Wotton injury - the referee nearly had blood on his hands
miserableoldgit replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
This is correct although I would say that it was more than 30 seconds between the ref blowing the final whistle and anybody realising that the game had actually finished. It was only when it was clear that the game had finished that the crowd in the Kingsland North (fairly close to where I sit) ran onto the pitch. In no way am I justifying what happened but I do agree with other posters that given the emotion of the afternoon, the police moving in to the front of the Northam end (Saints only) with (unmuzzled?) dogs was probably both insensitive and antagonistic and contributed to make the situation worse than it should have been. -
I was responding ( probably rather predictably) to dalek2003`s ongoing assumption that if Hoddle had come back we wouldn`t be in this mess. Sadly my IF is as valid as anyone elses. "If ifs and ands were pots and pans there`d be no work for tinkers hands" .........apparently.

Whats this? A "witty" riposte? Well it does make a change from the continuous driibbling on about... well you know who.
-
In that case I suspect that we could find someone better than Hoddle again.
-
If Hoddle hadn`t walked out on us when he did we may have avoided the **** we are in now.

Meeting Thurs 23rd with Trust, SISA, Saveoursaints, 2 MPs, LM and MC
miserableoldgit replied to derry's topic in The Saints
As a matter of interest, how many members does SISA have? I thought that it was just a small handful. -
O.K. Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Geronimo AND Crouch!
-
I believe it to be Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse and Geronimo but I am not ITK or anything.
-
19C has been aiming bile at Crouch and McMenemy for a while, and has now included MLT in his list. I would be the first to agree that at times he/she does make some valid points but unfortunately they tend to get lost in the (deliberately?) antagonistic style in which he/she posts. It is a shame because I think that he/she prefers poking the wasps nest with a stick to being the voice of reason.
-
TBF I did notice your comments re:- Crouch and was pleasantly surprised, but that was balanced out when I saw your remarks about MLT. Firstly I think that he was asked about the sate of the club and how thing have happened. He has an opinion on what has been going on at SMS and he gave it. I think that his opinion may carry a lot more weight than yours or mine due to his (you may say tenuous) connection with the club. Do you honestly believe that MLT (or Crouch come to that) is trading off his image?? I think that he can be accused of some things, but he is, to many fans, the epitome of everything that they have loved over the years about SFC.
-
I see that you have now added MLT to your hate list. Very risky!
-
Not quite sure that it is meaningless. IF we win both games and stay up the 10 points come off this season. It is also the chance for Saints fans to make a statement.

What the hell is going on with The Pirates?? Elite League champions last year but can`t get a win for love nor money this season.

Meeting Thurs 23rd with Trust, SISA, Saveoursaints, 2 MPs, LM and MC
miserableoldgit replied to derry's topic in The Saints
It was sad to hear Clive Foley on Radio Solent this morning saying that ego`s were on display at the meeting that stopped the meeting having a unified approach ( The Trust not wanting to work with SISA etc). If true it is worrying. It is big ego`s that got us in to the current situation. If ever there was a time to put petty differences to one side and move forward as one it is now! -
October 21st. Trafalgar Day.

Saint Patrick wasn`t Irish. He could have even been French. What is your point?

Who do you suggest?

Makes you feel proud to be English.

http://www.leasalonga.com/ I saw Martin Guerre when it first opened but it didn`t last very long. The writers had a lot to live up to after "The Glums" and Miss Saigon. It was revised and was more successful when it came back. The set to most modern musicals are pretty spectacular. I particularly was impressed with the Mary Poppins and My Fair Lady sets in London, but I do find the barricade tranformation in Les Mis breathtaking every time I see it.
