I tend to agree that it is a numbers game and this leads to the critical elements for Saints to get it right: - being able to have a crop of youngster that can make the jump to the first team. I don't think having the odd very talented player (Walcott, Bale, Oxo) come through will work as the impact of losing him will be too great to overcome in being a PL team while raising our own players. It would be better to have a group of players come through, which can be seen to be good players but as they have played together for so long are far better players because of it. - having the infrastructure and coaches in place. The training complex is being improved and the academy we have been told will gain status 1, but do we have the coaches which can get the best out of the players? - scouting network. There needs to one covering enough geographical area to satisfy the need to produce the number of decent youngster (especially if the coaching cannot obtain the best out of each player) and the few supplementary older players. Has the scouting network has been set up (what has happen to that Danish guy)? - selection process of youngsters to produce decent players. If we want to be a PL team and hopefully a top half one then the youngsters need to be of the identified as being able to achieve this as I don't believe any aspiring young footballer is capable of it. I wouldn't have a clue how to do this selection, maybe some kind psychometric test/assessment can be used!

Wish I had bothered, I thought it was a life-time ban considering some of his off topic posts.

A bit disappointed a thread hadn't been started for Hypo now he's banned. So here it is. What will you miss about Hypo and his posts?

I think they are forward thinking parents and have obviously signed a tv deal to rival the kids programme Ben 10.

So is this now the suggestion thread rather than a closing down a thread thread?

Oxford for a few games.

From what I heard it wasn't worthy of a red card and the ref had an awful game missing bad tackles which lead to the Doble (arm up but no contact) red.

Hasn't done much since leaving Saints, a decent stint at Northampton followed by a couple of months at Burnley as care taker before Eddie Howe arrived.

Not forgetting there should be easy transportation for the expected 55k+ fans.

I think we'll be able to keep the youngsters for a bit longer mainly due to the fact that the environmental aspects (training, supporting facilities etc) will be top notch, offer them first team football and there would be a togetherness from group of players that have grown up with each other. I'm not sure about the coaching side, but would have thought that could be improved when the club go into the premier league. As for the 4-3-3 Barca way - tactical I understand they are going to tinker with it. I'm not sure what Adkins will try to do, but 4-4-2 is still standard in England.

Umm, we went into last season with four CB's so I don't get your point there. Also, if it's a fifth CB to play cover when Fonte or Jaidi aren't available, I cannot see many experienced players wanting to come for that plus I think it's not how Saints are recruiting, as the signing of Jack Cork has shown.
-
That's what Martin has got and has shown. I'd be surprised if another CB comes in but if that's the case then Seaborne's days are numbered.

You would have had more credibility if you left out the Pearce bit! I don't know if you saw the England games but the midfield was truly awful and if you were a Liverpool fan like Mike Wilde you'd worry that £16m spent on Henderson was £15m over the odds and Manciene should have never been considered in the DM role. I agree on the hyping though, it's a step forward in building a decent squad that will blossom together, just the odd addition and loss each season will suffice especially when the academy starts in full flow. Also, there seems to be much more to Jack Cork than a good ambitious player, he seems a decent and intelligent bloke too.

From my legal dictionary, Servicing: to provide services for: as a : to meet interest and sinking fund payments on (debt) service a large loan b : to collect payments and maintain a payment schedule for (a loan). Also remember, this is the THIRD version of the CVA so all that's happened is a change to the payment schedule from one version to another.

I liked this one...

MoD can't account for about £6 billion of equipment

Yes, contractors. My brother used to service the police radios but was not in the police force. I expect it's the same thing (and no he didn't steal them). How far back does the list of missing items go?
