  1. It was the UEFA cup. Sub appearance in away leg in Israel against Tel Aviv (his debut for Leeds).
  2. Good news and it looks from the article he'll be making some first team appearances next season. That's four centre backs, I don't really understand the obsession of bringing in a fifth.
  3. The same could be said for CB, what with Martin and Seaborne as well as Jaidi to partner Fonte. Do we really need five centre backs? The only reason for that would be if one of Martin or Seaborne are leaving.
  4. ...and signing the players I want to see.
  5. I agree, although sometimes it's the reluctant applicant that turns out to be a great acquisition.
  6. That's a p**s poor excuse from the club. If there is an issue, I'm sure you can go into your bank and set it up and the bank can confirm to the club. All you need is the club bank details.
  7. Agree, it'll make a nice change to see a progressive squad over the years by keeping the best and adding to it through the youth development and sound purchases. In the past I think there were an average of 10-12 changes (in's and out's) in the squad per year. That's certainly changed. I also think there is some over-analysis of any communications from the club or media.
  8. and it doesn't have to be a hot day, it only means it'll be a quicker death.
  9. Depends on what business it supports and any SLA's in place.
  10. I was certainly grateful for a light-hearted OP. Now I'll be waiting for my training on the Saintsweb Standard Operating Procedure so I can act accordingly.
  11. Simon Charlton from Huddersfield, but I'd expect there were loads of signings that just didn't make it and for that reason are hard to remember from 20 years ago!
  12. Iain Dowie from West Ham for a sizable fee and didn't Le Tiss write about Wood who joined from Millwall being a nice guy but totally out of his depth?
  13. I didn't have a clue what this was about... for those that want to know more: Hearts player found guilty
  14. Marina Hyde... writes about footy in the Guardian so you can talk about something interesting beforehand.
  15. Think back at least 50 years, you could even go back to 1870 when they were only second best (admittedly out of two)! ;-)
  16. Worth repeating as there seems to be too much drawn from a one line twitter feed:
  17. Ta muchly
  18. I wonder what provisions Saints have to make sure it's the technical ability that counts and the player progress with that in mind rather than age and size. An interesting read on how the FA are (finally) trying to help out.
  19. At least Birmingham are trying to rule themselves out!
  20. The link doesn't work!
  21. Which shows a couple of things; players progress at different rates and if the player is technically able he can reach a decent standard. I'm sure when Tomas was with us he didn't really want to be or there was some other issue as he was pants for us but there were glimmers of ability.
  22. It's really too early to tell what is likely to happen as said by the OP - it's too difficult to judge. Not only because the eveness of the teams throughout but with no outstanding team. Perhaps at the beginning of August when Birmingham, Cardiff and Watford have had their managers installed and the majority of transfers (in and out) have taken place it'll be easier to predict. Currently my top six would be: West Ham, Reading, Forest, Ipswich, Leicester and Hull and bottom six: Watford, Peterborough, Millwall, Coventry, Crystal Palace and Barnsley. (The skates will cheat again!)
  23. Is that list based on police arrest figures at the game or just your assessment? Where's SRS when you need him.
