I would be very very disappointed if he left P*mpey, driving home after a pleasant afternoon at SMS would not be the same without the Steve Cotterill post match comedy show on Radio Solent.

Have you been to one team's old/new grounds?
John Boy Saint replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Only both Wembleys to see Saints I will be able to add both Readings a week on Saturday to my extensive list. -
Could Rickie play for England?
John Boy Saint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Here's a thought: Rickie gets picked and then someone whispers in his ear " play in the prem and we will invite you again", January comes and he's on his bike to Newcastle quick as you like. -
Could Rickie play for England?
John Boy Saint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
If England are as woeful at the Euros as they were in the World Cup (did I hear right that one excuse was they were bored?!!!?) When they return every man jack of them should be dropped and the next manager made to select Championship players only. -

Well there is a space in the team for a scouse striker until after the first game of the euros. -
Anders Svensson: Andrew Surmans playing blueprint, brilliant one week indifferent the next.

The Old Bill requested the game switch, probably thinking Bristol City would bring a few. Not spreading resources thinly on NYE with a City full of marauding hordes from lunchtime till gone midnight.

Tesco, use the points on doing something rather than punting it back into the shopping basket, plus Mrs JBS works for the Evil Empire so we get discount there too. Would like a Waitrose local to us as they do have some nice bits and bobs not found elsewhere.

Decided on the Oxford Brasserie, cheers Danny R, living just outside Basingstoke we don't often eat out in Southampton. Very pleasant meal. Glad we booked, very busy street, although looked like it could become the Wild West on occasion as the evening wears on.

Cheers for the input folks. Here looks like Mrs JBS will be comfy on initial viewing, had a look at Kutis Thai online menu: seemed a tad light on content. Coriander Lounge tickles my tastbuds. Best pull my finger out and book something.

Had a Bellman called Benny in Guangzhou, China, in a great hotel called Chime Long, the Boss greased his palm when he took us to our rooms, he looked after us a treat. Pays to part with a few shekels to smooth the way.

Amazed some numpty hasn't piped up with a "he could do a job for us post"!!

My Daughter and her friend are attending an event in Southampton Saturday night, as she is uncertain when it will end and the trains get less frequent after 11pm we have decided to bring them into the City and obviously take them home. So an opportunity for dinner out has arisen for Mrs JBS & me so we were wondering if anyone has any good suggestions. A starter for 10 in my mind is Kutis Thai (if it still exists) in the old pier building. Being well travelled I will eat anything (Bee larvae & Scorpions included but can't see them being on offer in Southampton) but Mrs JBS is a little more choosy................ So step forwards all you Gastrominers.

Might find as the weather has turned a bit chillier, due to your past injury Rhumatism might have taken hold.

I saw a chap in the Chapel the other week that looked like he had washed his new shirt with an Arsenal strip circa 1970 (red body pink sleeves) so he a red and white- with a hint of pink stripe version. I thought modern plastic shirts didn't pick up foreign colours.

This has to be post of the thread................... Absolutely nail hit squarely on the head

From the Chapel it was one hell of a strike, I wouldn't be surprised if the crossbar needs replacing before the next game!

Like everywhere the indigenous people of the land get diluted to the point of extinction. Like to have seen the maligning of Red Heads a good few centuries ago when most folks neighbours wore woad on their bodies and hair of flame red................. liked a damn good fight too.

Just remember the words of Jim Bowen at about 9:30pm just as the beer goggles are coming into focus: "have a look at what you could have won!!"

I saw lots of Cranes flying about whilst playing Golf in Vilamoura Portugal back in May. hth

Question about learning difficulties / dyslexia
John Boy Saint replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Lounge
I was trained out of my Dyslexia at place out near Chandlers Ford, I spent every Friday afternoon there when I was about 10. I had no trouble with big words or reading in general, but my written work was prone to be jumbled, back in 1974/5 my teacher passed me off as being dim or stupid but someone independent of spotted it thankfully, and my parents investigated further and paid for me to attend this school. What they did miss was my numerical dyslexia, if I don't concentrate my processing of numbers can be woeful. (not too clever when you work with product codes all day long......... few big credit notes here and there!!). Sudoku just leaves me numb, my kids rattle through them. and computer macros just become a total blur on the screen, which is shame as that would be a great skill to have up my sleeve in my job. The case at the top of the page could just be ignorance, like people who always talk through you not even listening to you opinion, this person might only like what he has written, in the same way. -
I have a Bialetti stove top coffee pot which when the water boils is forced through the ground coffee into the chamber at the top, so a simple Percolator. The only downside is that the coffe gets scalded by the boiling water which makes it a tad bitter. That said stick some Tesco finest Java & Sumatra ground coffee through there in a decent quantity and its quite Narcotic. I also have a French Press which is quietly civilised and is like a good pot of tea brewing on the table. Like a teapot a cosy is advised if you want 2nds from the same pot. Ideally I would like a Bean to cup machine like a Saeco or something of that quality, but getting Mrs JBS to buy into the idea is like pushing water up hill. So in the interim thanks to a rates for mates deal I have a Nespresso with the frothy milk do da, quick simple programmable, unless you are a total coffee buff the choices are limited to 16 "Cru's" and 28p to 33p a cup is probably a bit steep v Jar coffee: but the crema on the top certainly is a good sign that there is something right about the system............ and the Ristretto certainly hits the spot of a morning.

Expansion of The Dell. Was it ever possible??
John Boy Saint replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
Saints at on time were reported as owning the land behind the west stand right out to Hill Lane but the disruption re housing the folks in the flats would have be great as they would have had to be bought out of their leases. Only Milton Road terrace rumour in the late 70s early 80s.............. It might have taken an age to get there but St Marys was right in the end: anyone sat at Old Trafford or Villa Park with their knees up round their ears? -
About 9 months ago didn't they have a bit of a hard turf out of some of those lads who were hailed as the next best thing since the invention of fire only 2 years ago? I thought at the time our academy is taking things very seriously again. It will be very interesting when Fifa eventually force the number of home grown players in a team on the top leagues in Europe, just as long as they don't have the get out of being able to graze clubs like ours at will......................... or is that what is behind the big Man City plans announced last week?

What is Nigel's plan B for the winter...
John Boy Saint replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
I would imagine that a bit of dampness on the surface would be right up our street, allowing the ball to zip about even more. This in turn will mean opposition will have to work even harder to stop our possession, which I have noticed has been the been the primary objective at the start of the second half in the last 2 games at St Marys, so the last 20 minutes of games should be quite entertaining for us as a result.
