JPT final or beating the skates?
John Boy Saint replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
Both. After the last few seasons of agony and pain, why not put on the Raybans and the sunscreen and bathe in the warm sunshine glow of success. -
We had a couple of blokes who wittered on like a couple of fish wives at the same game "oooo have you seen Billy he's put on some weight recently", "who's that?". "Antonio I think". "Has he scored for us yet?". "Saw Tommy the other day, his wifes left him for the milkman". "Davis looks a bit dodgy". " What Milky the Milkman?". Thank god they never came back after half time, probably felt more at home watching Sky on the concourse.

nope it will be: Chelski Sperms Man City cos they have the mostest massive fan base of armchair fans, especially the first 2 to guarantee the biggest TV advertising revenue, and they are also the only teams left for ITV commentators to get there heads up the backsides of............................ Jeez I have to get a ticket just to avoid listening to that pillock Peter Dreary for 90 odd minutes.

What and miss the the the most embarrassing, and yet funny, thing ever at a Saints v Skates derby: when we played that League cup evening game. Sat in Team Saints corner with all the stands peppered with the dispersed Northam naughty words boys. When the p*mpey chimes went up and the rest of the stadium responded I turned to see my then 10 year old daughter standing pointing to the skate fans singing "Fk off p*mpey!, p*mpey Fk off!" along with the masses.

We have another team for that game, thanks to the rules on cup tied players. A game we can't lose, we are old money 3rd division they are 1st, we can relax and enjoy the game. Didn't want it in reality, but now its here.................. Yahoooooooooo!

Forgot to add to my post: sat in the Chapel when Rickie was sizing up for his free kick that led to Antonio's goal you could see phone camera lights being turning on across the Northam and even including the Ipswich fans!
-
Because "we are by far the greatest team the would has ever seen!" About time we got shown a little bit of respect ;-)

I enjoyed that game immensely this afternoon, for the first 30 minutes I felt that we were showing a little too much respect to Ipswich, or on the flip side were not use to that level of intensive pressure that Ipswich applied in the opening period. What a strike from Thomas! The crowd called for him to shoot and he did with an absolute pile driver, top man! That seemed to settle us into believing that we could hold our own against them, and soak up the pressure that Ipswich applied to half time (I think the sour taste of Millwall has been a lesson learned: which is fantastic). Second half was good too, our back four were very solid and worked well as a unit as the clock ran down and even when the ref magicked up a by association to Mr Ferguson 5 added minutes for Mr Keane whilst feeling a little uneasy I actually had faith that the boys would pull the rabbit out of the hat: something that has been missing from Saints for a good few seasons. In the week on the drive up to MK we were talking about the team, and I felt that in some of the games where the opposition were a bit lacking the team looked bored at times, and I thought that today would be a good test as Ipswich are on the up and a Roy Keane side (once he has them ticking) has a never say die attitude, that showed today and our boys backed up my theory that when put under the cosh they have the steel to have a bloody good go! Well done boys: especially Fish, Thomas, Holmes, and Davis (how cool was that, just letting the ball into the net from the throw in: putting the willies up some of us for a moment and the more informed for a little bit less).

I thought he was very impressive, the thing I like about him is that like Lloyd James when his opportunity has arrived he has grasped it with both hands and is making Pardew's decision to drop him harder ever moment that he is on the pitch. When you compare both of them to that useless pile of skin, fluid, and bones that was BWP who had numerous chances to bed himself into the team Fish & James show the kind of attitude that we as supporters like to see from our players.
-
Why not? Surely with the supreme power that players have these days they can more or less do as they chuffin like.

What a shame to exclude yourself from any future political debate post election. Don't vote can't moan.

Not sure if this came up in the P*mpey main megathread above sorry if it did: David James loan to Stoke City, if heard right on Sky yesterday, fell through because Stoke only wanted to pay his wages until the end of the season whereas P*rtsmouth wanted Stoke to pay his wages until July. The crux of the chat was that this was damaging James chances of playing in the World Cup for England. Surely if this was the case and David James really wanted to go to South Africa in the summer, James would have taken a salary cut to enable the loan to go through putting himself back in the mind of Capello, especially as Capello has said that if you are playing for your club then you will be in his consideration. Maybe if James did take a salary cut it is what P*mpey have been pushing him for to salvage their precarious position which is why he did not make that concession, but if I was a player who was in with a serious shout of going to the World Cup at his age I would be moving heaven and earth to give myself the very best opportunity to make it happen.

Ouchee!! Trouble is a couple of weeks can be very generous, it can persist as a problem for years, I did one of mine 5 years ago and it still gives me grief, I certainly don't give it the workout a pro footballer would every day. Shame really as I like Hammond's psychopathic style of play.

Hey its nice to know that we can still rescue a draw from the jaws of a win in good old Saints stylee. Hopefully this will be a lesson learned. Did some of the players today have half an eye on Wednesday evening. C'est la vie

As we seem to have some serious Cyclists out I will ask this question (apprehensively): If you had £5-600 in your pocket for a mountain type bike that will be used for Tarmac country lanes, farm tracks, footpaths, and forest/cycle ways. Not hooning down 1in2's through the woods, what would people recommend?

Testarossa 25years old!!?..................... Sh!t I am getting old!! If he was trying to sell it I would have imagined that he would have gone a bit faster for official confirmation of its potential.

Not when you have Pillocks like Gordon Taylor with his stick still in the puddle, Also this would have to be a unilateral directive from FIFA and UEFA otherwise no national footie association would have the balls to be the first.

Is that the one near Setthorns camp site, where the first 100 yards down the slope from the car park is the dodge the dog poo obstacle course?

Sorry Ponty: having grown up from the age of 5 in the wilds of North Hampshire in Village where I lived every Kid in the school could build a snowman on the village green and they would be untouched by anyone else, the competition was to see who's Snowman lasted the longest: it went down to the last spec of snow on the grass. No money no prize just knowing that you had built the last Snowman in the village that Winter was enough kudos for a day or two

MIne needs a new pump and a power flush, no Heating guy without a horse to tie up outside can do it before Wednesday.

I spent the whole afternoon on Sandbanks Beach once creating a masterpiece of a Sandcastle, took bloomin hours. While it was under construction passing people were stopping to look and comment. Half an hour after completion a family came along with a couple of lads under 10 and sat a few yards away, within minutes they had come over and smashed it to bits as I sat with my feet in my "moat". A Dad and his child built a real monster of a Snowman in the field near us, must have been 8-9 ft tall, within the hour after construction it was mush on the floor.................... As you say "This Country"

Oh Poo!! I have to blooming work at a trade show in Birmingham on the date that the game has been rearranged for....................................... Gitbags!!!

That was a bitter night, you could see the frost getting whiter on the pitch as the game went on. I remember getting Bangers and Mash from that Mash of the Day place, the mash sat in my stomach for most of the game like a breeze block that had spent the afternoon in the oven which was a bonus.

Boss has given me a Snow day 'ish I will be working at home and he will expect to see results by this afternoon when he returns from his days Skiing in Val D'Isere. C'est la vie. Back to the snow, I have not seen snow like this for this long since I was a nipper (Canada apart 20 odd years ago).

Why Markus Liebherr should buy Portsmouth Football Club
John Boy Saint replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Would we be playing in Purple and White stripes with Grey shorts and Pink & Red socks when this marvellous merger takes place? ;-)
