Harrison Reed - Official: Signs for Fulham
John Boy Saint replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
Lets hope that this is just what he needs, playing regularly and for a lad with comparative small stature getting some decent experience and even more hardening up against some of the monsters that inhabit many Championship teams....... not that he has ever seemed to have a problem in this department. -
Be nice to see a bit of reciprocation from some of the other clubs in the league for us away fans, it's not as if gate receipts from away fans 1 game in the season is going to dent much of their income when total gate receipts are seen as a mere grain of sand in the grand scheme of the millions sloshing around in the Premier League. Tight whatsits
-
Well this is West Ham's ticket website, £20!! https://www.whufc.com/tickets/match-tickets/away-matches/southampton-v-west-ham-united-0 i wouldn't have thought seeing as Virgin have a banner with £20 is plenty in their current TV advert they would have carried on, Swansea look like they are using it to boost their Jack membership.
-
Don't forget Virgin are still subsidising the away fans with their £20 is plenty, that does make us an appealing day out for many away fans.

Something must be happening, as I had a very nice thank you video from Mr Pelligrino in my inbox last night.

Blimey it's either a big family, or the lad is a very determine player: that Trailist certainly is getting about a bit!!

I know its piddling money down the drain, so what if we have gone 4 games without him then another 4 games while he gets his head out of his backside, why the bloody hell should he just breeze into the team, "oh he's the best centre back we have got" - absolute cobblers!! Right now he is the worst centre back we have - he didn't get on the plane to France as a fully fit squad member because he wants out. What are Maya and Jack going to think when they are dropped just to let him back in, and don't say "neither of them are premier league standard"........ absolute horse poo!! Someone posted a stat last night about the number of points with VVD in the team then Stephens in the team, the stat was marginally in favour of VVD but seeing as we couldn't be bothered to score a flipping goal in the last 5+ games it was hardly a surprise the stat fell like that. VVD and Fonte were good the previous season probably down to the fact that they were playing behind Wanyama sized defensive midfield. 2-0 down at half time against the bindippers Ronald wheels out Victor after his ban, on the match day uncovered things Saints do Orighi and Sturridge are ambling out of their dressing room as Victor steps out suited and booted to play the second half you couldnt miss the sudden stop to their giggling. I think it's time we let one of these militant buggers stew for a bit, just remember he only cost us £12m not Walker or Stones £50m, so the only pain in the bottom are his wages. Just as a final aside: Liverpool in tapping up that lad from Stokes academy in the process they have absolutely, stuffed up that kids life, and his parents with it, because right now the lad is not with anyone because Stoke hold his papers and no team will buy his papers off them............ can't blame them "will he be tempted again". Be funny if they buggered up a full professional by their underhand tactics.

I guess Bank Holiday weekend, glorious countryside just down the road, right time of year to make a trip of it. My Sister lives over about 3 big hills to the south, so thats our plan. Footie, drinkies and a catch-up.

Burley must still be topping the Saints managers table with the number he dragged in................. turned out to be the thin edge of a very nasty wedge. -

Ditto Came on as a sub first game (?), then had a bit of a spin out last game and that was it from recall........................ Yup nailed on steaming pile of French Rose fertiliser............ Bring back the Guillotine!!! -
A bloody great big Sardine at a guess!! Smalling and Delph is where the the OP falls down, most Man U fans I know (and who actually go) wouldn't even give a moments regret if suddenly Smalling left them tomorrow.

Agreed Maybe if we hadn't stopped scoring goals at the end of the season, this tally up would have looked much different and in reality given the chances we squandered f they had been converted might have made more people think that we should send VVD on his way with the message "don't let the door bang on your backside on the way out". Centre Backs aren't employed to score goals, when they do it's a bonus. Your equation on a Premier league rookie being in defence versus an established many years under his belt player, just shows the volume of rose fertiliser that is posted from some quarters on here.

Surely it's the 1977on Admiral shirt next, my favourite

Their toast has to land butter side down sooner or later!! -
Spot on, a celestial alignment occurred, the approach, the angle, the contact foot to ball everything was perfect in that very split second moment. Rejoice at that one moment of magic in football that makes you go WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Not mither on like a sad sod because it's not cool to enjoy a stunning strike from an ordinary Joe, simply because a few of the other sheep in the field reckon he is a joke footballer.............. Ali Dia was a joke footballer: end of!!! Captain of Curacao and scorer of one of the most stunning strikes seen for years by a player wearing a Saints shirt. Good luck Cucu and thank you for a wonderful memory.

Very true One of the biggest cable TV companies in the country sticking us front and centre of their campaign, only those wanting a soft face get as much prime time advertising.

Hasn't Tuchel said he wants a break away from football, just because he hasn't 5 minutes later instantly donned his speedos and goggles and dived in when (if) uncle Leslie came knocking with a golden chance to get into the mad mad world of the Premier league with the leagues bestest stepping stone club doesn't mean nowt.. We have who we have, he's been touched by the Mercurial Bielsa, let's just see where this chapter takes us, instead of getting into what ifs and why nots of all the other "interesting possibilities" on the table. -
Blimey looks like Klippety has trouble in the camp, all of them except Henderson seem to have their heads elsewhere!! ;-)
-
McDonald's? Just had a weird moment, my Dutch neighbour here on holiday, just walked over the road and said that he just read in the Dutch press that VVD has put in a transfer request!?! Not sure which paper he was reading might have been a Mickey mouse one, his English is limited by confidence so I couldn't press him for detail I would have thought word would have gotten out on here if true??
-
Well the interesting possibilities were nowhere to be seen in the post match snippet from the boss, he seemed a bit cheesed off at the quality of the pitch, seemed to see it as it was, a bit of a run out. Be interesting hear him after next weekends game, as the Bees will no doubt be stiffer opposition.
-
Why have we not scored yet????!!!!!! - Pelligrino out!! ;-)

Ah the Terry Paine - Lawrie McMenemy syndrome strikes! You could say the same about Mourinho bit of a playing career in Portuguese lower divisions then not much else till he turns up as Bobby Robsons interpreter at Sporting........... and the rest is history. I always thought of him as a dour miserable unispiring bloke, but seeing as overall the club aren't a bunch of numpties and they have worked with him for the past year, then I will happily trust their judgement on this.

I think Hojbjerg is one of those players who improves with use, last season he seemed to start brightly then went missing, in and out of the side. Then when he got his chance again probably due to him trying far too hard to put in a performance to get a regular run, he was making some simple basic mistakes, the crowd groaned and he visibly got annoyed at his silly mistake. Hopefully with a new manager the slate is clean and he can get a run alongside Romeu, providing a bigger screen for the defence. We need that Hitman and Surgeon combination that we had with Vic and Morgan in the centre of Midfield. Romeu obviously has the Hitman part in his game plus he can also ping a ball over 10yrds. Of course We aren't going to know anything about the managers thinking until we start playing the warm up games. -
You are the nominated Saints Web match reporter then :-)
-
Has to be in the mix, first touch "head in hands - oh dear" second touch - back of the net! Third touch - back of the net!! Shame a few more subs for Saints didn't follow his sparkling example :-)
