  1. Well, we know that's a lie.
  2. i thought you had been banned
  3. I guess that might not be too far off the mark but things get complicated if Stock really is out of contract at the end of the season. If he's saying that he wants to sign for Saints and that he will not sign a new contract with Doncaster, surely he has little value. We don't know if he is saying this, but his desire and his contractual status will have a significant effect upon the valuation each club puts on his head.
  4. I expect it's just a rumour resulting from PArds' comments to Solent that "our valuations are somewhat different". I think this one will run to the very end of the window.
  5. The Apple site will confirm but it comes down to processor, camera quality, added video camera on 3gs, a compass, amount of storage and voice control
  6. One thing that sticks in my mind was that when I communicated with Stock last week he said the move "looks likely". I don't think he would have said that unless the clubs had already had some discussion about fees and I would hope that Pards' bringing the discussion into the public is merely a deliberate tactic to try and get the finer parts of the negotiating done. One thing's for sure, Stock is not going to come cheap. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be our most expensive signing under Pardew.
  7. This season is all about stabilising our position remember?
  8. Absolutely rubbish... ... I want a refund ... ... for the ****ty performance shown by the forum today. Shouldn't be falling on its arse like that. ;-)
  9. You've changed your tune!
  10. FFS ... we're **** etc
  11. The question isn't whether the new players gel with each other, but whether the whole eleven men can gel with each other. Existing plyers can easily be unsettled by the addition of new players.
  12. That's a different discussion. I posted in response to Alpine who said we've found our level because we're sturggling against good teams (or something similar).
  13. I'm not sure you guys understand me re the Iphone 3gs and jailbreraking. I'm referring to the latest revision of the 3gs. You can tell whether you have one of these by checking to see if the 4th and 5th digit in the serial number is 40 or above. These phones are affected by a changed bootrom from build week 40 (digits 4/5 are the manufacture week No apparently) which means you have to reconnect to a PC everytime you power down if you've jailbroken the device. Therefore, your advice that people should buy a new iphone with the expectation that it can be jailbroken is a little off the mark. You should also be pointing out the fact that the warranty will be null and void by tampering with the handset in this way, and that other phones offer a significant degree of customisation without the need for hacking in this way.
  14. So adding three strangers, plus one player who has been out long term, doesn't unsettle a team at all?
  15. What a knee-jerk reaction. Our quality will have been unsettled by the changes we've made to the team. As AP said, "you have to take a little step backwards to go forwards". Start judging the 'new' team a few games down the line, not 3/4 of the way through their first game.
  16. What kind of idiot tries to car-jack a Grand Scenic? I've read about people having their Golf R32s go walkies when they leave the keys in at petrol stations etc, but a Grand Scenic?!?!?!?
  17. Onve you start spending that sort of money in the Specalized range, you should be looking at Rockhoppers in my opinion. The Hardrock Pro is an entry level bike, but with upgraded components, whereas the Rockhopper is a 'mid range' bike with a higher quality frame and more potential for later upgrading of componenets. I had a Rockhopper last me 12 years without any significant component changes! I'm hugely biased towards Specialized, but GT have had rave reviews for some of their mountain bikes in the £500 bracket. These sort of bikes are only worth it if you're going truly off road though. They will be bigger, heavy and harder to pedal than the hybrid / cross trail bikes. Riding my Rockhopper on the road is a real drag. For the riding mentioned by the OP, it's the hybrids all the way, as this is the sort of riding they were explicitly designed for.
  18. The FSR is too much of a dedicated cross country bike compared to what you say you want to do with it. The Stumpjumpers will need a higher spend to get as good a bke as the Pitch I think. All in my opnion of course, but the Pitch is the one explicitly marketed as the 'all mountain' bike, whereas the others have a more specific target.
  19. You watch games with your eyes closed do you?
  20. There was a rumour but I'm think Drogba and Rosicky were mentioned. I've no recollection of Malouda. The fees were larger as well.
  21. I've no idea how we're supposed to have 'acted badly' in the deal. Until a contract is signed, either side can change their minds. My understanding is that Seabourne was our number one target, but that we had an early offer refused. We went to Ward as a backup and had a deal agreed in principle which just needed to be signed. However, at the 11th hour a deal was agreed between us and Exeter for our main target, Seabourne, so we pulled the plug on the Ward deal. What were we supposed to do? Buy them both just to make sure Coventry weren't disappointed? Some people have a rather naive view about how business works if they think we should have done anything differently.
  22. If you're sticking to the surfaces you mention, you'd be better with a hybrid than a mountain bike. Here's a couple, one two
  23. Why not get a sim-free Nexus One?
