  1. That was my first thought too.
  2. Dont worry there is a nipper playing in the Man U under 14s that Hodgson has been watching for most of this season.
  3. Dinlo alert!!! 3!! Bloody shocking!! I can spot more or less where I am when flying over most of Europe and it isn't cloudy! Ooo just spotted that I am not alone sat in my corner wearing a pointy hat with D on the front!!
  4. I think Michael Owen who retired at 33 should be thrown into this thread, he exploded onto the scene at 17 and played so much football before he was even 20 when most lads are still growing. He acquired a hamstring problem early on which became the bain of his career after shining so brightly. There are obviously niggles with Luke that quite easily could be attributed to still growing, so why allow what is looking to have been a good investment by the club so far to burn out early, when if everything goes to plan with the Southampton way he could be the next Ashley Cole but still playing for Saints. Just staying on these young players still growing causing niggles, when Steven Gerrard kept getting niggles in his very early 20s I recall it coming out according to the medical stats that he was still growing and that was the root of his problems. Wrap Luke up in cotton wool I say, as I can't be the only Saints fan who watches Gareth Bale with a tinge of what if?
  5. That is an understatement, I thought after years of neglect by my late Father in Law before he got someone in to chase out the Tigers and Japanese WWII soldiers that our lawn was in pretty shabby condition, but seeing that! Ours is like the Fairways of Wentworth by comparison. House is nice but for that asking price I would have made sure there were no "Spiders Legs" out the back!!
  6. But then look at Delaps throw ins for us it was just a long pass back to the oppos keeper everytime, for Stoke it became a lethal weapon.
  7. Funnily enough we were just talking about that and the perfect timing of the Hoof!! Very funny.
  8. Liked the way Probert marked Nzonzi's card early doors when he was up to his tricks in the 6 yard box, the longer chat he had with him than Cork showed he knew the lay of the land. and Shawcross handing it out but Mithering like a child telling tales when he had been given some of his own medicine.
  9. Going on the colour of the grass it looked like it was too dry rather than too wet, and the way the ball sped away also pointed to this, a hard surface will also give grip issues. Probably find stud technology has not kept up with the demands the players put on them when changing direction. The sprinklers never seem to reach the edge of the pitch on a Matchday.
  10. We will spent lots............................ Just hope it's better spent this summer when it comes to the Marquee signing.
  11. 75 posts and only 12 votes, pretty poor show and quite frankly pathetic. And then you get St Chalet pulling the Tigers tail without any reaction. Looks like apathy from Muppet Show regulars is going to see The Bear remaining out in the wilderness until the Mods grant him parole!!
  12. Bugger me we got a point!!!!
  13. I quite like the entry from our Clompen wearing friends who live in Windmills.
  14. Must be the first time there has been no Eurovision thread on this forum for years. And there was a few pleasing bits of totty on there tonight: Mmmmmmm Ukraine!!
  15. I always worry about targeting an ex player with abuse, anyone remember us giving Birmingham the right runaround when the Dutch project was here, he trotted out to the touch line from the subs bench and the chant went up "stand up if you sh@gged his wife" to which a few cards did here and there in the various stands, 30 seconds later he has smashed one into the back of our net................. Almost as a reply of "Sit down shut up".
  16. Might as well see if we can get a wave out of him too!!
  17. Something that seems missing from all the bits and bobs on here is that Nicola is also managing director or something of The Mali Group which was Markus's engineering company, a while ago there was something that popped up about that company struggling since the passion an drive that was Markus passed away. I am sure in the piece that was linked there were some pretty gloomy descisions looming on the horizon there. So it is not just Saints of Markus's concerns that NC is involved with.
  18. I vote for staying off the pitch, as others have said we ain't achieved as much as we did the last 2 seasons still if we have won half a dozen will make a break for it from the Notham end of the Kingsland and then it will be like sand running through a hour glass. Havent seen any other invasions elsewhere in the prem for the last home games last weekend.
  19. Blimey I had to get out a Basildon Bond writing pad when I wrote to Lawrie Mac asking for his help to get a ticket to the League Cup final for me and my Dad when I was 14 and had no way of getting to the Dell. I had to fold it up with a cheque for £5 and put it in an envelope and lick the back of the Queens head and stick on the front and post it in a letter box on a Monday.None of this instant electronic nonsense then. But Thursday on returning from school to be told there is a letter on the side for you postmarked Southampton and when I opened it to find my letter inside, which was a bit confusing, then I took it out and there were also 2 Wembley League Cup final tickets inside and a note written on my letter from Lawrie, as you can imagine I nearly exploded on the spot. i think the timescale from writing the letter on Sunday evening, to my Mum posting it on Monday, to a reply not arriving until 4 days later has probably made the memory last, apart from phoning my school mates I had no way of telling them until the next day at school either. So if young Luke does help this nipper out I hope he still remembers the moment 34 years later: even if it is just a game v Stoke.
  20. You just missed a chance to post your Just Giving website link there and Hoover up the readies AND go to the game!!
  21. Only if there is a snap descision for a European super league in June will that ever happen and the traditional top 4/5 all sod off into it. Either that or we get sold to a mental billionaire who just cascades obscene amounts of money into us. As like most things money talks in Football and the top 4 have it to burn compared to us, tiered final position winnings from The TV money then being in the Champions league brings even more wealth so the imbalance remains in that the same teams have the power to chase down the best players in the world with Mickey Mouse price tags on their heads. Rugby league the TV money is shared equally and a wage cap is in place so there is always a chance of someone else getting a crack at the top, even in the world of American Football the bottom team gets first pick of the college draft in an attempt to level the playing field and keep the product interesting. As nice a picture as the opening poster paints, Pigs are fed and ready for take off springs to mind.
  22. There you go get the Daily Mail all in a lather and go as Golliwogs complete with Bolero jacket and striped trousers.
  23. If Saints are playing away or on a day off, and Stanley are visiting Nottarf Krap we should go along and boost the away fans numbers whilst giving BT a bit of support.
  24. Tis Done.
  25. Didnt say that at all, Cork has been great this season at Swansea you could have sworn there was 2 of him on the pitch. However there are times though when he drives forwards then seems to have doubts and selects the frustrating reverse option. MP obviously thought Cork was the right option to change, and that JWP was a more direct option.
