So adding three strangers, plus one player who has been out long term, doesn't unsettle a team at all?
-
What a knee-jerk reaction. Our quality will have been unsettled by the changes we've made to the team. As AP said, "you have to take a little step backwards to go forwards". Start judging the 'new' team a few games down the line, not 3/4 of the way through their first game.

What kind of idiot tries to car-jack a Grand Scenic? I've read about people having their Golf R32s go walkies when they leave the keys in at petrol stations etc, but a Grand Scenic?!?!?!?
-
Onve you start spending that sort of money in the Specalized range, you should be looking at Rockhoppers in my opinion. The Hardrock Pro is an entry level bike, but with upgraded components, whereas the Rockhopper is a 'mid range' bike with a higher quality frame and more potential for later upgrading of componenets. I had a Rockhopper last me 12 years without any significant component changes! I'm hugely biased towards Specialized, but GT have had rave reviews for some of their mountain bikes in the £500 bracket. These sort of bikes are only worth it if you're going truly off road though. They will be bigger, heavy and harder to pedal than the hybrid / cross trail bikes. Riding my Rockhopper on the road is a real drag. For the riding mentioned by the OP, it's the hybrids all the way, as this is the sort of riding they were explicitly designed for.

The FSR is too much of a dedicated cross country bike compared to what you say you want to do with it. The Stumpjumpers will need a higher spend to get as good a bke as the Pitch I think. All in my opnion of course, but the Pitch is the one explicitly marketed as the 'all mountain' bike, whereas the others have a more specific target.

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?

You watch games with your eyes closed do you? -
There was a rumour but I'm think Drogba and Rosicky were mentioned. I've no recollection of Malouda. The fees were larger as well.
-
I've no idea how we're supposed to have 'acted badly' in the deal. Until a contract is signed, either side can change their minds. My understanding is that Seabourne was our number one target, but that we had an early offer refused. We went to Ward as a backup and had a deal agreed in principle which just needed to be signed. However, at the 11th hour a deal was agreed between us and Exeter for our main target, Seabourne, so we pulled the plug on the Ward deal. What were we supposed to do? Buy them both just to make sure Coventry weren't disappointed? Some people have a rather naive view about how business works if they think we should have done anything differently.

If you're sticking to the surfaces you mention, you'd be better with a hybrid than a mountain bike. Here's a couple, one two

Why not get a sim-free Nexus One?
-
Definitely go for a Specialized Pitch then. You can afford the top end version. link

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?
sotonjoe replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
It all depends what the fee would be and what his wage demands would be. Assuming his wage demands would be within our budget, what sort of fee would people be happy for Saints to pay? £250k? £500k? £1m approx? Free transfer only? -
Definitely. The Specialized Pitch looked good value last year with its two models priced at £1199 and £1399. It's an all mountain bike so is designed to cope with anything, i.e. a jack of all trades bike, but the reviewers say it's defintiely a competent all rounder. However, this year's bike is identical to last year's and they've simply hiked the price to £1399 and £1599 to compensate for the weak £. The cheaper of those models still gets the decent frame and competent components but the rear shock is still without a full lockout. At £1199 last year it didn't look too bad a proposition. At £1399 this year, it's not so hot. The OP should definitely get on ebay though. If you find somebody local selling a one or two year old high spec full suspension bike, you could get a great deal. Try this sort of thing ... link This one is a really good bike if you've got the cash - link
-
mine definitely isn't that slow, unless it has just been booted up. I would phone them as yours sounds abnormally slow.
-
I wouldn't buy a full suspension bike unless you have in the region of £1300 to spend. The 'cheap' ones (£800 - £1100) etc will be heavy, have poor quality rear shocks without a full lockout option, and will use low quality components akin to those you would find on a £500 hardtail. You can get some used bargains though; i have friends who have purchased Specialized FSRs for approx £500 from ebay!
-
nope. My V+ Box is hardly fast, but I don't have to wait for it to catch up. Without being funny, shouldn't you just wait for it to respond to a button press before doing the next? The sky boxes are a lot more responsive but I still believe the VM product is better overall.

Jon Otsemobor signed on 6 month contract
sotonjoe replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
I didn't use the word "disappointing", I used the word "underwhelming" which means 'fails to interest'. I implied that I would reserve judgment until he'd played. You were wrong to quote my post as your rant had little to do with what I said. Stop misconstruing posts and start quoting ones which are relevant to your rants. -

You're a right drama queen. Do you want to reread my post and tell me how I've condemned any of our players? I think I expressly implied that I would reserve judgement until I've seen them play but that signing a League One cast-off isn't exactly exciting. How you can start ranting at that, I haven't a clue. You certainly live up to your name. -

oh dear ... my underwhelmed-o-meter has just plumbed new depths. I hope Pards knows best and hope these guys turn out to be good. -
As underwhelmed as many others. I hope AP knows best and will reserve full judgmeent until he's had enough games to prove himself. Really can't get excited about this one at the moment though.

Hardly, Skacel never returns Facebook messages.
-
All this to-ing and fro-ing, why doesn't somebody just bite the bullet and Facebook Ward?
-
Sounds like stuff which the Andriod OS can do by default and, as I've already said, the latest 3gs handsets don't work with the current jailbreaking methods according to other forums on the interweb.

I thought it was an iphone actually:rolleyes:

If O'Driscoll walked out of Doncaster Rovers, would the club's management want to let him take Stock with him anyway? It all depends on whether O'Driscoll's hypothetical departure was mutually agreeable or not.
