As has been mentioned above it does seem to hark back to days gone by when we seemed to hoover up players who had had glittering careers but were deffo in the twilight of them. Kerry Dixon goal machine at Chelsea, bit tired when he arrived with us, Sparky Hughes rattled them in everywhere he played, scored one I think in a Saints shirt, Barry Venision - Broken before they had taken the lid off the pen to sign his contract with. Obviously we did get some good years out of a few "old boys" Alan Ball and Jimmy Case being the most notable. But in the case of Sturridge and Walcott both have medical files thick enough to put a car up on and have the wheels away from, Sturridge I think will be divisive in the dressing room as he is a bit billy big whatsits and would have others believe he is doing us a favour, Walcott though might work, as well as being a nice chap, he has always remembered where he came from (yes I know he was at Swindon before us) keep him fit and with all his experience gained since he left us coupled with his seemingly good nature could prove to be an asset.

I guess the Captain will be either Tadic or Forster then.

Will we heck as like....Had you actually watched him this season even if VVD was allowed to take a step ladder on the pitch he would still be half ar$ed getting up it to win the ball in the air.
-
Probably gone backwards like most of the team if they are being told to play in a rigid system by MP, it's already been suggested that Redmond is playing under orders. Yoshida is a far better player than some numpties on here make out, if you actually watch him rather than concentrate on just the slips and errors that all players make you would see that. Like has been said it does not help if the lummox who can actually touch the ball with his hands just stands rooted to the spot, seen Yoshida on many occasions give out the body language of "you have to be kidding!!??", a go and collect the ball in Forsters zone.

When Austin returned to the squad Mrs JBS said after about half an hour, "at last someone on the pitch is making others work telling them where to go".

You never know My first trip to OT was relegation season Steve Wigley stood on the sidelines with his hands in his pockets, we had that Swedish bloke who looked like a flippin scarecrow (and who's name I have forgotten) out on the wing and he decided to wear Gold boots for the occasion. Nowt Golden about his performance thats for sure. Only hi-light was when Rooney scored and some card in amongst us Saints fans pulled out and held up a poster of Shrek, which had many Saints fans bowing down with the chant of "Rooney Rooney" which confused Man U fans somewhat until this lad turned the poster to them, and they joined in with the bowing and chanting.......... certainly cheered up a grim afternoon.

Rather than start a new thread, and with Austin looking like he is going to be out for a while, with Long and Gabbi not being able to be so prolific in front of goal maybe we should be looking to get Sam Gallagher out of the nightmare loan to Birmingham City, at least he has had some game time to keep him ticking over knows where the goal is and Can t be any worse than the inert striking options we have at the moment.....actually whoever decided sending him to Birmingham needs to be on a disciplinary for leaving us woefully short of options. Yes i know that under the current formation we only have one slot available for a striker.

Conte questioned Pelle's descision to make the move to China as it would end his International career which had only just started, £300k a week and a life of old Riley in a country where paying tax is nowhere near as penal as paying tax here or anywhere else in Europe.

This could be a cricket score

We maybe chasing shadows, but the ref also seems a bit star struck being at Wembley and watching the Spurs!
-
Somebody bloody attack it!!!
-
He was going to get a ban for that, regardless of the fact that Lossi was still sliding forwards as Austin got there, think it was a bit of Devil and the deep blue sea as to where to put his foot as he was also running at speed. But seeing as momentum into a 50/50 challenge carries no lee way with refs during the game, he was going to get pinged for that.

Probably if it's done by committee it does require an emergency meeting to get everyone in agreement. Add in the recent omission of VVD, maybe a deal is on the table for him, and they are finalising the deals to get the players in before the price goes up off the back of a £50m+ deal......... Just so long as if it is this scenario we ain't running round like kids in a sweet shop just as Spurs did with the Bale money buying allsorts of tat, piddling oodles of cash up the wall in the process.

I have plenty of other things I could do, I have been going to Saints since 1978, maybe it's an age thing but the way things have been going since RK walked out the door, I am pondering if I want to cough up another £1000+ To watch half aR$ed football next season. I know folks who been going longer than me, and have walked away since the return to the Premier League all of them have said as each week passed not going became easier.

Just watched MOTD, and you can blame The defence until the cows come home for not being closer or snuffing out the chance , but Fraser Forsters body language looks like he's on the training pitch at Staplewood. There is zero readiness or anticipation in his demeanour.

Think the car crash with Season Ticket sales had an influence, coupled with turgid football that any fool could see wasn't helping the product.
-
Just checked my Dream Team points Sun Bets quoting 17/2 for a Saints win 18/1 for a 1-0 win, that is a bit grim.

Thanks again chaps for your help, went for one with bells and whistles, punches out a bit of wi-fi too, have a new room out the back with boys toys 55" TV, Sky Q behaves (touch wood), watching Amazon etc was becoming a chore, TV acted the goat but the Ethernet cable into the DVD player works wonders. Stumbled across the Le Mans series delivered in 4K HD. Wow! It was like the night Colour TV arrived in our house when I was a nipper. Once again thanks for your help, Merry Christmas.

I really want to see the incriminating Photographs Redmond has stashed away in his Safety Deposit Box. They must be bloody fantasic!!!
-
He's off to be assistant manager with the sweaties, Saints wanted compo from SFA, the SFA said you've pulled our pants down already when you let that bloke who liked a wee dram come to us, you can whistle for any more from us.

Which one to go for? There seem to be a few at Maplin

Cheers chaps, I have a BT extender but it just fades in and out, I got a new Hub 6 with the infinity and all the advert cobblers about it going through walls!! The Hub is upstairs but 6meters from it on the far side of my bed getting attached to it is sporadic, yet going over the road then 2 houses down I can stream on that neighbours doorstep!! Yet the extender is plugged in the living room 11 feet below the hub and it struggles to pick up internet. Wish I had a Chrystal ball 6 years ago when the house was gutted and rewired if I had been up with this stuff I might have had the for fore thought to Hardware Ethernet sockets everywhere. I will give these a go as the reviews look spot on
-
Anyone run Ethernet cables from a hub round the outside of the house to provide an hard wired internet connection to Sky Q and other stuff I don't want to chase out walls. thanks

SO you're the bugger kicking the back of my seat for 62 minutes at Home games!!!

Not too far off, someone will have a moan about a player then, a few others will join in, then someone with a regular posting history will put in their detrimental five penneth, which then qualifies said players Permanent rubbish abilities, thus achieving the sheep effect, where even if the player scored a perfect double hat-trick 2 weeks running every month, they would still be carp for the rest of the season, especially if they farted out key when bending over to adjust their shin pads. Of course the bulk of the decision making of a players carpness is based on watching the games on a device able to pick up a dodgy stream of North American output, and not actually attending a game and observing the overall performance.
