Jeez, well that brought back painful memories. It's strange, had we not capitulated against Villa, Boro and Everton I'm swe would have survived and then we would have missed out on our good fortune we have now.
I would prefer Brum and Blackburn to join them, we tend to do well against the 'bigger' clubs.
I have mixed emotions with WHU, with family ties to the club but the p0rn barons deserve this with the many mistakes they've made this season, starting with employing AG and finishing with the way they dismissed him.
They'll need to raise plenty of money (£30-40m) from player sales for them to enjoy a challenge next year without worring about the financies. But to many player changes and the wrong manager in and they are stuffed.
I would suspect that there are players who have big egos but still recognise football as a team game and are not corrupted by greed or agent to realise the team is the most important thing in winning games and medals.
I don't think it's easy just to keep a player without thinking about the team. Much will depend on the succession planning of players, i.e. who will take over from Jaidi? Seaborne, Martin? Are they ready now? Is Jaidi going to be used as cover? Or do we buy?
We have a number of options for left back plus the promising Shaw (who is likely to see some first team action in the next two years). Do we keep Mills, and Dickson as well as Harding? Or Sell Mills and keep Harding and Dickson?
Sorry to stir the pot but not having read the thread except the last few posts, if we got 20 points, would we have finished third?
Twenty is closer to 22 but then the prize of second place would not be ours. So much depends on how everyone interprets the question of "how many points will we need".
Hotel Jenny, Klepferhof, 68220 hagenthal le bas, Frankreich. Near Basel, superb food and wine.
A bit closer to home Auberge de Luc, Welwyn Garden City, Herts. Again great food and wine.
I surprised they didn't interview Gus, the best Manager in League One... ever!
Joking apart, a nice piece and I can see another good season ahead with Adkins at the helm.
It will be against league rules to totally change the side, however they do have a couple of promising youngsters who may see some or all the match (especially if Murray is out). Also their captain, Greer, should be back from his four match ban
A shame the U-18s lost to Fulham to fall 4 points behind them in League A but I suppose at that stage as long as they keep learning and improving the U-18 league results will be irrelevant for first team appearances and successes.
