post wasn`t aimed particularly at you, but mainly at the people that suddenly announce that they "knew" from the start that the Pinnacle bid would fail. Even you said that you supported it at the beginning. I think that we all had doubts as time went on.
  4. I didn`t hear too many grumbles after the Millwall and Cobblers games a week ago. Pardew did not have anything like the same amount of time as other managers pre-season, bearing in mind that most teams start preparations for one season before the last one has ended. For people to have made a decision on Pardew after two games in four days is quite clearly lunacy. What will happen if we win the next two well? Are you going to change your opinion and say that Pardew is brilliant and that we will win the league, or will you stick to your knee-jerk negative stance?
  5. And even more importantly - Patience!!
  6. Of course it is valid! Whilst other teams have had settled, organised pre-seasons, Pardew has had what - 3 - 4 weeks? He inherited a very poor squad, has in that time added 5 players and convinced KD to stay. This time last week, everyone was happy after a draw against Millwall, a win in the Carling Cup, and the signing of last years FL top scorer. A week later after two bad displays, Pardew is tactically inept, and doesn`t know what he is doing. After a week!!! Some fans on here don`t deserve a club!!
  7. And so did virtually everybody else on here, but suddenly we have the "I am ITK and I knew from Day One that Pinnacle were just tyre-kickers" mob coming on here and re-writing history just like they did after the "Saints Go Wilde" fiasco. We all started having doubts when things dragged on, but Fialka was only put on show at the end of, or just after the period of exclusivity officially ended. Hind-sight is a wonderful thing isn`t it? Make you feel really important doesn`t it? This isn`t aimed at FF particularly, there are plenty on here who fit the bill!
  8. Miss the team bus, Gus
  9. There you go!! You can do it. "Small Steps" eh?
  10. Funny! Stevejo reminds me of Ottery!!
  11. Strange as it may seem, I wasn`t actually talking about you this time! I took your post in that thread exactly in the way that you meant it and have just described. I was actually referring to another poster on this thread who takes the moral high ground when it suits him but will resort to insulting name calling of the worst kind when someone posts something that he doesn`t like. Whilst you have many faults (arrogance, antagonism ) I will say that I have never seen you resort to gutter level language. Take that as a compliment. It`s probably the only one that you`ll get from me!:smt047
  12. Look out for Ye Olde Magyke Rowndabowt.
  13. They`re both called "Brighton"??
  14. Not quite. Lowe was originally here from (I think) 1996 to 2006. For the first 5 or 6 years of his "reign" there were no major incidents of unrest. Most people just accepted him as a slightly eccentric Chairman who seemed to know what he was doing, and who got on the Board of the FA, giving Saints a higher profile, and who was in charge when we built SMS. Quite a few probably even liked him for his tweaking of Spurs nose with his "North London yobbo`s" dig. The problems started when he seemed to start having too much say into the football side of things, and with the experiments (SCW etc), a season or two before relegation from the Prem. From that point it became the well documented sad downward spiral that we, hopefully, have escaped from. Everyone remembers the last 5 years but forgets the first 5. Also, by coincidence have just found this:- http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/3489097.stm an interesting read from 2004 with this line in it:- "Lowe's treatment of his managers has put at risk the respect he has earned from Southampton fans".
  15. Would tend to agree with this. McGeeee did look better when Wotte played him in a deeper role. I always thought that he was a bit under-rated. Granted he was not the lone-striker that Lowe/JP thought that he was so it`s not exactly his fault if he was played out of position all of the time. He did have a bit of muscle and was quite skillful but he did seem to lack an "engine" which a lone-striker would need.
  16. It didn`t stop the top scorer in the FL joining us though.
  17. Would you like to borrow my username?

  19. Especially when you have certain posters who think that it`s acceptable to call other posters "c*nts" and then try to grab the moral highground over a child calling someone "a skate". Hypocritical or what?
  20. I do hope that it was civil.
  21. Winning 0-4 at Old Trafford, Ron Davies with all four goals. THAT goal against Liverpool. How many passes? Obviously the 6 -3 Man U game. 4-0 win against Olympic Marseilles in Cup Winners Cup.
  22. Don`t be silly. That involves having the courage of your convictions.
