  1. Bloody Hell!! Couldn't pick a bad player for us...JWPs best game this season....Bazunu excellent...Lyanco immense...I could go on. Superb goals. They kept going for 96 mins....first time for how long? To be honest my head is spinning. We're we wrong about Jones??
  2. Does it look like the team is playing for the manager?
  3. Oh sh1t!! Only just realised that this is on TV tonight. Really struggling to decide whether to punish myself by watching through my fingers or follow it on here....
  4. Arm around him. squeeze on his arm, the pat on the chest and the smile on the face all point to Che encouraging him to me. But I suppose if you already have a negative mindset, you will read into that short clip whatever you want. I am very unhappy with Jones appointment, but if this clip shows a player encouraging him after the sh1t he has been/is taking, it can only show that stories of the players "rebelling" against him might not be all true.
  5. Where is the offending clip?
  6. Hang on! Doswell? Dman? Couldn't be could it?🤔
  7. Noticeable that he used "us" and "we" a lot in his interview. Someone must have had a word with him.....
  8. Had to Google it.... verb 1. be successful or victorious in (a contest or conflict).
  9. I seem to remember him climbing trees at Staplewood at one point.....
  10. To a degree I feel very sorry for NJ. He did well at Luton and was offered the chance to manage in the Prem. In the same way as good strikers in the Championship would jump at the opportunity to play in the Prem. I have heard the expression "Thrown under the bus" used a few times recently. This is what it feels like to me, but I am not sure why. I don't remember any major press conference from the club when he was appointed explaining the reasoning behind the decision, and nothing from the club to answer/respond to the fans concerns. It is all very strange......Silence definitely not golden in this case.....
  11. Not sure that's true....at least Reed was always willing to sit in front of a camera and tell everyone how well he was doing.....SR just stay quiet.
  12. Whose heads?? Such a turn over in staff, many of whom only stayed for weeks/months nobody is left from the last few years.....
  13. Will we be feeling (Un)Comfortably Numb On the Turning Away after the game?
  14. Are Pink Floyd there??!!😲
  15. We get this frustration virtually every Transfer Window....High Hopes followed swiftly by abject disappointment. You would genuinely think that with the situation that we are in and how we were apparently burned late on in the Summer window, that we would have had deals ready to trigger on 1st Jan...but no...this is Saints. I have been supporting Saints since the 50's and a ST holder since mid 70's and I am getting to the end of my tether with it all. I have been messed around by the club with being kicked out of the seats that we had since SMS opened, we are bottom of the league with no obvious urgency to be able to sort the squad out to remedy this........and in the current financial climate the entrance fee is not good value for money.....although I may change my mind after the light show tonight....but I have a feeling that it will be followed by another shite show. It would be better to pay somebody to stick pins in my eyes. I am seriously wondering if my days of attending SMS are numbered. Watching the odd game on TV in comfort from home is becoming more and more attractive. I can sit and wallow in the many, many happy memories from over 60 years of watching my beloved Saints, when it was run by people who actually cared about the club. Mind you, two or three exciting signings and a surge up the table and that will all probably change!!🤣
  16. Stolen from Twitter:-
  17. But Scottish Prem is no better than League One down here dontcha know??
  18. Depends if they ha relegation clauses in their contracts I guess....
  19. Mind elsewhere??
  20. I think that the biggest frustration for me was the way that Brighton were playing out from the goalkeeper, tippy-tapping it between themselves whilst Saints players just chased shadows.....it was like toddlers trying to get the ball off grown men......and they weren't even that good at it!
  21. Whilst I agree that threads like these are somewhat irrational, you have to be aware of recent history. The generally poor performances in the transfer market, coupled with/resulting in diabolical performances on the pitch (two 9 - 0's anyone?) have completely knocked the stuffing out of most Saints fans. Every time it seems that things may be looking up, we are rapidly bought down to Earth with a mighty bump. When SR took over it seemed like something positive was happening. The summer transfer window seemed to reinforce this feeling until the failure to rectify our biggest, most obvious failing...a lack of goals....took the shine off of it. I was a big supporter of RH, but he needed to go. Went he went, I fell a great deal of sadness as he came across as a great bloke who was dedicated to the club but had lost his way. My only consolation was that when a new manager was appointed, SR would appoint someone with higher league experience. That didn't happen, which was a shock and another disappointment. As someone else said "respect has to be earned", but sadly you....sorry....Nathan Jones has got very little time to earn that respect. At the moment it feels too much like....to quote The Who...."Meet the new boss....same as the old boss".....
  22. They've had the shit beaten out of them by the dispiriting displays over that period....."it's the hope that kills.....".
