Undoubtedly, we failed to attract our primary targets at cb for whatever reason. At least we were sensible enough to just to go for him on loan. Disappointed we found the later stages of the window such hard going tbh.

I hate to say it, but I think Essru is right. If you can afford it, a sim-free iPhone with a decent sim is the 'best' way to go. I've got an HTC desire with a really cheap T-Mobile contract, but the Android experience isn't quite as seamless and smooth as I'd like. In particular, I think it's particularly poor at handling streaming video, although I appreciate that this could be down to the network. Claims that the iPhone is 'no better' just aren't true. The iPhone is better in that it offers a more seamless experience, although the price premium remains hefty and in many cases unjustified (hence the sim free route of buying one).

Would be amazed if this happened.

Not good enough defensively, that's for sure.

Really disappointed by all the criticism being thrown at the OP here when he raises a very sensible question. It is perfectly possible to criticise Cortese for one aspect of his performance without that meaning we think he has failed in all aspects of the job. We don't know the ins and outs of any negotiations that have gone on between Saints and other clubs regarding other players, so it's difficult to form any precise conclusions. One thing is for certain though. We know we have been in negotiations with players and that several negotiations have failed, and we know there have been rumours that we are now difficult to deal with. It is important that the club find a balance between not being pushovers when it comes to negotiations, but still ensuring we capture our primary targets. We will be able to have a more informed discussion on this when the transfer window closes. If we capture some excellent players, it will be tough to criticise Cortese too heavily. If we end up with players who prove to be worse than those we reportedly missed out on, or, heaven forbid, no more players, then it will be time to criticise.

A couple of things I don't like about FM11. Press conferences: Firstly, I find the questions repetitive (and the answers available) and I can't really see what effect my participation in them actually has on my success in the game. I know certain comments can change player morale but is that it? Training: I still don't find it easy to grasp how I should be using the training function. I end up just ignoring it really and I'm sure that's not the best idea!

Connolly doesn´t like the "back from the dead song"
sotonjoe replied to St.Patrik's topic in The Saints
Anyone who was at Plymouth away would know his thoughts on the song. Clearly the OP wasn't and was hoping to create a popular thread by posting some 'hot news'. -
Just be aware that not all of the companies advertising on Teletext - and on the internet / in the back of papers for that matter - will actually be ABTA & ATOL bonded. There will be some very cheap prices out there by some very dodgy companies, so make sure you understand the law, book on your credit card and do your homework on the company you choose to deal with.

Saintsweb HQ is gonna burn. This is no joke!

Spend £3k on a decent holiday and do something much more sensible with the remaining £7k

*woosh* Dulldays in illiterate shocker.

It looks like Lambert is being asked to play as a deep lying forward with another player in a more advanced role. He's doing well and it's not all about goals when playing in that position. As long as he's getting assists he's doing a large part of what the deep lying forward's game is about.

Needs to learn his place; he's not an accountant.

City of Liverpool cruise terminal: Turnaround operations consultation
sotonjoe replied to Joesaint's topic in The Lounge
As I understand it, Liverpool will never be granted permission to use the new terminal as a 'turnaround' terminal until they pay back the £14m of public money used to fund the terminal. If they can stump up the cash then fair play to them; that's what competition is all about. I've never really understood the attraction of Liverpool as a cruise start / end point unless ships want to head north. From Southampton it's already a two day journey down to or back from the Med and starting from Liverpool would add another 12 hours or so onto transit time. -
Does anyone know why Saintlard writes in lists?

Pre-season comparisons - Leicester, Middlesbro & P*mpey

Can't see what all the fuss is about tbh. Most of the criticism is coming from people who seem to suggest that he has implied the Norway killings weren't a bad thing, which he clearly didn't say and doesn't think. His point, whether we agree or not, was that the daily slaughter of animals by major fast food chains is on a much larger scale than the one-off death of 97 humans. In all, he was trying to stress how murderous a society we live in. I can't help thinking that many who claim his remarks are offensive have actually missed the point. FWIW worth, I'm not a vegetarian and had a foot-long turkey and ham sub from Subway today so I guess I'm 'guilty'.

Without the weight of open expectation regarding promotion - I can't see the club coming out and openly declaring that is the target - I think we are set to do pretty well. I'm quietly confident that we will finish top 10 and that we will have a decent chance of getting a playoff spot. I think we shouldn't be disappointed if we 'only' finish top 10; if the fans buy into this mentality and keep the pressure off, I think this will really benefit the team. I'm genuinely excited at the thought that we have a sporting chance of gaining promotion again.

I think Jemal's Facebook antics prove that he has had discussions with Saints about a possible move and that he is not averse to the idea. However, those who remember the Brian Stock Facebook episode will know that just because players reveal on Facebook that a move is possible, it doesn't mean that it will definitely happen!

Another **** stirring and attention seeking post from The9; quelle surprise.

I thought it was fine. Clearly a week ale but still had a nice flavour to it.

I don't think it's any secret that he's being kept well away from the 1st team squad and certainly hasn't travelled to Swizterland.

You'll get a hilariously wide range of quotes. Don't spend more than £200.
